It's an alright first attempt. What software do you use? I can give you suggestions for software to better your recolor.

Unless, of course, that's the style you desire.

Silentknight72

use Photoshop CS(3/4/5). it's good.
if u use this u can make it about 2 minutes.
and shading is not the same, you can ask me if you want to do a good recolor.

Not everyone can afford PS... :P

How about you get GIMP instead? It may have a pain in the ass GUI, but it's the next best thing.

SBR*

I always use GraphicsGale, Branden.

You must be pretty desperate.

Fixed. I was talking to you, Branden.

Spaceman McConaughey

Well, SBR*. I do not see how that's supposed to help me? I already have PS CS4, I do not need GraphicsGale. Just drop it.

SBR*

It was more a suggestion for other options.

Then why the hell do you tell me? I told you, I do not need a suggestion. So quit it, and tell someone else.

SquareMan

I think this tread is starting to go off topic between SBR* and Branden, so shut up before you get the thread locked!

Don't tell me to shut up. I tried to help you, for Christ-sakes.

But out of kindness, I'll try and help you. In PS, the "magic wand tool", obviously the easiest(but most awful) way for you to recolor your sprites.

When you select the area of the sprite, set your foreground color first, then pick the "selection tool", right click on it and select "fill", set the blend mode to "color" and check on "Preserve Transparency", and press "OK". Tuh-duh, you've recolored a part of your sprite and made it look better than that one up there in an incredibly inefficient way.

Figure out the more advanced methods yourself(they are so simple to figure out, too), or have someone else tell you.

How's that for on topic, eh?
