How do you get ready to code?

I stuff my face with skittles until I'm sick, grab some water, and jump straight into documentation + source editing.

I have many things I may do before I code. Grab a snack. A soda perhaps. Take a nap. Put it off for a week or two. Perhaps even put it off for a month or so.

Before I start coding usually, I grab a Mountain Dew or 2. Turn on some music and I code whatever.

Kill a few babies in sacrifice to an occult power, drink the blood of virgins, orgies, ect...

If I'm try to code in assembler I take a massive shit beforehand so I don't have to get up for hours.

Interesting.  I just do it on the fly.  Even if its going to be a long 5-10 hour session, I don't really do any preparation at all.

I no longer keep up with posts in the forum very well. If you have a question or comment, about my work, or in general I welcome PM's. if you make a post in one of my threads and I don't reply with in a day or two feel free to PM me and point it out to me.<br /><br />DropBox, the best free file syncing service there is.<br />

The only precondition that I need is not being hungry. :3 I put on music only when I need to isolate my mind from the outside so I can focus on the code.

It's funny, I use my music as a break.  I start out with complete silence, then when I start getting distracted/tired, I turn on the music for around 30 minutes while coding.  I somehow feel better and code faster afterwards.

fugibo

I can "just code," but if I want to go into a six-hour session I usually want to feel like crap so that I can be aggressive with it.

lol i dont really do anything to prep either i usually play my music any time im on my pc unless im watching vids

Sorry, I will no longer be scripting for RMXP. I may or may not give support for my scripts. I don't have the will to script in RGSS anymore.

I think he does that to make himself go deaf so he doesn't get distracted while coding.

I mysrlf prepare myself for coding by burning down some govermental buildings and slaughterhouses and afterwards just kill some nazis. This just gets me in the perfect mood for scripting a few thousand lines in ruby.

xD I was kidding Dio. I haven't listened to J-Pop since Aqua made me listen to Wonder Girls. I mean they were kinda
good but I def don't listen to them when scripting :P

I open up the programs, then watch an episode of deathnote (helps me get into the coding mindset, for some reason). THen I grab a box of crackers and a bag of pretzels, turn on some JPop (helps me concentrate on coding) and start coding away.

Back on topic, I must admit that in order to make any noticeable progress on my 3rd person camera, I had to sit down with some paper and work it out.  So I guess I use paper if I have to solve mathematically or logically complex problems.  On the other hand, I just wrote the whole save data structure with no preparation whatsoever.

Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari
Amazing song. Kinda typical, but awesome at the same time.

Melt 3M Mix
Really popular song, but fucking great.

PianoxFortexScandal
Jazzy song with a super sexy voice.

disillusion-2010-
Remake of disillusion, an amazing song to begin with.

These are all musics I use for all purpose pumping up.
