[XP] IP Addresses and Logs?

Introduction

I am looking for a add-on/Script that registers Users Sign up IP as well as Last Logged in IP Logs.
I want to use this to keep unwanted users outside the server(s), so they cannot annoy or overdo rules again and again.(hopefully you get the picture! ;P)
The problem is, i have been looking on the forum under the search results: 'IP', 'IP Address' and 'IP Add-on', but no succes...
Hopefully there is someone that has experience in creating such a useful script like this. <3

What it should be look like

• Logging the IP address of the user that newly signed up on the server for SQL.


• Logging all the IP address of all the signed up users that have signed up on the choosen server.(TXT Document)


• Showing the current IP address of the users that has connected to the choosen server.


• And of course the script for RPGXP that checks the IP Address and send it over to the SQL database.


• Optionally shows the country of the IP Address that has currently connected to the server.

Hopefully someone knows a script and add-on that is related to this.

It would be much easier to simply log all IPs into the database when somebody registers or logs in. RMXP has nothing to do with IP addresses, only the server needs to know about the IP addresses. You can get a list of all IP addresses by simply using an SQL query on the table with all the IPs.

If you want to know the country of an IP address, that IP has to be verified by an external service and there's no way somebody will make RMX-OS connect to another server to check the country of an IP. Making that work in RMX-OS properly would take weeks while it would take you a minute to visit a site and enter the IP of which you want to know the country.

I can add logging of IPs natively in RMX-OS. It takes half an hour to one hour to do that. You will have to wait a bit, though since my laptop is currently broken.

Can always be useful to spot possible hackers or ban avaiders.

And about that Country thing.
There are games that fetches it through SQL Databases and/or .dat files.
As example, i have seen an IP To Country modification for PHPBB2 and PHPBB3 forums which does use the SQL Database to check which country that IP comes from.
But that feature isn't really needed.
Would only be lovely to see IP address feature with banning.
As example, that someone can't login due to a ban on their IP Address.

I'll add that as an option. I'll probably call it "USE_IP_BANNING" or something like that.

that would mean, if someone is banned on their IP Address and this feature is enabled, so they can't connect to the server due to IP Address ban?
This would also mean that the Server needs an add-on for the IP Address connect check? o.o

No, this will work already if you have the option for IP banning. No add-on will be needed. I can easily get match the user's IP against all IPs of all banned users (with "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ips JOIN users ON ips.user_id = users.user_id WHERE banned = 1 AND ips.ip = 'IP_OF_THIS_USER'" which will return 1 or more if the user is banned) and simply tell the client that the username is banned which will cause the game to tell the player that he's banned.

BTW, I just noticed that you censored the passwords in the screenshot. That was unnecessary as they are encrypted and it's not possible to get the original password from the one stored in the database. *points to the part in the documentation where that is explained*

You never know if a hacker may be interested in finding password out.
Like PHPBB forums, those are mostly the target for hackers also due to this SQL thing.. =.=
However, i guess i should stop posting, until the little modify is done with the IP Addresses support. ^^

There are literally infinite combinations which translate into the encrypted password string. Trust me, this kind of password cannot be reverse engineered except with brute force and nobody's gonna try quadrillions of combinations to find one that works.

Have been waiting for days to see such a useful feature like this one, or maybe i have overlooked through it in an updated Client/Server?

I am going to buy a new laptop tomorrow. If they have one in stock, I'll get it tomorrow, if not, then during the next few days. I'll see if I can find some time during this week to make this work. It's not difficult or requires much time, I just need to find some time to do it.

Most laptops are very expensive... even more expensive than a new Desktop PC... O_o
You also have an idea which laptop you may want to buy?
HP/Compaq has a very great customer service, like on my work, we do almost daily call them for support of broken parts or components that may be broken down.... most likely Compaq laptops we sale. xD
It's stupid i can't use my laptop games due to CPU and GPU overheating during gaming for only 15 minutes.... so now i only use it for business stuff ^^
However, i will be waiting for it... Good luck with finding the laptop that meets your requirements.

I already had 2 HPs and none lasted a year. HP is overpriced crap.

I'm getting an ASUS N60DP-JX019. After careful research, comparison of benchmarks of CPUs and GPUs and pricing I have come to the conclusion that this laptop is the optimum choice in the price range I was looking for.

EDIT: Alright, I implemented it. Get v1.15.

Looks like it works, it's a shame that i only see the IPs in the Database but not on the server terminal, but should be good as well!

You can always run the additional utility script I added that will give you IP matches for all users. Usually it's not necessary to know when a user connects from an IP but only the IP itself.

@G_G: That must be a newly installed Windows, she probably never got the chance to install Firefox/Opera/Chrome/Safari yet. :V
