(This post is so massive ownage that it deserves a double post.)

While putting a feature list together I realized that I would need hours in order to make a list of everything that is possible with Blizz-ABS v2.0 by using only very simple events and absolutely no scripting. That's why I put together only a VERY ROUGH list of what it is capable of and what its features are. And that "short" list is still more than XAS can do. Especially since Blizz-ABS can be extended with most of my scripts and Tons of Add-ons of which each on is another extra feature. And don't forget that only built-in features count. Stuff that you need to use events to make actually work (real eventing, no configurations and setup) doesn't count.
Nobody except cw7 should read this, because he's the only one who doesn't know what you can do with Blizz-ABS (but especially because the list is freaking HUGE).

Sweet jesus @.@

I'll admit, I enjoy playing games with XAS more, but I'll admit that Blizz is BY FAR the better system.

Blizzard

Which is basically my whole point. By using Blizz-ABS you can create better games. =/ Of course, after I add the (reasonable) features that XAS supports, there will be as good as no reason not to use Blizz-ABS. xD
As already earlier stated in this thread, Blizz-ABS can be graphically as appealing with less work. People just don't realize that because I haven't made the demo look like that. A mistake which I will fix with "Chronicles of Sir Lag-A-Lot EXA Edition". ^_^

Exactly.  Most of XAS's coolness is that Moghunter is an expert at making animations, so truly, its just a slightly advanced ABS with Mog's animations.  There's nothing truly amazing there.

Blizzard

I like nice animations, too, but I prefer good gameplay over graphics. That's why my demo wasn't as flashy. It was rather to demonstrate what you can do, not to look nice. But I should show more of the capability of the system. :D

o...o...o..

u guys make me geting a headache

XAS people get stuk with there arguments and startet to affront our mebers

o...o...o..

well ok here is my question HOW can XAS kan reach BLIZZ-ABS?

Blizzards ABS is much older than XAS the power of this system cant be reached in month (allso blizz is working on ist oftend)

BUT

BEWARE with XAS u got a realy enemy now (i will have a eye on it), take care... and watch it

BTW
i think it muste be good avery way

if XAS and BLIZZ-ABS is fighting each other there will be 2 very nice ABS in near time...
if XAS and BLIZZ-ABS where working to gether there might be the grades ABS ever but i think this is just a dream the fronts are to different.

thanks for reading and a nice day to all

Blizzard

Eat my shorts, XAS. :D Trigger AI System FTW!

And Combat AI settings. :3

Only thing I can complain about XAS is how the items work. I can't stand very much and its annoying that in order to use item, you have to be in the field. But other then that, it looks alright to me. It needs the hotkey features to make it a little easy.

As for BABS, it will be better if you can just use items/skill in the hotkeys instead instead of pressing the correct number and then use a button to use both skill and item, I wish Boris can also add a perfect multihit, where it causes multiple damage in the same skill or attack frame.
You can also use "overdrive" (sick of this word...) effect like Soul Rage..

Overall, BABS can use different scripts, but it cannot do these:

QuoteFAST / Slow / Stop / Confuse / Seal

Although you can mimic Slow and Stop with events (parallel process + condition branch+ wait x frames? and parallel process+ condition branch + change actor speed?)
And who needs seal? -_-

While XAS is most likely being limited, as well as a bunch of script doing one thing.
And most likely you cannot edit that gay HUD at the bottom unless your a scripter.

Other then that, fancy stuff aren't always good. BABS is easy to use. And have a good comfort level. -_-;; And confident that BABS can use different scripts that doesn't disrupt the process.

My vote: BABS

Enough drama.

Aqua

Just to clarify:  There's a feature in Blizz-ABS called Direct Hotkeys which lets you just press the number to use the skill/item.

Punn

Pfft, fuck this, BABS all the way then

Wrong.

Seal: Simply the disallowance of using stuff. That would be like a mute for weapons. That can be made with adding one line in Blizz-ABS or (which is way more reasonable) as separate add-on. And true, who needs it anyway... xD

Confuse: WTF?! Blizz-ABS DOES support confuse. And not just that, it makes enemies and actors attack their own kind while it messes up the movement for the player like in SoM.

Stop: Basically paralyze that lasts for an infinite time. All that would need to be done is editing the check if a battler is dead to return true if the state was inflicted. One line to edit.

And yes, Fast and Slow can be done with a common events very easily. Simply change the player's speed to running/sneaking speed. The problem is just that

what! i was away on business stuff! i am still here i can top blizz abs any day!
hey blizz, lets start a competition, everyone build a demo with blizz or xas abs and we vote to see which one is better!
who think this is a good idea?
Sounds like a good plan...but you're missing one or a few vital components...

A good RPG Maker can turn something bad and make it good or excellent. A bad RPG Maker can turn something good and make it horrible or unbearable.

Not just that, if the competition is hosted HERE, the home of Blizz-ABS, there's going to be two things given:
1) There'll be more Blizz-ABS games than XAS.
2) The chances of Blizz-ABS beating XAS is higher.

Now for 2), the reason can't just be said that it's Blizzard's territory. Maybe an excellent developer created a great game on Blizz-ABS that knocked the socks off of the other. Or maybe because there's more Blizz-ABS games out here, there'll be a higher chance of winning. Who knows.

In the meantime...
