tactical battle system help

So i don't know if i'm in the right section or not...and if i'm not please re-direct.  I am curious if i can use my own characters in a tactical battle system.  If i can which system and how? Every one i've tried so far has not allowed me and came with characters, weapons and other things that i would have to use.  If someone could assist me a.s.a.p it would be appreciated.

GubiD is infamous for his TBS. Granted it's a little tricky to set up, but it's pretty awesome in design.

And nonsense, you can configure your actors/weapons/other things with any system--just need to know how to modify the configurations.

What KK20 said, its a great script and its even compatible with most scripts you find, so long as they are placed ABOVE the TBS. That said I'm using his script for a Front Mission type game I'm developing (I've got some sprites done for it,  GTBS set up, and that's about it xD)
