Title: DVD Burner and converter
Post by: Spoofus on October 15, 2015, 11:16:19 pm
Hey all, I am looking for a good program that can convert various video file types, as well as being able to burn videos on to a DVD-R etc.
to play on a actual DVD player.

Most of the programs I have come across that look promising are usually you have to pay to get full benefits of it etc.

If anyone knows of any program that can do the mentioned above and if it is free that would be a plus, but please let me know.

Thank you.

This one is fantastic for conversion of video formats and sizes: http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/
This one is great for burning stuff: https://cdburnerxp.se/en/home

If you want to burn a DVD that plays on a player, make sure to check which formats the player supports. Sometimes players only support the "raw" DVD format and sometimes they support even more advanced formats like DivX or Xvid.

Although it is not free, I have always in the past used ConvertX2DVD. It has all the bells and whistles, and it is the one program I have found that consistently works on any DVD player I have tried.

Hey thanks, I look into those programs.

Trying to do this mainly for my mom, she refuses to get the internet,a new TV, etc.
Where she watches movies and stuff all the time I figured this would help her out, and lets her leave me alone about getting here movies and all that,
it can get annoying when your at work and she keeps asking you to rent/buy a movie cause she wants to see it so bad she can't stand it.

Not sure how much "Internet" you need for Netflix, but if it's available in your country, it's worth looking into. It may be streamed over the Internet, but when you use your TV, you don't really have the feeling that it's from the Internet.

I'm using Format Factory (for Win). Very easy to use, versatile and FREE  :naughty:
