Ananda was over to the side, meanwhile, blasting down some Scord, slicing others. she looked pissed. the android who was with L3X before, and the one she called were with her, and they were fending off those who Ananda missed. She was doing better than most others.

a group of about five androids and six humans were doing their best to stay alive, but even as L3X's sensors noticed them they were overrun.

apparently someone set up some energy cannons, because some opened up and fired into the enemy group, doing some much-needed damage, but killing a sizeable number of L3X's own allies.

taking down three that came at him at once, L3X whirled around and saw Ananda about to get killed.

she's the leader. L3X might be able to take over command if she died. but, still. she's an ally. what to do?

L3X:

Let's see how versatile this beam cannon really is...

L3X pinpoints his new toy straight towards Ananda. He is aware of the fact that he wouldn't make it to save her if he tried to get close and block the attack so he's improvising. He tunes down the power of his fire-ice beam cannon so it doesn't have a wide firing range when he fires it.

Die, Scord abonimations...

L3X fires a few consecutive shots of small beams, almost like lasershots, to take down Ananda's attackers and probably save her life. Even though he entirely concentrated on shooting Ananda's attackers, his sensors picked up the few Scord on their way to attack him from the back. He manages to avoid their melee weapons and takes out his all-the-time favorite, the Ethereal Blade.

Let's rock!

Slice one! Slice two! Two Scord are down, a few more shooting from afar. Quickly evading and deflecting their projectiles with the Holo-N Shield L3X makes his way toward them and slices them down with his blade which cuts through them like a a hot knife through butter. And there! Another group of humans in trouble!

There are 5 or 6 humans, hard to tell from this distance.

The group of humans is about to be smashed by one of the Scord's giant mechs. L3X pinpoints his cannon towards the mech and fires a heavy ice blast. The moment the energy blast hits the mech, the arm it was just about to use to smash the humans get frozen and the mech can't stretch it out to kill them. L3X fires another shot and another. The mech is immobilized and can't move. L3X runs toward it and the same moment the Scord pilots open the hatch to escape, L3X reaches the mech and slices them up just like the Scord before.

Quick! Get in there! I'll melt the ice meanwhile.

First hesitating a moment without realizing what's actually going on, but then determined entering the mech the humans realize how powerful their ally L3X is... L3X uses the laser version of his newest weapon of opposing elements to cut down big chunks of ice. Then he smashes the small remaining pieces of ice on the mech with his icecool metallic hands.

Go help your friends. I'll try to capture some more mechs.

Could this be the key to victory? This was almost pure luck after all. L3X was only able to freeze the mech's arm because the pilots were not paying attention to him. They could have dodged the ice blast without big problems.

If I want to capture more mechs, I have to be more stealthy or resort to high-range attacks... I should at least try...

Ananda was saved, but her androids were killed. she was using some form of a shotgun.

The human resistance, gaining a bit more morale, began to fight back, but the Scord's superior numbers didn't leave much for hope.

somehow gathering a large number of humans and androids into a single group, Ananda would be able to fend for herself, now.

right as L3X started to immobilize another Mech, a loud sound disrupted his functioning...

[Blizzard]

L3X:

What the...?!

L3X's blade ceased functioning.

Alright, whatever. I'll handle the Scord with my plasma cannon in close combat.

L3X fights his way through to Ananda.

What are we gonna do now?! I'm out of ideas. I *could* try to take them on by myself, but not all at once.

[Vell]

Ananda glanced at L3X, while shooting at some approaching Scord

I don't know. at this point I'm thinking about modes of escape, small as they are.

as L3X's systems strain harder to overcome the challenge, a weapon stalks, responding to a heightened signal.

[Blizzard]

L3X:

This is familiar... I remember... This is... it is...

L3X seems to be hearing some kind of voice telling him to kill the humans and androids.

No... NO!!! NOT AGAIN!!!

L3X stops fighting for a moment. The signal is not strong yet, but L3X realized that it's something very similar like what happened so many years ago where the Scord turned the androids against the humans so he starts fighting it before it gets through to him. Is it happening all over again like with the cmputer virus signal during the war?

Androids! Listen to me! Do NOT listen to the signal! The signal is a lie! It is LYING to you! Do NOT do what it tells you to do!

Even though L3X destroyed his own extern controller module, the signal is still getting through to him. It actually seems as if the signal is not forcing him or infecting his systems. No, the signal is acting rather suggestive. For this signal attack to succeed it would require L3X to actually want to give in. As long as he fights it, he's safe. At least his mind is.

[Vell]

as he goes into a sort of mental combat with himself, L3X stops fighitng, and doesn't really hear what Ananda is saying to him. he just keeps shouting that its a lie.

and the signal grows stronger. and a weapon responds.

now alone to fight the scord, with the few captured mechs, the humans are in a much more demoralized state.

[Blizzard]

L3X suddenly stops acting like a psychopath.

Surrounded by Scord...

His arm twitches along with his weapon.

No hope for survival...

Suddenly his arm is completely still.

And THEM trying to enter my mind...

The Ethereal Blade activates itself again with a flash of electricity.

We're doomed...

His other arm suddenly creates a field of electricity. The arm with the blade attached follows just seconds later.

We're dead.

He puts his arms together.

But...

The energy from the Ethereal Blade parts into two, the other part of the energy wandering onto the other arm over the electrical power generated through... whatever is generating it.

I refuse...

A second blade forms around L3X left arm.

I refuse to give up...

The blade is hovering at the same position as the blade on L3X's right arm even though there is nothing that can generate it like on the right arm.

I refuse to accept the fate somebody else has chosen for me.

The electrical fields burst once and increase in size. The blade seem to be have grown in size by almost 100%.

I will not be controlled.

The electrical fields burst once more and and grow together this time building a powerful electrical field surrouding his entire metal body.

I WILL NOT BE DESTROYED!!!

L3X boosts his power even more with HP-mode.

I AM THE MASTER OF MY OWN FATE!!!

Suddenly L3X boosts into air which is only explainable by the amount of electrical energy creating a magnetic field to keep L3X hovering in the air.

[Vell]

The signal stopped. it would have affected L3X, but he isn't functioning in such a way at the moment to properly respond to that.

his optical sensors picked up a tall figure running through Scord ranks, snapping necks, throwing blows through Scord.

but that had no bearing.

the sound changed.

Kill the Scord, it chanted. Kill them all.

where androids were fighting themselves, they were then turning their attentions abck tot he Scord.

[Blizzard]

Not affected by the sound either L3X is suddenly realizing what just happened. He realizes that he doesn't seem to have problems maintaining this level of energy at all, but his body does. In order to prevent overheating he opens up his ice cannon and removes the diamond. Unbelievably he squeezes the diamond and it breaks into many little pieces. The diamond dust spreads over his body guided by the electrical currents.

This will keep me cool. Hehe... cool...

The diamond dust channels the ice cannon's power over L3X's body to keep him cool all the time.

The unknown tall figure still breaking through the Scord ranks and the androids fighting the Scord with moral like never seen before gives Ananda hope. Even though she doesn't understand what just happened, she's glad that L3X is on her side rather than on the Scord's side. Or is he? Is he on anybody's side?

Ananda decided to rally her people together, and are only firing against those that approach them.

no androids are in her group.

the Tall Figure jumps up, a move straight out of an action movie, and snaps a Scord's neck with it's legs.

androids fire their weapons with a cool precision even an android can't reach in their usual parameters.

Scord ranks fall apart, and they are on the verge of breaking.

L3X:

At this moment the tall figure is close enough so L3X can actually see who it is...

BioE?!

Yes, it is the biological weapon BioE. It has returned and it's killing off the Scord, its very creators.

What the...?!

BioE has pretty much cleared the part where he is off the Scord. The androids are doing well themselves and not one android or human fell ever since they started rampaging. Even though incredibly powered up, L3X hasn't been able yet to didn't want to try out an attack. He actually didn't have reason to since the androids were doing fine. But now that BioE is here... L3X pinpoints his blades to a small Scord group just slightly off the battle field. They are preparing to get into the fight to assist the others since they seem to are losing the battle after all. There must be around 20 of them and nobody has noticed L3X's pointing towards them yet. Suddenly L3X fires a massive energy beam towards the Scord group which seems to be generated partially by the blades and partially by L3X himself. The beam is not straight but rather chaotic as if L3X had a hard time channeling the energy in a straight beam. It still goes straight and is precisely aiming where L3X wanted it to impact, but it seems rather like transversal wave shape with low amplitude than a beam. The beam impacts and creates an explosion. Scord and their limbs are flying through the air. The didn't know what hit them. Seeing L3X strike down such a vast force of Scord with just one single shot gives Ananda and her group hope and strength. Yes, it is a massacre and it's horrible. But right now it's about killing or be killed. There is no place for the weak on this battlefield. BioE also notices L3X destructive power, but he doesn't seem surprised.

[Vell]

the BioE struck another blow into a Scord, and turned, staring straight at L3X now. it smiles, and turns around, pointing a finger at an enemy, and a laser goes flying through it, into another enemy in the middle of a group, where the Scord partially explodes, and staggers the surrounding units, leaving them open for the androids to wipe them clean.

this battle is almost over. the appearance of BioE, and L3X's increased state of efficiency, has nearly won the fight.

and looking upon the area far away, with some form of a looking glass, from a Scord's version of a helicopter, a Scord in armor different than normal, looks upon the battle. it turns to someone else.

Release it.

and then sounds a deafening roar.

[Blizzard]

L3X:

What was that?!

[Vell]

a loud explosion knocked some dozens of humans off their feet. a loud earth-shaking rumble shook the ground, knocking down numerous androids even.

L3X turned, to stare at a vaguely reptilian face, into an eye reminiscent of a cat's. firey plumes of smoke drew breath from this creature. something thought by all to never have existed, bt that was developed in a lab.

L3X once had a face-off of sorts with this creature.

it was a biologically created Dragon.

Project BioD. created long after my own project was started, it has no ability of a mind, its entire thought process is commanded by a computer on a scord ship. it's been weakened for a while. this'll be tough - it was created specifically to best any other biological weapon in pure strength.

without waiting for any response, BioE loosed some sort of a rope which whirled around two of the Dragon's legs, and snapped them together, and tied off, and BioE leapt into the air as the ground where he stood erupted into a burning hole.

[Blizzard]

L3X:

L3X also takes immediate action. He bluntly fires a hyper beam with his new gained power towards the dragon. The dragon gets hit, but it didn't to be very effective... BioD fires a fireball from its mouth towards L3X just to notice a moment later that L3X isn't there anymore and that the fireball goes into nothing. L3X is flying from straight above towards BioD and smacks him right into the ground.

BioE, NOW YOU!

[Vell]

BioE launches an azrray of those finger-lasers towards BioD.

it uses large wings to avoid the lasers by lifting into the air, knocking away L3X at the same time.

stretching it's leg muscles, it snapped the rope, and did a seemingly impossible maneuver and slapped it's long, pronged tail, into BioE.

twirling around, in a rage, it unleashed a steady stream of fire towards L3X.

[Blizzard]

Odius & Tikoja:

The VS-Craft explodes. Tikoja gets thrown back right into a wall. The path that Odius came from gets blocked by concrete from a building that the explosion damages which means he can't get to Tikoja at all. Suddenly there is another explosion not far away.

L3X:

L3X's ice cannon is currently being used to keep him cool so the damage taken by the fire stream isn't too heavy. He manages to stabilize in midair in a blocking stance.

Argh!

I can't take this for too long. Hm... I have an idea...

L3X boosts off towards the dragon right through the stream of fire. Not realizing the damage L3X could do if his plan right now succeeds the dragon keeps up the stream with its mouth wide open. L3X accelerates as much as possible.

I'll break through his head from within the mouth.

L3X stops blocking and instead he pinpoints his dual ethereal blade forward towards BioD. He flies directly into the dragon's mouth like a bullet with incredible speed.

[Vell]

and is surprised when the Dragon chops down, severely damaging L3X's legs, but L3X manages to break through the Dragon's forehead, earning a loud, deafening roar.

upon coming out, L3X sees the rest of the Scord have been routed, and that all the human forces are focused on the dragon. nets have been tossed around it, to hinder its movement, but little seems to be affecting it at all.

BioE has been pelting it with laser after laser, and has broken some scales with fists, and is at that moment pounding on the area behind its neck.

[Blizzard]

L3X:

Damn, my legs... At least I don't really need them right now since I'm flying.

BioE! We have to go for the head. We should try to disable its senses and fire breathing ability. His eyes are already done for.

After finishing this L3X fires a beam heading straight for dragons head. Actually it's heading for its neck to be precise.
