Cosm ex Populus
What the **** is this? So, my (undiagnosed) ADD kicked in today, and the warm sun revived my imagination. So, I'm posting this thread, the point of which will be to gather all the ideas from interested people on the forum so that we can build a huge, epic game world!
Mainly, I'll just supply a world, classes, basic story, and a few characters, and from there we'll add or subtract whatever the crap we want, just for fun, to try and get the biggest, most unique world we can get out of this. Basically, the exact opposite of WoW -- I want substance as content, not stuff to do.
Alright, so here are the ideas we'll start off with, then add to and remove from to build this thing:
IntroThe story takes place in a very Earth-like world, but larger -- it has multiple continents, though they are all much smaller than most of Earth's (no Asia/Americas/Africa) -- and it takes place a thousand or two years after a huge war between the four Civilizations, Order, Chaos, Mystic, and Ancient (last one is a placeholder), which devastated most of the world and left none standing but the humans of Order. The humans have spread out across the world, coming from Drae Zel, the island in the northwestern corner of the world and to Gair-Navar, the largest of the continents and to the west of the center.
GeographyThe Northwest This is mainly the land of the Order, and consists of four greater islands (the Dominions) and sever lesser ones (the ____, no name yet). The greater islands are:
- Drae Zel (dray* - zell)
- Cupernium (cup - err* - knee* - uhm)
- Stormist (storm* - mist, runs fast so the M's are one)
- Galladus (gal* - uh - dis)
And the lesser islands are:
- Norbluf (nor - bluf)
- Gazind (gaz* - end)
- Others, I can't think of any more random names
( *: denotes stress on that part of the word)
The only island I've decided upon the geography of is Drae Zel, which is a very green land, with a hilly farmland to the northwest, a castle and cities to the east, a port land to the southeast, and some old ruins on a sort of island to the southwest that is still considered part of it because they are the same island, just with a large river running between.
More LaterOld World StuffBefore the Lost War, the world was split five ways -- The Kingdom, the land of Order which lied mainly on the Greater, the fabled lands of the mystics on the outlying lands hardly journeyed through by the other kingdoms, the Barbarics, the lands inhabited by the Chaos people that layed at the very bottom of the world, the Magnapolis, the heavily developed land at the center of the largest continent, and the Outlands, the unclaimed land populated by the exiled races and others who chose not to live within borders of a country.
Will post more later, go ahead and gimme some random ideasPOST ANYTHING YOU WANT CHANGED OR THING WOULD GO HERE, AT ALL
