Using Terrain Tag

I'd like to know how can i set up a common event so that when a player is standing for example on a terrain tag "2", the move up & move down key will be disable. Im developing a side scrolling RPG and using Blizz ABS. I only want the player to be able to use the up & down button when he is in the ladder or any connector since i configure my sprite sheet to have a climbing pose on up & down button.

You can also put it in a common event. It's really a matter of taste and how many places you are going to use it.

if your making a ladder there is a simpler way to do this
