There is always an argument over wether there's actaully life in this universe besides us.
But, I, personally, believe you have to be pretty narrow-minded to believe we Humans(Animals included) are the only intelligent life, if not, the only life in the universe.

All of these UFO(Unidentified Flying Object) and USO(Unidentified Submerged Object) sightings can't just be from
from crazy people that are making up stories.(Some of 'em are, though.)

I know, some UFOs caught on tape have been proven false, but most, if not, some are unexplained, which
of course means they could very well be real or fake.

And when these aliens do decide to actaully interact with our world leaders(Or whoever they think might be the world leader(s) ) they are
either going to decide to make peace and partner up with us, give us there technology and fix our problem with global warming(Or whatever they might do)
or they're gonna wipe out all humanity, or keep us as slaves.

But, of course, thit is all coming from someone who believes in alien life, but would very much like to hear anybody's side of the argument.

So... let's debate.

Blizzard

I agree with you there. It's very ignorant to believe we would be the only intelligent life out there. Didn't people think the Earth was flat? Didn't people think the sun would revolve around the Earth? Didn't people think thunder was the wrath of gods? People think a lot and most of it is wrong.

well, you know, they could do something similar to what the Federation does in Star Trek. Observe, and when they are able to accept peaceful ways of doing things, communicate with them. do not interfere. We're probably being observed rather constantly. I doubt however that an alien would suddenly show up and say 'oh btw, we saw how you fucked up your own planet(even though we might not be) and we decided to be ubercredibly nice and fix your problems. btw we hope this doesn't make you any MORE lazy.'

Blizzard

Yeah, it's possible. It might even be a very likely that such a federation exists somewhere.

"Universal Life" is a very, very, very bad way of expressing "Extraterrestrial." Even though the latter is equally wrong, it is widely excepted to mean "alieans" in modern culture, whereas "Universal Life" means something more like "ompipresent life," which has several possible interpretations.

And I think that this debate will quickly shift into a debate over the meaning of "life" (33!), since our current scientific one is infinitely sucky.

Blizzard

As soon as it goes offtopic, it will be locked or split. Don't you worry about that. So stay on topic.

And yeah, I agree with LF. Universal life is a bad term for it. Extraterrestrial life isn't actually that bad. It means "life outside/away from Earth".

Not going to happen with me. xD
I simply don't waste time on thinking about it. I just think there probably is intelligent life out that and that's it. Nice to talk about it, though.

seriously it's bugs me, Global Warming. we've been tracking the earths temperature for, what? 200 years? it's been around, what? 4 billion? it might well be a Natural Cycle. >.>

anyway.

I doubt they'd make you their ruler. there are so many people who are born leaders, and those who think they are never actually are. and our technology is actually interesting. it just isn't flashy lookin, cuz we haven't figured out how to do that. although, if aliens could abduct us, they prolly would have some neat-o stuff, too. but if they're after medical analysis, they should prolly pick up a Bass instead of a human. Bass as in the fishy.

Personally... I also think it'd be cool if the USO took me to the underwater base. The aliens that have been camping in our deepest oceans will be like: look at the :n00b: and his highly undeveloped body.... are
those... fingers? Hair?  :...: Get him out of my sight. And I'll be like: from  :twitch: to  :( to this :'(

"And I've always wanted to meet you guys, too...!"  :'(

Back on topic: Well, I know they wouldn't make me there leader... but, if they did...

Who says that ET life has to be intelligent? I LOVE how everyone always assumes that they have spaceships. They could be incestual monkeys on a toxic fifth moon somewhere. Keep in mind the number of species on earth, and how many are sentient. Now think about the possibility.

^ Opinions?

well. we're talking about life able to communicate with us. it'd be horridly boring to say 'gee I wonder if we'll be able to find incestual monkeys on a toxic fifth moon somewhere. that'd be swell.'

Takes offense

Well maybe not all other life forms that exist are intelligent but there can be some that are there could be some that are not. We do not know. We may not know for a long time. To me I think that it is possible that they exist. They do not have to look like this

or this

or this even

they could exist as various other forms of life that even the greatest science fiction minds have not thought up.

It is possible for them to look like this

As for them communicating with us. Would it be very likely that they would know how to speak English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, etc. Unless they have studied us for years and learned our culture and ways then that is possible. Also if they are similar to us then our mannerisms may not be the same as theirs. Something we do to say hello could be an insult to them.

But I didn't read much else of this thread (bad munkey) I just seen incestual monkey and that made me laugh so I decided to throw what i had to say about things.

Blizzard

I agree. That there is ANY life out there is even more probable.

XD, I didn't read much of the topic, either, just wanted to put that point out.

The MINUTE that I saw that there was a reply from King Munkey, I was like...."I know what this is about, XD!"

@ Ulta -
I think you're right. People WANT it to be this crazy, mystical, terrifying, fantasy driven beast. If they were incestual King Muonkeys, it wouldn't have the same attraction. I completely agree.

They have been watching over humans for thousands of years now. Who's to say they haven't learned something about ANY language with the body reactions people make (And other stuff) after saying something?

EDIT: It just came to me that these life forms could've evolved so much, that they are really fast learners. And you know they must be capable of that if they have enough knowlage to build the space ships i takes to get to our planet in an instant.

So this proves my point.

Obviously they require evolution, natural selection, and verbalized communication to be sentient :V

Maybe they are complete idiots and stumbled upon a space ship wound up getting lost and making it to Earth and then they found out they humans and themselves are both on the same level. Idiots.

The space invaders. From the old arcade game of the same name.

Ok, no. XD

XD, really though, who's to say that they're capable of interstellar travel? WE aren't, and we're "intelligent."
