Troubleshooting / Help / Is this a bug?
September 07, 2008, 10:24:33 pm
Well I was working on the starting town to my game to try and fix it up a bit and I have combined a few tilesets and just got all the directional and priority stuff put in from the other ones. I haven't changed anything with the auto tiles and just double checked everything related to them. Well this issue is happening in only TWO squares on the entire tileset. I have tried to replicate the problem elsewhere but to no avail. The first issue is here:
Spoiler: ShowHide

And the other one happens almost identical to this except its when I walk right one square and then all the way to the top.

Electronic and Computer Section / Computer cables
September 03, 2008, 03:06:14 pm
I want to have my computer speaker output go, instead of to normal speakers, to my stereo system which only has those red/white cable inputs on the back(as used to hook PS2, Xbox, etc audio up to the TV). Is it possible to do this and if so what cables do I need

A few weeks ago I created a successful game disk, extracted it, and all that good jazz. Everything worked just fine.

Now whenever I create a game disk I get a 125MB game disk file AND a second 33MB file called test.002 and when I open this test.002 file with WinRAR it contains the second HALF of my game. This is causing my game extraction to fail every time and I can't seem to figure out whats causing this, how to overcome it, or even merge the 125MB file with the .002 second portion of the file so that I DO have a successful extraction so that I can play the game and whatnot.

Anybody have any information about this incident or how I can fix it?

Projects / Games / 9 Lord Rescue v1.4.99
September 01, 2008, 12:07:35 am

Title: 9 Lord Rescue
Version:1.4.99
Genre: Action, adventure, RPG, Sci-Fi
Rating: T - Teen: Adult Language, Violence, Use of alcohol, Adult Situations
System Requirements: 500MB free space
256MB RAM
Intel Pentium 4 processor or higher
Windows XP or Vista

Background of the game:
Well I originally started working on this game back in '04 but after a few months of work just kind of stopped due to school and for a few years kind of just lost interest in continuing the game although every now and then I would dabble a bit here and there. Back in '07 I then picked the game back up for about a month and did some minor overhauls of the starting town and whatnot then just kind of let it fade away. Finally about the start of August I picked back up again and ever since I have been doing overhauls to the graphics since they all were square plain maps. I still have some more graphic overhauls to do on a few old maps but for the most part I have continued to advance the game some more

Story behind the game:
While this isn't the complete story or anything this is a basic synopsis about the game itself and all that good jazz. There were 9 powerful lords who used to rule the land and ensure a general peace and happiness for their citizens. Eventually though, about 20 years before you were born, something happened and one of the lords began to attack the other kingdoms. It is still unknown as to what started this but several rumors have it that he made a pact with an evil that once used to rule the land thousands of years ago. You are a fighter, you have been your entire life, and ever since your parents were killed by an evil that has risen again to plague the land. You have been training with your old friends and school teacher in some basic fighting techniques. You are now 17 years old and with your friends all dead or missing and your master at his death bed you decide its finally time to change things. You are now on a mission to gather friends and create an uprising to bring down the Darkness that has engulfed the land. It has been almost 40 years since the Darkness took over and lately several areas have had some general peace, although nobody knows why, and have been able to prosper. Since your town is one of them you know this is the best time to act. So you gather what armor and weapons you find around the house and decide to set out.

The game's features:
This is what is going to be in the final game(or at least planned)
-47 interactive quests
-12 mini quests
-400 monsters
-35 major towns/cities
-10 small towns
-25 dungeons
-20 Possible team members(some of which might not join up with you)
-Endless fun and awesomeness

Recruitment / Beta testers and system balance
August 23, 2008, 09:52:00 pm
Right now I am looking for a couple of people who would be willing to help me beta test my game as I finish up more and more sections of it. Right now its at about about 45% completed and I am looking to get some feedback on the game, places that need improvement, what you like, etc. The main thing is that I know the system isn't exactly balanced right now so if you want to help at all with that I would really appreciate that too.
Hoping to get some feedback on how things are going so far so I can knock out any remaining bugs before starting on with adding more quests and finalizing the first half of the game so I can go ahead and start on the second half where things really being to pick up.

Tutorial Requests / System Help
August 23, 2008, 07:24:07 pm
Well I recently picked up on an old project I had started a while ago. For the most part things were pretty good, I have been doing a lot of map reworking and adding more and whatnot but my problem comes in with the battle system. I completely f**ked that up when I was younger and now everything is out of wack. I am wanting to make a nice long set of monsters from level 1-70 and some weps/armor that would need upgrading around every 15 levels if you want to stand a chance. Right now I got the basic monsters along with a few extras I added and the basic set of weps and armor that come preloaded and preset with the game. I am looking for a tutorial or some suggestions or some help to adjust the system so as characters level the armor can fit easily with that level and whatnot. So how do I make a good battle system where things are not really tough to kill but not so easy you can wipe through a field of monsters in 10 seconds flat.

Troubleshooting / Help / Gamedisk Creation Failed
August 15, 2008, 11:52:37 pm
I am using RPG Maker XP Postality Knights Edition Enhanced and about 60% of the time when I go to make a game disk(RTP or not) I will get a Gamedisk Creation Failed error and its starting to get really annoying. Is there anything in particular that could be causing this that I might not be aware of or something?

Welcome! / Hi
August 15, 2008, 09:32:51 pm
Well I am new to CP as my post count says pretty bluntly >.>'
Been using RPG Maker XP and whatnot for a while although I did stop for a couple years and recently picked back up again. Found this site after looking through some old bookmarks and was then redirected here. There are some really awesome things here and hopefully I can even contribute some of my own scripts within a few months.
