PHASED SCAR'S DOODADS AND ICON WORKSHOP IS NOW OPEN!

My workshop is being redone in an effort to keep placing resources out there.  The rules are simple and will be explained in a minute.  So you know I wont be taking any further request simply because I don't have the time to fill them out.  I'M SORRY FOR THIS!  But I have too many other things going on in my life  

Anyway, here's how it's going to work:

Basics

Everything is going to be organized just as it was before, with links for individual saves.  I'll update the zip file now and again, and I'll hopefully have two of them, one for fantasy icons, another for sci-fi icons.  That way there's a nice broad spectrum of things to get.

I'll do my best to keep the level of detail as high as I possibly can.

What you need to know

I'm doing this in my spare time.  I'm rarely alone or not working, so time is sparing with these.  I do it for fun and so everyone can enjoy the icons I'm making.  So please, be patient.  I'll try my damndest to get things out there!

All icons are 24x24 format, which means they're for RMXP.  I'm unsure as to the icon sizes for VX since I haven't used it.

These are rather large icons, some getting as much as 128 Kbs+.  That's because of the transparencies and multitude of color used.  However they are proven to work perfectly in RMXP, just be aware that massive uses of these icons can increase the size of your game considerably.  And can cause lag in older (I'm talking 10 year old computers with 512Mbs of ram) comps.

AND FINALLY

All icons are free for your use.  PROVIDING THAT YOU GIVE CREDIT IN YOUR CREATION FOR ME.  These are all unique creations made by me, this is my intellectual property! So please be respectful and give me credit.

Yeah I can do that, right now it's actually got a transparent backround which means you can use it like a picture.

@ Susys  It actually looks excellent with the regular grass, I plan to make a clear version in the future so you can use it on any tileset

if you open it up in MS paint as is it'll have a white backround standard, just RMXP reads it as transparent.  But since you need a version without the glow I'll give that to ya in a bit

Ok, I have both icons ready for you Fallen Star, if there's anything else you need just send me a private message and I'll respond when I can check it out!

Oh, and Susys, I got the water auto-tile ready to use.
Water Auto-tile2 Version 1.5

The only downside to this one is that you have to use the 2nd layer of the map editor.  Fortunately I can give it any other autotile backround you need for any map of your choosing   Just be sure to send me a message and I'll post up different versions for each one.  Oh, and as far as the reason why there isn't any animation in the water itself... well, that's mainly because I haven't figured out how to make the animation smooth with all the changes in direction.  It was pretty complicated to get what I have there done.  Don't worry though, I'll probably end up coming up with something later

I would have had like..  30 different icons done already if I didn't have about half a bagillion things going right now.  Those only took about 15 minutes to make each.

Yes, this is a CP forums exclusive.  I've noticed quite a helpful community here I thought to myself "well, if I'm going to help other with their games, this is definitely the place" and so I decided to make this workshop

Everything is free for public use so long as I get credit for it in your game.  The only time there will be any private icons for games will be done through the message system and wont be posted publicly.

Anyway, I think I'll make a whole demon, maybe including some armor.  It may be a while for that so bear with me

Well, i need one small icon, actually 2..

First one should be a staff. just a regular wooden staff with some orb(ish) thing on top. the orb can be what color you like, if you decided to make more colors i wouldnt complain. =)

And second i need a bow. without an arrow or anything just a bow..

Sure thing, it actually doesn't take long to make complicated tree tops.  It's make a single leaf and cut and paste mostly.

Do you want things like wooden walkways, tree-houses, and things of that sort?  Also if you're thinking like giant trees where you can walk on limbs and possibly huge leaves, I'll do that too.

It's more like a Kingdom in the trees...Like the castle tileset edited to be like a Fairy Kingdom, but also in the treetops with all of those features that you mentioned earlier...

Progress update:

Since it takes time to make tilesets I'll give you progress updates now and again.

For the Tree Castle-Village thing this is what I have so far.  It's no where near complete but I just want you to have an idea in case you want a change.  Also there's a lot of things missing (like the branches and such) so just let me know if there's anything there you want changed.  I'll also be editing what is there to blend into the tileset more.

Yeah, I've been extremely busy lately and haven't had any real time to work on these.  Thankfully I got some free time tonight so I'll probably be working on a few new icons, Calintz's tileset as well as my own, and I'll be updating them soon.

(as a teaser I'll be releasing the first few heavenly weapons, armors, as well as the first piece of demon armor)

And I was thinking Calintz, I can make a panarama to work with your tileset so it actually looks like you're over some trees.  It'll make it a little easier to get a tileset the proper size and everything, and I'll be editing the stuff there right now to blend in more with the whole tree forest theme, adding in layering stuff so it looks like your buildings are nestled into trees.  Stuff like that, but it'll be a while yet before I get it done .  Thankfully I got most of the templates done to do that, so it's just a matter of shading and texturing.

When I get the next version of your tileset out I'll also release a screenshot to let you know how it looks and how it works.

I didn't get as much done as I wanted to tonight, but I got the first Heavenly Sword, gun, 3 new offensive spell, the first defensive spell icons ALL brand new and hot off the press.  As well as updated the dark leather armor I currently had up, smoothed it out and made it generally a little prettier.

I had planned a vacation for the week and then I have to do stuff for a new job the week after so I'm not sure if I'll get it done in time

I know it's not close to what you want, but it's getting there, it's mostly cut and past and then some tweaking to get your treetop going, then I guess I'll do some cut and pasting to make the panarama to work behind it.

Actually they're the middle layer for the tree tops, it just doesn't make sense right now because they aren't shaded, and cleaned up.  It'll make more sense when I start adding leaves to it.

I've tested out the one bridge and I'll have the ones that go horizontally for you in a bit.

Lol, i thought those orange blobs were supose to be a bridge but they are tree branchs but why are they so big? ???

Mainly because they're meant to make the tree canopy make sense if a village will be there.  I mean after all, how could you support an entire city on firewood? 

It's just for ambiance and it works well in game so far.  I'll be altering it more as I go since I don't really like how this whole stone thing is working out.  Plus I saw Calintz mention huts and everything, so I wanted to get the whole theme going.

The big leaves were for the same basic reason, just to make it look like you're in a gargantuan tree.

Phasedscar, you are going to simply hate me for this, but it truly is better to tell you now than to wait until you complete the whole tileset.

I'm gonna ask you to stop construction on that tileset that I requested from you. I am sooo sorry Phasedscar, it's just that I have been making my own treetop tileset, and the results are nothing short of mirraculous!! Most objects taken in compilation and a few things edited, made this tileset match the rest of the RTP perfectly, which is what I ultimately wanted. I didn't think my tileset would turn out this good, though because it has, I just have no use for yours.

This is outta my character, and I wouldn't blame you if you never worked another request of mine again. I am truly "srry" I know what it feels like to do something for someone, and have them simply bail on you. I am grateful for what you did thus far, but as stated earlier, I'd rather tell you know, then have you finish the whole thing and me not use it then.

Maybe you should finish it anyways...I'm positive that I'm not the only person who has ever had the thought of having a tree-top map in their game, and maybe other ppl would like to use it instead of me.

P.S. I really really am sorry Phasedscar. I will power you up for what you've completed thus far.

After all, we're really here just for the fun of creating something.  I'm going to keep working on your tileset though and have it match my own a little more closely, and use it for my own game, but I'm going to quit focusing on the compatibility of it, and modify it heavily towards my own needs.

So...  I'm going to pull it off the boards for now since it'll be so heavily changed that it wont be usable by others.

Don't feel bad at all Calintz, I needed a similar tileset for my own game and working on yours gave me a new perspective and outlook on how to complete the ones for my own game.  Learned a lot of do's and don'ts on making it, so all around I'm happy to have had the chance.

I am sorry however, for never finishing yours, but I'm am truely glad you got what you needed for your own game.  Be sure to post a screen shot of your completed town village when you get a chance!

I actually haven't worked on it since Calintz.  Just not enough time  :-\  That and I just don't need it for my demo which I want to have in beta before August, so it'll be a long time coming.

And so you guys know, I'm going to try and average 4 now icons a day now.  If I miss a day I'm probably going to be releasing more than 4 the next day (with exception to some weekends when I have to go out of town).  I will be adding these incrimentally!  Which means even if I have a ton in the works I'm going to release them over time mainly to insure that I have the time to do a good job on them.

Anyway...  This means that in about 30 days from now I'm going to try and have about 160-180 icons ready for you guys!

Do you do sprites for traps? I would like something similar to the legend of Zelda series:

It is this blade that sits in place, but once you cross it's path, it flies at you. It should be a sharp, circular blade...

These are phenominal! Im really having trouble believing what im looking at, the detail for such small pics is amazing (i tried to do a shield, it turned out mediocre, nothing like these.) Just a sugestion (not a personal request) but some whips would be nice (if you do, plz just make em public.)

Hey^^
I'm making a postapocalyptic Sci-Fi game and I'll use the ring menu, so could you please make the icons for the following commands:
"Items" (IDK what you could do for this, please be creative XD)
"Skills" (These are mainly special functions of weapons)
"Equuipment" (A gun perhaps? IDK)
"Status"
"Options" (The BlizzABS pre-menu, a cogweel perhaps?)
"File"

The graphics of my game are mostly black and white or with low saturation, a rusty, old looking cogweel is a picture i use very often. Everything looks kinda... industrial^^. I'll upload some pictures for reference if you need them (You will need them, probably, I'm not good in describing the style of my game)

Phasedscar doesn't seem to be active anymore. Who knows what happened to him. Maybe he has to go to college. His last login seems to be during June 2nd, which is a really long time ago. You can try contacting him in other means, but I wouldn't expect a response.

I really apologize for the very LONG absence.

A lot has happened since I last logged in, namely moving 3 times, finding a job, and living with my girlfriend.  I've started reworking my project and started working on both classical and sci-fi icons.  It may be a while to update things since life is still hectic.  But I wanted to let you guys know that I'm back, and hopefully for a good long while.

To everyone who's made request, I'm sorry 
I'll try to do them if you still need them, though I'm not going to be working any more request from now on.  I simply don't have the time.  However I'll start reposting resources now and again with my new icons I'm making for my reworked project.  It's going to be considerably more science fiction oriented, so start expecting things like lazer rifles, tetronic whips, or whatever have you.

I may keep putting up custom doodads as well, not sure though.


Anyway, again, sorry for my long long absence.  It's good to be back after nearly a year of not having time to work on my game.  Look forward to working with you all again.

I'm quite surprised at the amount of work that's been done to this site since I was last on, especially all the wonderful new scripts  .  I hope to be posting on a coupe of templates that can be used for a larger than normal Blizz-ABS style game.
Until I get more up, I want to put these.  They're simple front on templates.
