So I bought this today: MSI GT70 2PC Dominator

Should be able to handle most games right now. I can also work on larger projects while traveling or sitting in school without having to be bound to the space my desktop is located.
Think it's worth the money? I have no regrets about this buy, but what do you think could have been better regarding the specs?

A lot of people scoff at gaming laptops due to not being as powerful as equivalently priced desktops, but I had an M17x for a long time and loved it. :) In my opinion, the extra portability was worth having to drop the graphics settings on a couple of things down a notch.

I think it's great. The specs are fantastic and should hold you over for quite awhile. Glad to see someone else getting a new PC!

Got it yesterday and holy shit, this laptop is sexy as fuck!

I couldn't carry my desktop around because there was trouble getting it transported here and also having a stable internet connection. I've had to use the classroom's computer for almost everything and they close at 10PM so after that it's usually 'back to the classrooms and do something else'. But now that I got this baby I can do all those old things wherever I want!

I could maybe play Hearthstone or just surf the web on my old laptop which was shit, but it works for a working computer. Here's the uppgrade:

New Laptop.

MSI GT70 2PC Dominator
Processor: Inter(R) Core(TM) i7-4810mq CPU @ 2.80GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
8.2 GB RAM (can be uppgraded)
NVidia GeForce GTX 870M
1 Harddrive SSD on 130Gb, 1 Harddrive HDD on 1Tb

Old Laptop

Hewelet-Packard - Compaq CQ58 Notebook PC
Processor: AMD E1-1500 APU with Randeon(tm) HD Graphics 1,48 GHz.
4 GB RAM, 3.8 is (useable)
AMD Radeon HD 1730 Graphics
1 Harddrive 450GB.

So it's quite an uppgrade! This one went for 2500$. :D

Wow, it's only $300 cheaper than my new custom built desktop, I'm a little surprised at the specs to be honest for that price, I paid 2800 for mine, and that included a new keyboard that cost almost 200 alone, so really 2600 for the build and I have double the storage, double the RAM, a GTX 980 and an i7 4790K 4.0Ghz 4 physical cores, 8 logical cores. I suppose you could count the new monitor purchase as another 200, which made it 3000 and I just noticed the price on the website, so you probably paid a bit in shipping.

Granted, you did get a laptop, and having the screen, keyboard, and speakers built in would obviously add to the price, I mean your keyboard does look pretty sexy, I won't lie. xD I bet the upgrade feels amazing. Even on my old computer, which still has decent specs, I could definitely notice the upgrade and it's amazing. I'd love to see that keyboard in action!

I was looking at a few MSI Laptops .-.
