Just an Interesting Idea

The thought just kinda came to me, and this is less of a request as it is a project for someone who is bored (considering i personally probably wouldn't actually use it very often if at all.)

In some older games you could walk into a house on the map without the use of teleporters or rather changing maps, the roof would just seem to cease to exist, and you would get an x-ray of what is going on inside and still be able to see a bit of the outside too, with the house now just being centered. Sure you would have to have two pallets or one pallet that included inside and outside of an area but it would be neat to be able to recreate this feel.
If anyone knows what i mean, feel free to elaborate cause off the top of my head i cant remember any names of games that did this but i know some did, so i cant really provide examples.

The reason this couldn't really be done easily without script is cause of the roof to room transformation thing.

You could do that with a combined tileset using an event for the roof's picture. You could simply check the player's coordinates and check whether he is beneath the area you have defined as roof or not. If he is, change the opacity (maybe even gradually to make it look nicer). When he leaves the area, change the opacity back. It should be fairly simple, but it could cause some lag due to the number of big pictures on events and a high number of events (i.e. 10 events for 10 buildings). I recommend using Blizz-ABS 3 to minimize the lag significantly.
