When you know it's a joke, you play along. Obviously we can't fool everybody. But when you figure it out, you join in. This is supposed to be fun, to be lighthearted, to be just messing around. Honestly, I expected more from our community. I expected that you guys are laid back. I guess I was wrong.

Note: Sub was banned because he posted porn three times.  He was convinced this was a joke from the start so his 'rebelling against authority' excuse does not hold water.  He was being overly disruptive and broke the original rules, much less the (fake) nazi rules.  His ban stays.

As for the joke going too far, take a GOOD look at yourself. Who was persistently posting and reposting how it's an April Fools joke instead of playing along? Who kept spamming the forum with messages about how it's an April Fools joke? Before you blame us for taking it anywhere, first take a look at yourself. Our actions were merely reactions to your actions.

Nam, in case you didn't notice, I said on several occasions that it was a joke gone too far. I knew all along that it was a joke, it was the rulefagging that pissed me off. I shouted out about april fool's on several occasions, but then I decided that if I played it seriously, I could get some new members at Laptops and Tea.

I am very deeply sorry, however, that I ruined the joke. I can accept that it was largely my fault and I sincerely wish that I could have played along and had a bit more fun than I actually did.

Which, incidentally was quite a lot. Swearing at Nam is quite entertaining.

Sub likely won't be unbanned as he was being disruptive for quite some time just for the sake of attention-whoring.  Posting porn was waaaaaay over the line and as such is not forgivable in these instances.

I can only say that you ruined the joke for us. At one point I was just fed up reading and censoring (heh, used winkio's account here xD) so I suggested to the mods to end it. Ironically we were discussing everything in IRC. Nobody even bothered to check IRC. xD

@stripe: I hope you're not too mad at us. It seemed realistic to you because you haven't been here from the start. A couple of people figured out where this was going even before we started. If you had been here from the beginning of the day, you would have noticed the inconsistencies in everything. We weren't even trying to cover things up. There's one thing I don't agree with NAMK, though. The best type of joke is not when people don't realize that it's a joke. The best type of April Fools joke is when people can't decide whether it's a joke or not. They keep thinking that it could be a joke, then they think it's serious again.

This was mainly to keep Sub under control while winkio was asleep. Basically a good portion from the moment Sub posted his poll were from me. I think I did tell Ryex and maybe NAMK. I don't remember anymore. xD

All in all, all your apologies are accepted. We tried to keep the joke within reasonable boundaries so people weren't actually banned (except for Sub who couldn't obviously stand being ignored) and we hope that we haven't been too much trouble for you all.
Next year's joke will be less turbulent, we promise. This year was simply a unique opportunity for winkio to take over that we couldn't resist. We knew it would be risky and grand, but we did it anyway.

Some things was pointing at it being a joke, some not. But the fact that you let it go too far took the fun out of it. When I read it was a joke I just felt empty. Not happy, or angry or anything. I dropped subtle hints(with one or two exceptions), because the joke actually did get old fast, and people still didn't even see them because you EDITED my posts every 30 seconds. Well, I walked into it quite late in the game, so to say, so all I saw was a forum failing miserably, hence my suggestions towards the Nazi-ish rule-set. All other things aside, and ignoring the rudeness and flaming that was going on, it seemed very believable, and, I'll admit it, I was completely fooled by it. Good one guys!
