This is an unfinished CBS I worked on around winter 2006-2007.

Semi-TBS Demo

Overdrive doesn't work yet, some skills might not work, the game might freeze up. And it CAN happen that the status display goes crazy, but that's very unlikely, since I think I fixed all issues. You'll see what I mean with that. ;)

Anyway... Viviatus has nothing against that I give out the code of this system and I will do so. It uses RTAB 1.16 by Minkoff as backbone and has several custom scripts by me in there. If you decide to take this code and continue developing, you HAVE TO give credit to Viviatus for the system development and me (Blizzard) for the coding.

Reminds me of Chronos Trigger battle system, kind of. And it looks uber professional.
Do you like ambient/electronic music? Then you should promote a talented artist! Help out here. (I'm serious. Just listen to his work at least!)

Let's see if somebody actually finished this and uses it in his game. xD Would be interesting since it is a new type of CBS, unlike the others that are already present.

superbump, I'll give it a shot, lol

edit: ok I played it, it's totally badass.
I haven't had any crashes or anything with it yet, but I'll put it to some use, and see what I can do.
instead of Semi-TBS, maybe 'Dynamic Movement Battle System' or DMBS might be a better name choice :P

Feel free to name it however you like. I only named it Semi-TBS because of the half-tactical character of the CBS and because there was supposed to be a "Move" command.

Very cool.

I wonder if there's an easy way to implement those animated bars in my system.

I'll post a demo of my game in a bit to show you guys what I mean.

I'm still wondering if I can use those animated bars for SP in my game.

Can they be set to increase AND decrease smoothly?

Blizzard

The bars increase and decrease "smoothly" because their value changes each frame. It has nothing to do with an additional system.

Oh I see.

Anyone know any animated bar scripts I could use for SP?
