So.  Relationships grow more when.... you know everything about that person, or you share a lot of experiences with that person?

Now, have at it.

If you mean romantic relationships, then I have no idea, as I've never been in one. With friends, though, you don't really want to know everything about them.

Romantic relationships are similar. It's best to keep some things hidden for the time being, but in the end you can't be fully romantic if you hide things indefinitely.

Also, lol generalization.

(Hexamin)

Haha YES generalization for hypothetical reasoning.  Anyway, I think actions speak louder than words, and if people just took time to spend with each other they'll end up growing much closer than just getting to know that person through dates/conversations.

I think its best when you keep your girlfriend locked up in the basement... You have no idea how close you can get until you see someone scared and cold :haha:

(Thats a joke by the way, I only keep DEAD bodies in my basement, not live ones.)

Tazero

Being someone who cares for another wanting the partner(other) feeling comfortable around you is key.

Wanting to share things they themselves don't want to hear, take a hint don't talk about it anymore.

Me and my friends we hide nothing from each other only everyone else =P.

That's because you're a guy. Girls would think differently. I know a few who I've talked to about this and they like talking more than they like activities. But don't take this as a solve-all.

fugibo

holmesian induction, damn it.

the human mind can learn any and all facts under any and all situations, provided the right prior knowledge.

in other words, i just learn.

(Hexamin)

Yeah, constant longing to know the other person might be key.  "Marriage" should just be a commitment to learning your spouse for the rest of your life.  It just sucks for you if you married a lame-o who stopped growing as a person and has nothing new to ever offer.

And yeah, girls probably do enjoy talkin' over other activities, but who's to say that's actually best?  If you go on adventures with the gal, you'll end up talkin' at points, and you'll have that adventure that'll belong to the two of you foreverrrr.

I don't know about you, but I lead a fairly normal life.

Landith

I hate relationships. Period. For exactly that reason. They are just so annoying. And when you try to know everything about the other person, that's when it becomes annoying. I would just act normal around the person and not play 100 questions. As time progresses if you actually pay attention to what they are saying(most guys don't) then you will know what you need to know to keep the relationship going. You have to work at it and not annoy the hell out of someone trying to learn everything about the person.

Now if the girl loves to talk about herself then you can play 100 questions. Otherwise just treat her like another girl. Pampering girls leads you to becoming whipped. Becoming whipped leaves your world revolving around her and when ya'll break up, your world is pretty much screwed. Try to keep a balance in relationships. Friends == Relationship. Relationship !> Friends.

I've also learned that girls love to be with their friends as well as you so if you can, try to double-date or go out in a group of friends every now and then. Don't just base it around sexual things either. Actually talk with them.

Now onto what this topic is about. Relationships won't grow when you know everything about someone because then you literally have nothing to talk about except what happened that day and that is just dull. I believe you should go with the flow and say what's on your mind. (That is if what your thinking is appropriate for that date/setting)

(This is just from my point-of-view. Things might be different with you and I wouldn't follow anything I just said, as I'm single 90% of the time by choice.)

Relationships are just a passtime anyway, a game usually, and a waste of time most of the time.

If I'm supposed to be with someone I'll be with them.  Just like I'll die when I'm supposed to whether I'm here in Iraq or at home on the shitter.  Lol

I see it like this: Why not? If I can have a "relationship", why not? Sex is nice (after all). :borat:

Lol, I'm actually pretty damn anti-war.  We all make stupid mistakes though, right?  Besides, if I'm not over here, who else will be?  We could do a lotto-draft, that might be more entertaining than a volunteer army.  Haha.

I'm a pacifist, but some people I know joined the army not to go to war but to restructure their lives and get money for college.

Blizzard

I'm a pacifist myself. That's why I said female soldier. If you get what I mean. :naughty:
