I was told I cannot make a map full of events due to blizz abs auto updating every event on the map... is there a way to make BlizzABS only update the events that are tagged in the Event name as a Mob and leave all the rest alone?

For instance, Hypothetically I make a map, a town say.. I have events for all the doors, passive butterflies and birds, townsfolk and a custom weather event consisting of a few parallel events... with no mobs... is there a way to make BlizzABS not lag this map by updating all the events needlessly? please for the love of god :P

It's not Blizz-ABS that's updating all the events, it's RMXP's default engine. Blizz-ABSEAL does not prevent updating of the events (as this would create unspeakable problems), but it does remove sprites that are not visible on the screen.

Well Blizz, in your infinite knowledge... because forgive me but my experience here and with rmxp your more of a rmxp god in my eyes.. is there any way to prevent the lag that is occurring in my game? I have a map 100X65 with 67 events and i get mild lag like choppy walking... I use BlizzABS 2.84, alot of the events are just objects and ppl walking around and doors ect.. not a single mob or anything, anything would be helpful

Try this:

Name all the events that you don't want to update # and they won't :)

(They won't update completely tough so they won't move routes just stand still.)

I think that your best bet would be that you ask winkio to include this feature. Something like "EAL prevents event update as well". Using \eal in an event's name would exclude it from all the updating restraints then if you need it for some special events.
You have keep in mind that people walking around do require updating, otherwise they wouldn't walk around while they are not visible on the screen.

^^ that could help reduce the amount of events though, so this could help, doors ect :P

Yeah I'll send him a PM that would be an excellent feature :) even if just removing events such as doors and whatnot with a simple /eal :P

I use it in my project and it helps.

I use a shadow script in my project that has some annoyance with priorities (It shows shadows half through objects or on roofs) and the easiest solution is putting events with the piece of tile as graphic on the map because the shadow script recognizes events and sets them as higher priority.

With that simple 2 line edit I can name them # and have no worries about them :)

Hope it works with blizz abs.
