Is it possible to undo an overwrite?

I accidentally overwrote the scripts.rxdata of my game and now several months of coding is lost  
I tried right-click > undo moving. Somehow it didn't work. I have run undelete, doesn't work as nothing is deleted, just overwritten. Damn, do anyone know a way I can restore it?

Not really. Do you have an older backup by any chance? When I used to work on my game, I made a backup of the whole project each time I was done for the day and I usually kept a few backups backwards including a few backups that were several months old.

Hopefully, writing it again will make it better than it originally would.

I backup my game every few weeks into an encrypted, password secured 7zip archieve, which I then copy to be even more save. I'm that awesome.
You should do something like that, too. But probably not as extreme.

Consider yourself lucky, Valdred. I lost ALL of my game. Graphics, events, maps... everything that it's made out of. Gone.

It pissed me off so much, and made me lose so much motivation... I don't even think I want to use RMXP again. At least, not with the same game. Meh, I'm going to be working on a game with Game_Guy, anyways.
