If you need help with mapping or even just pre-testing, feel free to hit me up.

I don't check this site everyday, but I do check my emails everyday...so if you wanna contact me, that's probably the best way (or via private message on the site, which will get directly sent to my email)

I downloaded the game, and while it has potential, it needs a lot of work.

A few things that kinda bothered me about it:

  • Right off the bat, I was lost...I spent a good 5-10 minutes trying to figure out how the hell to start a new game. This is quite an easy fix...instead of having the option to look at the control scheme after you start a new game, you should either A. Include a notepad file in the game package with the controls, class descriptions, etc., B. Make it so the player can choose the control scheme (not sure if that's possible), C. Have a menu item or in-game item that brings up the control scheme instead of just having it at the beginning once.

  • Once I finally figured out how to get into the game, I was greeted by "PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY" with the options "Sure" or "FUCK YOU"...if you're going to be making this with RMX-OS, or even trying to create a serious game, I recommend getting rid of the caps, or at least getting rid of the "FUCK YOU"

  • If you want people to take your game seriously, I also recommend having someone spellcheck it before you release the final one. Also, if a part is not in the demo, instead of having a "umadbro?" trollface appear, just have a message box say something like "To be included in a later version"

Other than those things, and lack of variety with mapping, I see a lot of potential for this game.
Good luck with your endeavors,
~Steven a.k.a. ShinyToyGuns~

Anyway, when did you leave?

Probably around the time of my last suicide attempt, which was on August 17th, 2010. After that, I may have popped on a couple times, but not for an extended amount of time. Hoping to rectify that :)

...Yup!
That's right. Getting bored with the other forums I'm at, and since CP seems to be moving more towards more serious game dev than the other ones, I'm gonna try sticking around a bit so that I can maybe pick up some tips and tricks for my game/game engine that I've been wanting to make. I'm still considering game making a hobby for right now, as the field of work I wish to get in right now is Human Services, so pursuing that takes priority.

As some of you may or may not know, I had several suicide attempts last summer, and the last one (gonna be 1 year ago, come August 17) made me realize how damn selfish I was being. So now, on fewer meds and in 100% better spirits, I'm working on looking for a job, going to be moving into my own apartment, looking to get moving on getting my driver's license, and just loving life. Oh, and I broke up with my girlfriend roughly 2-3 months ago after I found out that A. she was a bitch, B. she had cheated on me, and C. she was trying to change who I was to fit her own needs.

It was a rocky relationship from the start, but I was too blinded by lies and deception to see that (which not only hurt emotionally, but financially as well...spent roughly $2,000 on her in the 4-5 months we were together ($300 of which went to a pre-engagement ring which she conned me into buying...)). Anywayssss...that's a basic summary of what's been going on since my activity dropped...who's still here, and what are you guys up to?

Hoping to stick around,
~Steven a.k.a. ShinyToyGuns~

Hey guys (and gals),
I'm trying to spread the word about a series of online roleplaying game engines called First Star Online. Though similar to the RPG Makers we've all come to know and love, these engines take it one step further.

First Star Source (UnFunGames) - Unlike its name suggests, this source engine allows you to make your own ORPG with virtually no previous programming experience, and can provide endless fun for all. The only limits are the ones set by the imagination and your programming knowledge. The First Star game engines are programmed in Macromedia/Adobe Director with the Lingo programming language.

Return to Gaurdia (Temporary link) - Proof that with a bit of programming knowledge, and a dedicated team, one can create a successful ORPG. Built on the First Star Online 1 Engine, Return to Gaurdia is one of the most popular FSO servers left. With over 50 skills to train, Guild Wars, a Nation system, numerous events, and more, you're sure to have a good time making friends while having fun. 4 years after being released, RTG remains one of the best.

Gaurdia: Tactics (Temporary link) - Brought to you by the same people who brought you Return to Gaurdia, Gaurdia: Tactics is based off of the First Star Online Stratics Engine. As opposed to participating in real-time battles, you command a party of up to 5 hirelings and fight in turn-based battles which can earn you gold, items, and even equipments. Use your wits to conquer your battles in this 1 1/2 year-old game as you quest across a vast 2D world waging battles against player and monster alike.

Hope to see you there.

Welcome! / Re: I've Asperger Syndrome: sucks to be me.
January 03, 2011, 12:02:24 pm
When were you diagnosed with Asperger's? I was diagnosed when I was 15 years old...I'm now approaching my 21st birthday (April 11th), and I must say, you remind me a lot of myself before I got help understanding how to control my diagnosis, rather than letting it control me.

Also, if you're trying to get pity from people with your whole "sucks to be me" intro, cut the shit...it makes other Aspergians like myself look bad.

I had the same outlook on life and everything in it until I read this book, which was just 6 months ago, when I was going through a really rough time in my life. Now, I'm not saying that I changed because of the book, but I'm saying that it helped me better understand what I had been living with, and why I felt like such an outcast. That, as well as speaking to the right people, learning more about emotions, what's socially acceptable and what's not, and trying to focus on the positive instead of the negative, has helped me understand that Asperger's Syndrome is not an illness...if anything, it's a gift. Some of the most successful people in this world have Asperger's Syndrome or some similar condition and are able to function quite well in daily life.

Did you know that one of the most well known men in the computer business has an Autistic Spectrum Disorder?
This man is none other than the chairman of Microsoft, Bill Gates!

Not convincing enough? How about this guy? Came up with the three laws of motion, and is the basis for modern engineering...yes, that's right, Sir Isaac Newton had an Autistic Spectrum Disorder too.

Still not convinced?
E=MC2=Albert Einstein had an Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Charles Darwin
Jim Henson
Thomas Jefferson
George Orwell
Dan Aykroyd
Thomas Edison
Gary Numan
Michael Jackson
Mark Twain
Henry Ford

The list goes on and on...did these people let their disabilities get in the way of their abilities? I think their achievements answer that question.

So, whenever you tell people that you have Asperger's Syndrome, make sure to say it proudly...There's nothing to be ashamed of, so why say that it sucks to be you just because you have Asperger's Syndrome?

Anyways...Welcome to Chaos Project, and if you ever need a fellow Aspergian to talk to, add me to MSN ( J_Papelbon2009@hotmail.com ), or add me to Facebook if you have it (Steven Falardeau)

Keep moving forward,
~Steven a.k.a. ShinyToyGuns~

Two Worlds, although glitchy as hell (at least the Xbox 360 version), is an amazing game if you can get past the bugs and bad voice acting...
Also, if you're into FPS/Survival horror games, check out S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl...this is another amazing game...especially if you have the L.U.R.K. Mod installed

Its about time someone created something of this epic simplistic proportion!
Legend of Mana was a spectacular game.

Can I expect its crafting system to be replicated as well? :D

Hey all,
I was wondering if any of you have heard of this game. I've been playing it for the past few months, and I must say, it's quite a great game :D

They have frequent events, such as Monster Spawns, Double Experience Days, Double Drop Days, and more. They also have a unique sprite crafting system through which you can get special equipment and materials. In addition, they have an Item Mall through which you can pay real money to buy cool stuff for yourself or your sprites.

I give this game 5/5
