Do not send us any money as our payment processing accounts are now unattended. PayPal will not award a claim to a customer for a non-tangible item.  If you have an active PayPal Subscription, please cancel it now.

Our support system is now offline and our email addresses are now all unattended.

Our shared hosting servers will remain online for 1 month. They will be powered down on April 3rd, 2008.

Customers with domain names registered with us will receive infomation from the domain name registrar over the course of this month containing information on how to access their domain name. i.e. transfer secret & nameserver info.

Dedicated server customers will receive information shortly with information on how to make payments directly to the datacenter where they are leased from. You will no longer have to pay our monthly maintenane fee, so will see a decent drop in price.

I can move CP to freehostia for free temporarily, but I'd like to keep my domain.

nixism.com is cheap, but not overselling. I was considering it as alternative to koreru when I was picking a host a few months ago. Another alternative would be 110mb.com which is free, but you have to pay the SQL database. So I could consider it even as final host.

That sucks. : ( I recommend dreamhost.org too, although it's not free. dot5 was great before, but now their customer service sucks. And I would never in a million years recommend goDaddy, ever. I guess you'll just have to see where they're going to forward you to.

If worse comes to worst, I'd be happy to host the community for a few months on my own site while you find a new one. I like this community more than CA or .org (although I'm always looking in CA's Script Archives ), and I'd hate to see it shut down.

Myspace you don't want to abbreviate. All people usually state out Myspace anyway, and if Ulta has one, IT would have to force out the gender. Also, I would find it on a Google Search, provided Ulta's Myspace name would be UltaFlame. But that isn't so.

How is the new server going, Blizz?

I have it pretty much planned.

1. Moving data to new host.
2. New forum points to the same database. That means you can post on any of the two forums, it's practically the same.
3. Change the DNS of chaos-project.com. At one point it will point at the new server, people won't ever notice the difference. DNS changes take from 24 up to 72 hours.
4. Take the forum down for a few minutes, download the database, upload it on the new host and make the forum point to the new location.
5. Done.

The thing is just that I doubt that I will be able to do that as I don't know the SQL server of our current host. -_- That means most probably it'll go like this:

1. Moving data to new host.
2. Take the forum down for a few minutes, download the database, upload it on the new host and make the forum point to the new location.
3. Make forum.chaos-project.com show a message with a temporary location of the new host (it'll be most probably cproject.99k.org and/or blizzard.110mb.com) until the DNS is updated.
4. When the DNS gets updated, it's done.

This will go through without a downtime as well, but I want to spare people clicking at the redirection link if I can. -_-

If I have to change the server twice (once temporarily, once for real), then this will have to happen twice which I want to avoid. It depends on my friend. If I can talk to her in the next couple of days, there won't be a temporary host. If not, I'll have to talk to her later and have to use a temporary host so all the data doesn't get lost. -_-
