What is the best CMS?

Which one do you use?

Why DO you Use it?

Who makes the best CMSs?

Post it all below! :D

I no longer keep up with posts in the forum very well. If you have a question or comment, about my work, or in general I welcome PM's. if you make a post in one of my threads and I don't reply with in a day or two feel free to PM me and point it out to me.<br /><br />DropBox, the best free file syncing service there is.<br />

Best CMS? STCMS imo, seconded by mog. And when I make my CMS, I'll be in the same league (laughs, thinking about how people will react to the great plans I have)

The key word is 'free form' :naughty:

He means message system as in custom message system :P personally atm I like Ccoa's UMS for the text above player and so many other options but I have heard FTS and Blizz rave on about CP's CMS and I think knowing Blizz that that'lll be even better than Ccoa's UMS

Calintz

Well of course Stormtronics is in the top 3 of all time here, so many features!!

Nortos

Again "Custom Message System" not menu system

Actually, in terms of features, it's not true, Ccoa's CMS has lots of features, as it was made for a wide range of users, but CPMS was made only for, well, CP. Both of them are good on their own right, but if you ask me, CPMS pwns the UMS.

???
Maybe, but the fact that it was made for everyone, is the #1 reason it's so popular and perhaps the best out there.

Nortos

but CPCMS can't compete cos it isn't 'out there' or avaliable to the public

Calintz

I haven't seen anything is CPCMS that I haven't seen in UMS, though I may be wrong...

Nortos

that's because you haven't played Beta version I think FTS had and Blizz has

Calintz

Blizzard

Oh, you are saying that ccoa's UMS has THIS feature? ;D

Ignore that he's saying faceset. Originally I was going for it until I realized that it looks gay in CP and had a better idea.

Blizz, a screenshot can reveal only half the glory of CPMS! I guess you've kept it for the full game, then.

EDIT: Speaking of message systems, I guess I like Slipknot's system of 'scrolling' the text. And I like 'opening' and 'closing' effect in CPMS's windows. The UMS hasn;t got those features.

Do you see those "things" around the talking people on the map? Like that blue glowing objects when Lilith or Jason are talking, the green ones when Leximus is talking, etc.
Well, yeah... :naughty:

Ccoa's UMS is the best one. It is the easiest one to use, and is the most powerful!

darklight

I like derula's edit of DubeAlex's Advanced Message Script, but I'll give ccoa's UMS a try.

The demo release has been pushed back. In the meantime, you can check out my resources thread.
I'm also working on the project site - stay tuned for a launch very soon!

derula did that. I think one of the best features about derula's is the window fade-in. I like ccoa's except for a line height bug that I don't know how to fix (it will cut off the tail of the g's or y's if you don't "pad" the bottom), and her variable tags sometimes have extra space at the end.

What I'd like to see is scrolling action, like in the UCoder's CMS. The only problem with that one is the lack of an auto-resize.

PS: Here's a link to derula's, which is the one I use: http://uglyhorst.de/rPG%20Maker/rGSS-Scripts.txt

PS2: There's 2 message systems by derula, the R4 edit of DubeAlex's AMS, and a complete re-haul. The re-haul is the one I'm talking about above.
