These features are looking nice.
Some of them are really awsome and I would say it's a big improvement to VX Ace.

In the end most of these features are also possible with RMXP with some workarounds and custom scripts so I wouldn't restart my whole current project in this new RM.

But I will give it a huge try for sure. (Maybe for future projects.)

Hm but your progress on this topic sounds sweet.
That parents-children method is a good way to handle it.

So beside the crafting issue your script already worked fine ?

OMG this is existing for so long already and I've never seen it.
Shame on me..

I love the advance wars games, put more than 1000 hours into them and still playing them time by time.
I think I have something to do now..

RPG Maker Scripts / Item Upgrade Systems and Item IDs

I'm posting this because i'm just interested in it.

Yesterday I had the idea to make it possible to upgrade weapons and armors like in several MMOs so they become +1, +2, +3 and so on, which increases the stats.
So I've looked around and found some interesting upgrade scripts. Not really the one of my idea, but nevermind.

So let's take for example the Equipment Upgrade System by Charlie Fleed (http://save-point.org/thread-2299.html)

I experienced that this and all the others i found, use new entrys in the database to create the upgraded items. So if I have other scripts which use static item IDs (e.g. Blizzards HP/MP script) it will mess up. The upgraded weapon or armor wouldn't have the additional HP and MP because it's another ID in the database.

So I'm asking me if it's possible to change the stats of individual items with an upgrade system although there are static IDs used in custom scripts without reworking the whole method RMXP is handling items.

Just a few thoughts.

If you haven't played it already, I would recommend you Xenoblade Chronicles.
It's an awsome JRPG with a really good story.

Was alot of fun for me.

Yeah these shiny things are the style of the whole game world.
It's a floating world above an ocean of magical energy. Very much high fantasy, i know, but im a fan of this.

You mentioned the large amount of grass, plants and so on. Yes, thats a little bit odd, but everytime I try to place less of them I get the feeling that my maps are looking empty. Seems to be an issue of mine.
+ I have to say that many of these objects on the ground are collectable materials for the crafting so without the grass it could be possible to "clean out" the whole place at some points  :haha:

For not going too much OT, some screens of maps out of older versions from the game which will be in the game at later places in an overworked form.

I already evented it but I would say it's only 90% perfect.

There is only 1 problem left. I'm not sure how to check if the character is above a passable tile or not. So atm you can land on mountains or water (or even lava lol) which shouldn't be allowed.
I could fill all impassable tiles with events which would block the landing process but since I have some really big flightmaps the event limit of 999 will mess up.

Any ideas would be cool.

I would recommend you RM XP just because it still offers much more options in form of available scripts and ressources than the others + 3 layer mapping is awsome.
I don't really care about the performance. I run my RM XP game in nearly constant 60 FPS without any lags.

I also recognized that RM XP games are the only ones which have a real Fullscreen Mode (without any black borders around)  :???:

The only thing that could beat RM XP for me is the ARC Project for sure.

Yes i think can modify the oil thing for all elements, thats nice. In the thread they were already talking about that. Would be interesting

But for the protection, I can't do this with the database. Because of that i'm searching for a script. I want to make a state which protects you against other states. Protection against poison makes your character immune to poison. Protection against silence makes him immune against silence and so on.

I think the easiest thing, would be a script which creates states to change temporarly the element and state efficiency of the target. For example set the element Fire to A or the state poison to F.
Would offer alot of more options. Atm the states are very limited in their functions. You could also do some absorb states if you set thunder as example to F. So adding this state to your character all thunder spelld would heal him.
Or combine these features. A state which sets fire to F and on the other hand water to A. Your character would be healed by fire and crushed by water then.
Would be awsome to have something like that.

Hi all,

Im looking for a script for RMXP to change the efficieny of elements and states with a state.
For example a state such as the oil state in final fantasy where fire spells inflicted more damage.

Or an protection against poison, which lowers succes rate for poison attacks.

Is there something like that available?
