Many thousands of years ago Dragons were the supreme magic users of the land and all the countries of the world prospered greatly under their guidance and protection however this is to be short lived.
It all started when a group from an order of mages of humans started resentment towards the dragons and the other countries, they wanted the magic for themselves so they could rule over, not these beasts.
And so deep within the earth the first Darklith Crystal formed beneath the Magic Crystals of life and in it all the resentment and bitter human emotion were absorbed into it's magic and it started to spew forth dark emotions to all those who resided above it.
(All thoughts and feelings are given shape and form when magic has permiated in an area, magic also is condensed into crytiline form easily.)
The first to notice the change in some of the humans were the dragons and they wen't on huge hunts for the source of it all. They dug into the earth above the location of the Darklith Crystal using their advanced magic. Soon they entered the chamber only to find that instead of one darklith crystal there wer thousands that had spawned from the first one because of all the new emotions stirred in the minds of men and when the dragon's went to destroy them, the darklith crystals seeking to defend themselves, corrupted the party of dragons including one of the highest ranked leaders.
Soon war ensued between humans and dragons and humans amongst themselves and dragons amongst themselves. The darkliths encouraged the fighting spirit and soon they grew big enough to penatrate the upper earth and soon across the globe many great spires and mountains had formed out of the darklith crystals, creating a dark world, where the very animals around them became dark hellish beasts.
One of the last remaining remenents of unchanged dragons and humans formed the Lost Order and combined their magics together to force a place in the world where they could operate before going to take on the darklith crystals. The order fought, there were many casualties but eventualy they one and the crystals were destroyed and cast into the void of oblivion or removed from the planet.
This legend and the order became a myth however it is believed that the Dragons, being able to shapeshift kept their line going by taking a family with the humans of the order and so several half Dragon half Human species reamin today.
