(back)
Sometimes people are so scared
or afraid of something, they do things
that they wouldn't want others to
do to them. The princess learned this
lesson the easy way.

Once upon a time in a far away land, lived a baby dragon.
This Dragon was small and very shy. He couldn't breath fire.
He couldn't even fly yet. The other dragons made fun of him.
"You can't fly. You can't fly." They teased and made him cry.

Then one day a young and beautiful princess came.
She saw the baby dragon and smiled. You know what she did?
She kidnapped the baby dragon and locked him in the tallest tower.
"Help! Help!" cried the baby dragon, but the other dragons didn't come to
help him. They were scared of the young princess because because she
was beautiful.

Then one day in the distance the princess saw something.
It was very far away, but it came closer and closer. It was a big
and scary dragon. It stomped with every step. Stomp stomp stomp
went the ground. The earth shocked very hard with every stomp.

The dragon marched up to the door very quickly
and raised his gaint hand and started to bang on
the door. The whole castle shaked. The princess
thought it was an earth quake. Bang bang bang
went the door.  The princess wondered why he
wasn't using the door bell.

He took a deep breath. The princess started to cleaning
up the mess. Which was caused by the shaking of the
castle. "What a mess," she said. Then she heard a
voice outside the castle. It spoked very deep and loud,
"Princess you have kidnapped our young friend and that's
not right. We want him back."

The princess rushed to a window of the tower. She
climbed up the stairs. Up and up and up the tower she
climbed. She peeked her little head out the tower
and looked down. She saw a dragon at the door.
He was very big and had sharp teeth. She gasped
at the thought that she would be gobbled up.

The shined on his spiky green scales. They
looked very sharp. She turned her head and saw
the dragon was bigger than a house. The dragon looked
up at her. She screamed very quietly to herself.
The dragon smiled at her with his sharp white teeth and said,
"Well, will you let our friend go?"

The princess was very scared and couldn't answer
for a long time. She gathered her courage and
answered as calmly as she could, "If I let him go,
will you promise me that you will not kidnap me and
put me in a tower?" The dragon looked at her confused,
not sure how to answer the question. The princess was
very scared and worried that he would just burn the castle
down to the ground.

The dragon finally nodded and replied, "Of course not.
We had no intention in kidnapping you at all. So yes
of course I promise." The princess looked confused and
spoke to him, "But in all the stories the princess is always
kidnapped by a dragon and put in a tower."

The dragon looked at her for a moment and shook
his head. He knew why the princess had kidnapped
the baby dragon, but that didn't make it right. He sighed
and  said calmly, "My dear, you shouldn't judge someone
based on a story. If a story says something it doesn't
always mean it's true."

The princess started to cry. She knew now that he was
right and she had jumped to conclusions to quickly. She
didn't mean to cause any trouble. So she went to the tallest tower
and let the baby dragon out of the room. She walked all the way
to the door with him, and said weeping, "I'm sorry for the trouble I caused.
Can you ever forgive me?" You know what happened next?

They forgave her. They knew she was scared of being locked up,
and she did kept good care of their baby dragon, for the room she
locked him up in was her own bedroom, with comfy beds and lots of toys.
From that day on the princess and the dragons played together in peace and
harmony, and the other dragons never made fun of the baby dragon,
because even though he couldn't fly, he could fit through a door.
The end.
