Damn, I wanted to try this out.  -_- Send space is unreliable as shit---why did I upload in there.

So I looked at this really old, 7 year post of mine and just shuddered, barfed, and cringed. Cringed so much.
Did commentary on it.  Sort like:  If I were to comment on my past self sort of thing.

I feel so distant from whomever made this flame of ass game xD.

... hey, this is still here lol.

Sadly, this game may be lost in the darkness forever xD. I'll look through any old flash drives.  Sadly the unreleased HD version of this is gone too -_- blame windows .. Even a surprise sequel haha. I probably lost all of those skills that far exceeded this old game lol

Unity all the way. Rpg maker XP is great but is a mess.

Weird. Chrome is my primary browser but it never game me the warning for CP. But yeah, I know that feel:whenever that does happen for a website I want to surf or visit for the first time, I get annoyed and switch to firefox. (That was on another computer which had windows 7 not this one.)

This would be interesting actually. Facebook-like app but for CP instead.

I've heard that PyGame is great for making relatively simple games. You should try it out. That or SDL.

Pygame actually utilizes SDL. What I read up so far is pretty good.

IMO Python and Ruby are among the best languages to learn programming, because they are straight-forward and powerful.

ARC's editor is done in Python, but I don't recommend that you check out the source yet. It's highly complicated if you don't know how import and using a bunch of other libraries works and how larger systems are designed.

I've personally started with C (though, I knew QBASIC before that), but I quickly started learning Ruby when I got into RMXP.

I did my first 3 games at Cateia completely in Python.

I agree with you.  I've picking up on python extremely fast --though --only because I'm dedicating A LOT of time into it, which drastically put me ahead of my classmates. Besides the college class, EVERYDAY, I practice --using tutorials, Codecademy(which is my favorite, even if it is not python 3 but 2), and making basic programs on the python GUI.

My goal in this though is to master python BUT when I create my first major program (game for example): I want it to actually be good. "New" will not be an excuse. (Especially when I'm not 100% new to programming or the idea of it)

I thought about starting in C as well (some of my friends know C+  and a lot of Java) but I decided if my course is teaching in Python, I'd dedicate my time into it.

Edit:  out of curiousity I took a look at the source "Setup.py"   just to further my knowledge. Thanks to all of the learning I did so far, it wasn't that hard to read. Of course, Setup.py is probably one of the easier reads lol. But I'll educate myself later once I finish my both codeacademy courses and my college course (Intro to Interactive Design --which should be actually called Intro to Python since it's 100% focused on it.)

Hey guys, I just wanted to know your opinion on Python. This is my first real programming language (besides game maker language, and a little of ruby) that I'm learning in
an online college course at University of Maryland. On the side, I'm also learning via tutorials and an interactive program.
Python is relatively simple and everything is a function. Which means it's always "returning" something, even if its "none."

That aside,

are there any programs you programmed with this?   I like the language so far (though I'll have to view other languages to really judge)-- I noticed a few major programs such as Blender was programmed in Python.

I'm pretty sure someone has.

I did this before with Blizz-abs and a turned based abs. Worked out just find, no issues.  BUT it depends on the battle system's scripting. I got so lucky that there were no conflicting issues. I didn't have to do any additional scripting.

AS FOR POKEMON.. I dunno man. That may not be as simple.   EDIT: YOU MAINLY JUST GOTTA TURN BLIZZ-ABS ON AND OFF FOR IT TO WORK WELL.

I can't imagine using any other phone but the Android. Android is the boss of all phones. The only thing I'll keep using from MS is windows on a laptop until Android/Chrome somehow manages to develop a universal OS that beats Windows(of all kinds) and developers run away from MS. I used to like MS a while back..but nowadays, I can't stand them. Ha.

I'm posting in here, because I'm tired of seeing White Rose as the last guy that posted in here xD. Welcome to CP.

I'm a big kingdom hearts fan. This is looking really well done. Very obvious that you're putting a lot of work into it. Keep it up;

Troubleshooting / Help / Re: Bar

Thanks dude. I'll give this a try and tell you the results.

EDIT:
It's going to take a while to work this right. But I'll let you know how it goes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztM-H8wM9Dc   Notice when you answer the question, the arrow move towards the red or blue side. I want variables to keep track of that.  Eventually, the more red you get --high variables --the main character will start to have black aura around him  vice versa for blue which will have white aura. I can implement that myself. I just want it to show briefly like that.

Variables are Good and Evil. (or 9/10 named Good/Evil.)

You've been here long enough to know what double-posting is. -KK20

Troubleshooting / Help / Bar

Do you think eventing this would work properly.

Remember that red and blue bar on the game Catherine (for ps3/xbox360) that would appear after you made a choice. I want to recreate that using variables.

If you take someone's soul wrongfully, then:  - 1 good.  + 1 Evil.

I would have to the bar appear briefly.    Any suggestions to how I could pull this off? I'm not a scripter, so xD.

                                                                 THE RISE OF FIRE

Ah yes, it had to be done. The remake of this old crap game has come upon us. And not just any remake --but a complete start-from-scratch remake giving it two titles. Main title: The Rise of Fire. Subtitle: Flame of Life HD. Compared to the old game, this version may as well be HD. But, what's the difference between the two? What changes are being made?

--The storyline has been DRASTICALLY improved. It's almost like a different story. It follows the same elements of the old one, except in GREATER and clearer detail. The cutscenes are different --after all, remade from scratch, right?

-- Graphics: The window skin has been changed as well as font. Flare and Flarina's sprites are changed. There are a few other things in it like the HUD using Z-HUD epicness and what not.  Of course, weapons animations for when Flare attacks exist.

--System: You won't have to focus on leveling up so much but rather, pay more attention to the story. The gameplay and story will be balanced, but you'll still be able to take on the challenges without having to spend most of your time level-grinding. Hence, Flare starting at level 25.
HP and SP will be the same though no matter what level until you find special items. (IE: SOMETHING LIKE HEART PIECES FROM ZELDA.)
Flame mode is gone (though I doubt anyone attempted to finish that horrid game to find out what that is.)

---Music: Don't worry, I won't leave any trolly music in the game this time. The soundtracks will be legit. And I downloaded good ones too. I won't spoil them here though.

---Characters.  We still have are old cast. A few Cast from the old Flame of Life 2(No remake on this --the story will be condensed into 1 game) will be put in. And a few new characters.  There isn't as much as I'm poorly describing here though. I'm more or less replacing some characters.
--Personalities have been revamped.  For example, Flarina may appear sort of naive in one of the opening cutscenes, but when she actually meets Flare, she's tsundere. That was actually her original personality that I failed to input in the original game.

--Mapping: Obviously this will be better. I never got to show off Generations, because of the 128 MB thing and then hard drive failure from that dell-windows 7 enterprise laptop BUT anyway:  Yes, there will be plenty to explore. NO WORLD MAP. This isn't Mario xD. I am aware of how much the old WM shorted the game.   Can you find the game's secrets?

-- The story itself revolves around a tale.   In the game, there is no "Flame of Life."  I ditched that. Instead, there is a tale involving a hero of fire. But I don't won't to spoil it here. It reads pretty good in the game.

Here's 1 screenshot from the new and improved Warewoods. I'll probably add a few more as the production rolls on.

Spoiler: ShowHide

-- The map may still need a bit more work. It doesn't show well, but there are multiple paths to take enabling explorations. Exploring will not go unrewarded. The secrets are real.  Finding the thousands of secret hidden items in the old game probably was next to impossible XD unless you were lucky. In this game, you'll find them through exploration and maybe a little luck. Optional bosses too.

More to come as the production progresses.

So far credits include:
Myself, Blizzard/Winkio (BABS 2.86), LittleDrago(the health display), Enterbrain, Namco. If I missed any, please let me know...

Ouch. So this is only a temporary boost?  Well, good for transformations, but I guess I'll just have to find someway to increase only the core stats:

Attack and defense for the fixed weapon.
