You can post it here. I don't have to be ashamed of my weaknesses (my, sounds like a cheesy video game character quote  )
And bring the exemples. The more the merrier !

Your icons looks hardly shaded at all.


I can't really tell where the light source is on this one.

You also used a lot of solid black on your icons.

A basic rule of graphics is to never use pure colors such as #00000 (Black), #FFFFFF (White), #FF0000 (Red), etc.
Super highly saturated colors are also usually a no-no.
For the computer, perhaps just make it a dark grey instead of black.


On this sword, it doesn't seem like your normal style and barely looks colored.  All the colors look like a dull grey.
This would be a time where you would use a pretty saturated blue for the marking on the sword.
Also, it needs shading.

I'm not gonna comment much on the editted VX icons, since they're just edits... XD

The main thing you gotta work on is shading your icons and keeping a consistent style.


I'll show you some of mine and my shading style.
My style is also different from RTP, but it's smooth xD

To Aqua : OK for me.  I'll remember all of it.
But before sticking to only 1 style...
Which style should I choose (Ugly Test Weapon ) ?

I - : RTP Style. My least favorite.
II - : Blended Style. You use a variation of this one, no ?
III- : Xelias Style   Fusion of RTP-Style with strange reflect patterns. My favorite.

To Tazero : In my VX Icon Database I found that (Unknown Creator) : Would you like me to edit it before I make the grey drop ?

Those random reflects on Xelias style are kinda weird and random though

What program do you use?

@Aqua : I only use the reflect things on steel weapons. Zoom at 1600% and you will see it is not random AND there are more than 1 reflect color.
@Tazero : I use Photofiltre. However, I couldn't enlarge the droplet so I made a custom one.
