Well if you think about it, technically its Equipped so there for its not with the other Items.

Just out of curiosity, when have you ever acquired 99 of the same equip-able item in any game? (unless it's worthless and you're not going to use it). It's not much of a problem.

If there's ever a point when the player is far enough to buy 99 of any given item, the chances of it being good enough for them to have it equipped on all four party members is slim to nil. Besides, if they have 99 of it and can buy more at their leisure, I don't think they're going to miss four more.

I've played several rpg's, I have never bought more then 99 weapons. I only bought weapons I needed. Now items are a different story but still you dont equip items.
