CP Error?

->Hi everyone, I'm having problems with accessing the forum... This is what shows up when I try to connect to CP:

I don't know what the hell those words mean. BTW, I'm accessing it through a cloaking website (I'm sorry!) and my friends can access it... Am I banned or something? If not, may I know what's wrong? Is it on my side? How can it be fixed? If I am, may I at least know why? If I think it's a valid reason enough, I'll stop using this cloaking website & stop trying to log on... But I highly doubt it since I didn't do anything ban-worthy anyway, most people even did worse...

I'd like to inform all spammers & trolls out there that I won't believe what they say, unless it comes from a mod or Blizz... Thanks!

Honestly, I've just had the same problem.

After trying to figure out what's wrong, I took a look at the error logs. They showed that the site was tried to be accessed from spammer IPs. The funny thing is, the IPs were inverted. So my actual IP was X.Y.Z.W and the IP logged as spammer IP was W.Z.Y.X and I couldn't access it. It's possible that the host took some measures against spammers and overdid it a bit. I solved the problem here by resetting my router. If it happens again to you, try another cloaking site (or in case of somebody else, reset your router to get a new IP). I hope they will strip down the tight security a bit so this doesn't repeat.

try unplugging it, it might work, but i dont know, considering i bum my internet from my neighbors

It should be enough if you turn it off and on. Also, if you are getting the problems through a proxy only, then there is no need to reset your router.

It depends on your provider. Mine only resets my IP address about every four months or so. Or rather, mine back at home did that. Here at college, everything's just all screwed up to begin with.

Proxies are often associated with and used by spammers so proxy IPs are obviously banned. Access CP properly.

At first I was confused and then I realized Blizz prolly has little control over the ban on proxy IPs.

It's something unrelated to the forum. You can literally prohibit access to the server from certain IPs or IP ranges. Our host probably did a variation on that using possible spam IP ranges with checking of specific message and data patterns.

as Blizz said this web host has put measures in place to block spam bots. these measures block specific POST activity (POST being the http protocol that websites) uses to receive user data form browsers. there is NOTHING that can be done about it. it is annoying yes, live with it for now because it isn't going away unless Blizz changes hosts.

the reason reseting your router would work is you would get a new. but this only happens if you have set up your id as a dynamic one.

I already went into my router's control panel and manually made it reset the IP. Reset comp, tried to post, and still get that error. >.<

then the ip it gave you is still in the effected range.

but really this is a fairly small community to have this many people effected by this is stupid. IPerhaps a formal complaint to the host is in order? when you pay for service you should get service.

I agree, this is very stupid that such a huge range of IP's are blocked, and I'm not sure if my router will go out of whatever range it's sticking to when it resets. I can see it's changing every reset, but it is staying in a close range each time. This stinks, I need help with something but less I high-jack another thread I can't post at all >.<

EDIT: After a few mails back and forth...

We have checked on the issue and found that the IP that are mentioned in your last reply are blocked on many spam blocking portals and that is why the clients wtih the mentioned IPs are not able to browse the website.

In order to fix this issue , clients will need to delist their IPs from spam blocking portals so that they can browse the websites without any issues.

This is referring to the IPs that you guys have been using. So you will probably have to contact your ISPs about that issue and tell them to check their IPs, get rid of spammers and get their IPs and IP ranges unlisted from those portals.

EDIT: BTW, our host doesn't have a spam protection mechanism. So it's neither your nor mine nor our host's fault but your ISPs' fault. Lol!

This is damn ridicules. I have reset the router so many times, restarted my system, even called up and have a new range set for my router and asked about this and they haven't done anything new with spam blocking protocols that would cause this kind of issue.

But I'm still unable to post! No other forums or sites are effected, ONLY HERE! ;.;

it's your Ip range. just changing your IP dosn't help much because your new ip will still be part of a group. you need to call your ISP and get them to remove your IP's from the spam blocking services. it likely won't work immediately after they say it's fixed. it might take a week

I DID call them. I said that. They told me they hadn't done any recent changes and that my IP's were not included in any of their spam blocking services. This is the only forum I get this error on, none of the other forum or sites I go to and am active on pop up with this. This is the only forum!

It's not just your IPs, it's all of the IPs that they give out. Maybe it's even their whole host data as such. You should consider changing your ISP if they are that reluctant to look into the problem. IMO a good service that doesn't offer proper support sucks more than a bad service with good support.

But they did give me support, I don't see where you're thinking they didn't look into the problem. I was on the phone with them for nearly an hour (had a nice lady that was very patent) to try and debunk this. They had no recent changes to their systems in the last two months that should have magically started causing this, their range of IP's are not listed in any spam blocking portals that they could see. If the IP's were blocked, shouldn't it effect more then just this forum alone? I don't have this issue anywhere else on any site, forum or such, and I don't think having this come up on just one single forum warrants calling my isp bad and deemed need of a change (something we wouldn't be able to afford anyway).
