My First Techno Song

First of all I made two mistakes in this one:

  • Added 6 beeps in there for testing purposes and forgot to remove them
  • Right when I was finishing I accidently added a guitar sound at the end so it doesnt really match

NEW SONG

impulszero

song 1: rithm is bad( in one part dont fallow the sound ), no crossing at all
song 2: Good, but: no guitar to cover all that base, basic same rithm, low-q crossing
song 3: good just to random. dont have some part that is needed (call it heart if u wish)
overview:
U do have good potential. keep it up :).
advice: start with covers of other ppl song. It's good for learning prog that u work on

offtopic
: what prog/plug did u use for pank song???

updated music with three new songs, Unamed Techno, Repeating Beat, and The Fight

let me know what you guys think!

winkio

Unamed Techno was the best by far.  I don't really have any suggestions, except for just play with it more and see if there's any improvements you want to make.

The fight has lots of potential, but you confined yourself to a small box on this one.  I'd say do more with it.  And don't confine yourself to the same form the whole time (12312312 x 4).

Repeating Beat sounded kind-of like a banjo-kazooie piece, but it wasn't entirely thought out, imo.

Hellfire Dragon

The unamed techno one sounds the best, but I could've sworn I heard that somewhere before :O.o:

G_G

You heard it in my RMXP Platform Engine I think.

Hellfire Dragon

Nope, I heard a few months ago... or at least something very similar. I'll see if I can find it

G_G

Added another song.
Do note that two of the songs I posted yesterday were made awhile ago so I'm not just making music like crazy.

Added one called Inferno.

G_G

Updated again. New song. Inside Power.

Tyril132

I didn't know you composed!

I'll have to take a look through these. Give me some time to listen to them and I'll be happy to comment.

Finished the first couple of them.

I liked the techno tracks; not necessarily my style, but enjoyable. I liked that they constantly kept things mixed up; it's something I wish I was better at with my own music (I tend to fall into "safe" patterns.)

The punk rock piece has a lot of merit, as well, though my ear kept anticipating the bass and guitar coming together (like, say, around the 2:00 mark) and it never happened. It could stand to build a bit more, but the song has a great underlying "drive." I especially liked the bass guitar's flourish around 1:02.

Oh, and a question: are you using modified sound loops for your techno tracks, active synthesizers, or both? I thought I caught a hint of the VST plug "Ravity" in your first piece, but could be mistaken. The punk song sounds like a live recording. Did you have an accomplice or did you sequence it? :P

First 3 songs were made with a program called Mixcraft studio. Not very advanced as FL studio is, which is what I use now and which is what the rest of the songs are made with.

Holy hell.

I just finished listening to The Fight, and it's amazing. The chorus part is just... haunting and fits the song perfectly. The piano break-in at 0:38 is fantastic, and the strings compliment it perfectly. The drum parts fit pretty evenly for the most part, but there are a few sounds that felt a bit out of place. There was specifically one part that caught my attention, a "rattle" that sounds like it's from the GM set, right about... 1:08-1:09.
