Chat / Talk About Becoming a Mod
June 20, 2011, 05:33:26 pm
And I doubt I'd ever get a mod position again! Not only because of that incident but mostly because I'm just not active enough and don't look at enough places to make it worth it. Although I guess I'd check up on the reports often - but do people regularly use the report function? Either way.

the first thing I wanna say is HOLY SHIT SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG TO GET THIS OUT GHSGUSDHGSDFIGHSDFUGHDFG School's been kicking my goddamn ass and I've been focusing more on that than writing anything. I do too much thinking lately because someo f my teachers SUCK.

100 questions tomorrow, two hour exam @__@. The first group is the first two mages and the first warrior who signed up. The second group is the others.

"...Thank you, all of you, for your generous arrival. We don't know what you will find when you go over; we have had poor luck with scouts of late. Time is running ever shorter and Luta must not be allowed to succeed." Those were the words, whispered by the High Practitioner as the six made their way. Two groups of three separated and thrown apart as the Hole was entered.

One group would awaken, mildly disoriented, in a forest. Silence echoes back to them. What is this land? Luta's world. A world in mockery of the real one, which will absorb everything. Their mission reasserts itself in their minds; they must hurry. Wilderness... Where is the hole? Glance up; there it is, and to those who are practitioners of magic, the drainign mana is visible to the eye. A rare occurrence, one sure to unsettle a stomach.

The others awaken in barren wasteland. What once appeared to be a grassland now is full of dead grass and broken trees, crumbling flora beneath their steps. A swirling sound, like that of bees, is heard in the near distance. A wail; an echo. A cry of despair. A burst of mana released furiously into the air and the whistle of a large, falling object.

A cliff, just to the left, and a humanoid thing lands near the three. It is not Luta; it resembles an ape, twisted though the image is. Around it swirls distorted mana, corrupted slowly by absence until it clings and desperately snatches mana more whole. A name, whispered into the mind. Disruption. That is what the creature is. A Disruption in the natural order.

It wails that pitifully feral cry once more, and battle is upon them.

Intelligent Debate / The Liberal Arts
June 04, 2011, 08:03:57 pm
I know thi si bad form when opening a discussion, but I myself don't have any real opinion on the matter.

I AM, however, interested in seeing others' opinions. What do you think of the liberal arts? Do they apply to real life? In comparison to the sciences, which is more relevant in general? Do you think that, despite there being a harder time locating a job in the liberal arts than in the various sciences, the liberal arts are equal to the sciences?

I'm watching a debate on this on another forum, and many of the views and points presented there are interesting and so I'd like to see how others think of them.
35
Nice, short, sweet, to the point, and gets the message across.

What is power? If one could train their body beyond its limits, would it make them more? Would attaining a level of raw strength above that of average men make one any different? They would still be human, would they not? Questions ever abound in the human mind. If you could think faster than any other, compute any equation as swiftly as a machine, what would that mean? To have the mental acuity to learn anything. Isn't that what humanity dreams of? To advance to a point where no obstacle can impede them?

It's been reached. Hasn't it? There's been tales throughout the ages of men who were unkillable. China's Lu Bu. Japan's Tadakatsu Honda. Is it something of oriental origin? Is it not also true that there've been enlightened people? Those who the world seemed to have opened up to, and who saw many truths? How could we hope to reach an evolution where all of humanity is as advanced as they? Will technology lead us to the answer? Many think so. But not some. Some believe it can only be a natural progression; to force it forward would be to lead to disaster.

These questions are irrelevant. In a facility, far from the planet they call home, scientists and men of arms train, study, and learn. It is a testing facility, testing both science and tactics. One man in particular, a simple soldier, is the focus of our detail. What he sees is an illusion. Palm trees, digitally rendered, and a beach; an ocean extending infinitely off to the left. A weapon in his hands, and a foe across from him. How does he handle the situation? He must defend himself. The location is given, the scenario is now delivered.

He was to deliver a package, covertly. He was discovered; now he must make his way off the beach into the city. Nobody who sees his face must be left alive. His task is now: Escape. His weapons: two sidearms, a package of explosives in a pack on his back, and a rifle. Ammunition is limited. A red laser lights on his chest, and he hears a language he cannot understand. Presumably, he is being told to put his hands up.

This is your situation, soldier. Respond appropriately.

Chat / Anyone else having issues sleeping?
May 03, 2011, 10:32:57 pm
In January I decided to start sleeping regularly - at 10PM to 5:30AM. This became cemented when I started having issues staying awake past 10! and woke up at 6 at the latest.

Lately though I've been having difficulty falling asleep, and even worse, been finding it impossible to wake up when I need to. I barely have time to shower, and forget getting a proper breakfast set up in that time. Either one, or the other (most days I pick the breakfast, honestly).

So has anyone else had this issue? It's beginning to annoy me.
38
I don't know which to pick. The one about the insane girl who likes to shoot and/or stab people?

The one about the two powerful beings that want to kill eachother?

The one about the dragonkin girl and her shadow friend?

Or the one about the Hunter girl who has her world-view shaken?

EDIT: Put in here because once I have a consensus(first option with five votes!) I'll start updating in this thread.

Intelligent Debate / Predators
May 03, 2011, 09:55:44 pm
I saw an interesting documentary in chem a few weeks ago, and I just recalled when I was thinking 'what would be an interesting debate topic?' well, something that people shouldn't be all too fired up about - dont' want discussions getting heated!

So, at least in America, earlier in the 20th Century there was a large 'let's get rid of the predators' movement or something - and somehow one way or another, most wolves or bears or etcetera were eliminated from the places they naturally were, usually to suit human convenience.

So the benefit to humans was immediate - easier to handle crops and livestock without having to worry about a wolf raid, for example. But eliminating predators has harmed the natural environment. In Yellowstone, it was discovered that the river there was widening. and why? Well, it was theorized that with no wolves to hunt them, the deer(or whatever) had no reason to move from one place. So the grass there and other plants died, since the deer(or whatever) grazed freely.

This loosened the soil, which fell into the river, which widened...

From what I recall, they reintroduced wolves to Yellowstone, and it seemed to have done well in reducing that.

So, do you think major predators should be reintroduced to places they've been eliminated from?

Video Games / Radiant Historia
May 03, 2011, 09:36:16 pm
Noticed there was no thread about this

For shame!

This is a game about a guy in Alistel's special operations force - this basically means he heads a small group of people with the intent to infiltrate places and do sneaky things. Your boss hands you a book and, though reluctant, you basically go 'gee, okay,' when two weird children show up after something happens.

The story has a gripping beginning, but 'chapter 1' of both Histories is a slow point... it generally picks up in Chapters 2, and I'm currently in Chapters 4 on each, and enjoying myself immensely. It's easy earlier on, but eventually you hit the wake-up boss, and from then on you'll want to at least get the newest equipment / kill the enemies a few times (especially since some allies may be behind others in level, though oddly enough even someone 20 levels behind can handle themselves well - usually. If they've good equipment / the right accessories, they can survive. And the game's method of 'the lower level you are, the more experience you get' mean you're going to catch them up fast) to get up to speed in levels.

Chat / Paranoia.
May 02, 2011, 09:26:51 pm
SO AS YOU ALL MAY KNOW, I AM A HORRENDOUSLY PARANOID PERSON.

THIS PARANOIA OF MINE HAS BEEN A CONSTANT FACTOR, ESPECIALLY PRESENT IN MY INTERNET INTERACTIONS WITH PEOPLE.

IN FACT, MY PARANOIA HAS MOST AFFECTED YOU ALL. Or at least those who were around before I left. See, I'm a very intelligent and creative person(as you all can tell). I'm pretty good at manipulating people and events - when I have a motivation to do so. Especially back when, my paranoia was a -very- good motivation. So, I manipulated a number of people and in the end, I shaped the opinion of me of everyone here.

Well so what? A number of you may ask. That's my public opinion; I can take steps to ensure it's positive. Well, you guys don't know the extent of what I did.

Blizz, remember that goddamn douche who hacked my account? Jared? It kind of begins with him. Back before he came here. Sally and I met him on some half-assed MMO attempt some dumbass calling himself NeoDan or whatever - I don't remember exactly - was running. When he continued talking to sally after I got us all banned(that was rather easy, too), I wanted him gone from her life. I don't remember how exactly, but either through sally or talking to him myself, I got him to show up at CP. I didn't anticipate that he'd hack my account (that was a slip-up that made my paranoia worse, and I've since eradicated any chance of it happenign again) but yeah.

I knew he'd make an ass of himself and get himself banned. That helped lower Sally's opinion of him, so all in all it lead to a few good results. But I had a secondary purpose by luring him here. See, on that MMO thing, Sally and I masqueraded as sisters. By that, I mean we claimed to be both female and related by blood. We're not related by blood, in truth. But until that point, nobody here at CP had any idea about what I was. And here's where I try to cement myself to this community... See, that Jared guy thought I was a girl. And when Sally's around, I can put on a damn good show of being one. And here's the truth.

Everyone, I'm a guy. To you all, that's like saying 'the sky is blue' or 'rivers flow' or some other some such obvious statement of some fact. To me, admitting it to -anyone- on the internet makes it hard for me to breathe. I'm so heavily paranoid that even thinking of opening up at all makes my own body rebel against me. So as a conclusion to Jared's purpose, he thought I was a girl. He said so; therefore, it was easy to convince everyone was one, while still having reasonable liability... and those who were 'sure' of my sex promised to keep it secret. There's few easier ways to ensure something gets around than to make someone promise to keep it secret. Make enough people promise, and one is bound to spread it to a 'trustworthy' acquaintance who will spread it to another some such. Get my point?

So I got to continue claiming to be 'The IT' this mysterious radioactive bulldog that can and will destroy you given half a chance... and I got everyone to believe a lie. This is what I'm capable of. I think the reason I got progressively worse before I was banned was that it was getting to me - I got burnt out on the lie, so to say. My paranoia was probably firing off in a thousand directions, too. So.

Since I left this place, I've taken... steps to alleviate some of it. So although I'm freaking out in more ways than one, I felt like you guys had to know this. Especially since some of you may be considering going to the other forum I go to. the one I'm more active at. Because it's largely due to that place and the people there that I'm growing as a person and am able to combat my paranoia this much.

I'm sorry everyone, I've manipulated a bunch of you in a number of ways... I can't say I feel terrible about it; I feel as if I can't. But I do need to apologize. I despise doing it, y'know? I get flashes sometimes - murderous images. I've got a vivid imagination. There's a thread at the other forum where I elaborate on an Eldritch nightmare I had once. The images are burned into my brain and it shook my psyche. The human body just doesn't do that.

So yeah.

Um.

I'm going now.

Reddengos: The only continent in a dying world. It has been, for the longest time, a bastion of hope to everyone. As the landmass grows larger on Reddengos, the rest of the world shrinks. Luckily the people know exactly what is causing this. In the center of the continent is a hole, magical in nature. Its formula is far too complex for any of the world's practitioners to read. This makes it a mystery. In one example of brilliant ingenuity, a man jumped through the hole and came back.

What he described was not good. It lead to a land their mythology has spoken of for centuries. Their legends tell them this land has the capacity to drain their world of all mass before moving on to the next one. And what's worse is that its creation was their ancestors' fault.

Long ago, the forefathers of practitioners experimented wildly, without regard for the safety of the subject. This all ended when their final experiment went horribly wrong. A particularly young promising woman, named Luta, was forced to be put through a formula that nobody properly understood. It sucked her magic out of her, and put it back. In a few moments, it repeated the process. As it went on and on, Luta herself became more and more warped.

What resulted was the necessity of creating an alternate pocket dimension to house her. As far as the practitioners now can tell this dimension has relinked to ours, and is seeking to destroy our world by adding its mass to its own. It will take a group of specially minded and trained individuals to infiltrate this dimension. What must ultimately happen: research and discover weaknesses to Luta, who has become seemingly immune to magic. Indeed, the initial blast thrown at her was absorbed and made her physically stronger.

To this end, both practitioners of magic and sword have been gathered. Work together, men and women, for the six of you, four mages and two warriors, must end this threat.

Save our world. Save Reddengos.

Also, if anyone's interested, the characters I use(and the skins I use them with) are:

Reindeer Kog'maw. My first skin ever and also THE MOST HILARIOUS THING xD it's a reindeer kog'maw. Who thinks of that?

Kog'maw is one of my favorite champs to play but I almost never play him because EVEN AGAINST DERP-LEVEL BOTS YOU HAVE TO HAVE A TEAM THAT CAN PROTECT YOU. Talk about a glass cannon, but the damage he can do is so over ridiculous it's actually kind of ridiculous. I have so many skins for him because... well, he IS my favorite. Though far from my best. And I use them all as I desire to use them.

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/File:Lux_OriginalSkin.jpg
Lux. That's actually Lux's original skin. I don't have a skin for her. She's one of my primary caster-characters. She suffers from high cooldowns but is otherwise great. She goes 'FEMACIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA' and FIRES HER EPOC LAZORS. Also her joke is about Double Rainbows.

There are more, but those are the ones I most commonly use and the ones I do best with... I'm also a fair hand at Tristana, but it's been somethign like a month since I've used her.

Chat / I'm not really a part of the community...
March 27, 2011, 09:10:07 pm
I feel like I have this reputation - mostly stemming from my unwillingness to give personal info and also the Storyline Service(Which you can ask for help from - I have my muse!) but yet...

I'm not active. I come in here maybe once a day. I check to see if the storyline service thread was updated or if I got a PM or something. Then I leave until the next day. I discovered Songs of Destruction, but my help is largely unneeded by this point. I don't participate in the random discussion that goes on, the humor is largely not to my tastes so I don't joke around with the member base...

I don't know really anyone who's active who wasn't a member back when I prowled the forum and got my thousands of uncredited posts in the spam section.

So I don't really feel like a part of the community. Thots, others?

Recruitment / Tutorials / instruction needed!
March 22, 2011, 11:38:35 pm
And if I can't learn it, I may need to hire someone. Figuratively speaking.

I'm looking to improve my spriting. Which is to say, I want to learn to sprite. Specifically, for Pokemon(3rd Gen) sprites. Ruby/Sapphire, Firered/Leafgreen, basically.

Reason is I'm looking for help for a romhack a friend is doing. Nobody I know knows how to sprite and he doesn't, so I was going to hope to be able to learn. It's always fun to expand your abilities!

Recruitment / UltaFlame's Reviewing Service!
February 18, 2011, 05:27:44 pm
A one-person show!

This is Ulta's newest attraction, the 'LURYS' or, to extrapolate: LET US REVIEW YOUR STORIES. Here's a basic rundown of what's what here in LURYS.

You, that is, the reader, the entertained, the person who is here to SEE ME BRUTALLY TEAR APART STORIES(SMBTAS doesn't roll of the tongue sadly) tell me to review your game idea's story. What're the qualifications?
1) It must be a New Project when reviewed.
2) It must have a story section, hurr hurr.
3) I care enough to review it.

That means, even if it technically qualifies, I reserve the right to say 'Fuck you, person!' and ignore the request ENTIRELY, HAHAHAHAHA (EH is boring, eh, yeah?).

But, uhh, why? Well because, see, children, when I review your story I will point out its flaws. I will tell you what is too cliche and where to look out for being too egregious or nice to your characters.

How will the reviews work? Also, will you be mean?
1) I will be given a suggestion
2) I will read the story
3) I will show you what I think.
Q) Maybe. But hey you asked for the review.

Also I reserve the right to request permission to review peoples' things without them coming to me. Why? Because I just bloody can.

Recruitment / ATTENTION: CHAOS PROJECT
December 30, 2010, 09:48:51 pm
I WANT YOU FOR EPIC GAME.

Basically, I'm planning on making a game for the PC, an action game. Similar in vein to Kingdom Hearts. And to accomplish this goal, well, I NEED HELP. Because, to be ENTIRELY HONEST, I have NO CLUE where to go for this help. I can't do any of it myself. I don't know anything. I'd be willing to learn some thigns if someone'd be willing to teach me, but I don't know jack rabbit nonsense at the moment on how to go about making a 3d game.

I'm thinking of having Sub be official music guy. Sub is awesome music guy and come march he'll be awesome music guy again, but for right now, well, I don't got ideas for anything.

I have a basic idea for the storyline, and how I want to go about making shit happen. Of course, if the people I work with will limit me on battlestyles and what not I CAN WORK WITH THAT. I am very creative, so I can make ideas conform to technological or experience-related limitations. So I come to Chaos Project: Can you guys help me with this? Or help me find the people I need?

If you need me to fill out a game idea sheet thingy, Just send me what's basically needed and how long each part needs to be AND I'LL GET IT DONE.

I am willing to do whatever work I need to, provided I get the help I need to make this. There are limits to how far I'll go, but they're within reason. I mean, I'm not going to fly to frakking australia to meet someone; I don't have the capital for that. I also can't, at the moment pay anyone, as I have no money to pay with. I need to save up for college and shit. So, I ask Chaos Project.

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?

I want to make this game so hard, it's coming out YOUR asses >:3
52
Well, see, Chaos Project's got a LOT of creative people, but not all of them are interested in the english language... and maybe some don't know the concept of limiting a character's power.

So, I'm here to help with that! This is an academy for learning how to roleplay! The scenario is you are in a college, and you are your character. Roleplay, show me what you're doing. Teachers will go around correcting you on your mistakes, mostly that means me.

"So, students. This is your initiation. Also, for a note, due to the nature of this roleplay," the teacher up front said, being very meta in the process, "you will not be required to make a signup. Just start playing." She materialized a chalkboard behind her. Teachers did that often in the AoR. Most people pronounce it 'oar' when they say it. "The AoR is a school for those of you who are a bit lacking in roleplaying talent, or maybe just as an exercise if you're nervous."

She paused, and wrote something on the board: Requirements for joining: Establish first post and characterization. She smiled, and opened the floor to questions by saying, "That is all, any questions?"
53
Okay, so you want to make a story. Good for you! In fact, you've got an idea already! That's a good start.

:^_^': oh, but, it doesn't seem interesting?

8) NEVER FEAR. ULTAFLAME IS HERE. I always loved that line. You can replace Any Name in the third word there and it always works.

Okay, so, you're not satisfied with your previous work and you need some help. But alas, poor Yorick you, Ulta is not around. GASP! And beyond that, NOBODY IS RESPONDING TO YOUR REQUEST IN THE SERVICE!  right? Well that's where this thread comes in!

I'm UltaFlame and for the next few minutes, I'm going to be your guide. Your guide, your WONDROUS guide into the world of MAKING A COMPELLING STORY! It's okay! You can do it  ;)  ;)  :naughty:

Innuendo aside, let's be moving on.

Step 1: The Basic Idea.

First thing to remember is that absolutely nobody wants to hear a story that's full of cliche story elements. That said, nothing you'll come up with is going to be original. Basically, you have to be a ninja :ninja: a STORY NINJA. No, not really. :shy: (That's you!) So, to get a basic idea, you'll need to listen to your inner gamer. Is the story something you'd find incredible to play and have revealed? No? Then drop it! You're a gamer, you're a player! You know what makes a good game. Get a good basis and then you're ready to move on. Here, I'll provide you an example. We'll be expanding on this idea as we go through this guide. MARCH ONWARDS TO VICTORY! An important thing to keep in mind is the genre you're going for. Go with what you enjoy and are comfortable with. I'm comfortable with fantasy.

Mr. Knight is a well-trained soldier in an army. However, one day he is taken captive, and less than a week later his empire falls and he must escape and save the people from the enemy.

Seems like a decent start, doesn't it? That's all you need. Somewhere to branch off from. Don't even need names - if you have names at this point, you might end up getting too attached to the character and making him or her a sue. I established the main character's gender, part of his backstory, and gave a clear idea to myself who the enemy faction is. These are clear - they're the biggest part of the plot. Everybody knows the small details makes it flavorful, but at the heart of a tale you need a compelling cast.

Okay, step 2.

Step 2: Expanding the idea: Creating history.

So you know your basic idea. Don't get too clever with the characters. You need a good backstory for the world so it feels real and people can relate to the world in which the plot takes. An important part of this phase is naming things. This is a pretty easy part of it, depending on your story idea. It also is dependent on how you work. Do you tend to go deep into the history for some arbitrary reason, or do you focus on the here and now? Either way, let's just give a simple idea, so you can grasp the concept in work and not just in words.

The Empire of Estalonia(I'm a big fan of the ridiculous notion of random syllables for names) is a place of commerce. Its people are generally kind, and the civil watch is well-trained. However, war is common in their history. Estalonia is placed on a fertile land, surrounded by oceans and sprawling mountain ranges. Due to its location near water, it has a bustling sea-industry, and some pirates are known to dock at Estalonia hoping not to get caught.

In addition, across the mountains is a highly war-ridden land where several warbands compete for dominance. Kings and Emperors rise and fall daily, and everyone claims to be the true leader of the Burned Lands, so named for the famous battle which began the series of wars. Said battle was known as the Fight of the Burning Brigades, which shattered the power of ever major nation in the area. It is one of these warlords that concocts a plot to take over Estalonia to get an upper hand on his enemies.

There. A basic overview of the history. Only just enough to give you a basic idea, and a lot can be added in for flavor lore, and indeed in many cases this history can hold more of an importance to the plot than would first seem. Carrying on.

Step 3: Expanding the idea: Creating the plot!

This is it; perhaps the most important part of the game. The plot. The villain, the heroes. The side characters. Everyone comes together under this banner and tells each other 'It's time to rock some socks!' So you've got your idea, and you now have your history. Now is when you take your history, and go into the future. You've gotten up to your present, now it's time to take your present beyond that. You need to decide what the initiating event is and what the rising action will be, and the climax - the biggest moment - and the falling action and your resolution - which should be as big as the climax. You don't want to be too epic. If people keep getting bombarded with action, exploded into new plot points and never has any idea what's going on, they're going to be at the end of the game and say 'fuck this.' But they don't want to be bored. Now let's get to that example!

Mr. Knight(still not named), lieutenant in Estalonia's army, is on a scouting run, a patrol, when a warband attacks, overwhelming his small group with numbers. Taken prisoner along with another few surviving knights, Mr. Knight watches as the group maneuvers through the peace-drunk land and cuts straight at the heart of Estalonia's power, crippling their army and easily taking the castle. During the confusion, he manages to escape, and abandons his armor, burying it, so as to be able to hide from the warlord's men. As he comes upon a village, he is found anyway, and as the villagers help hide him, he decides he can't remain in Estalonia.

Fleeing to the Burned Lands, he begins to uncover the brutal truth behind the fateful battle of the Burning Brigades when he meets a small Otherian, a creature from the second planes. Resembling some cross between a fairy and an imp, the Otherian joins the party as a caster-warrior type character with a relatively low hp stat. As Mr. Knight and the Otherian avoid getting involved in major battles at the Burned Lands, they come across a sinkhole into an underground Temple. Lit by an eerie light with no source, the two discover that The Fight of the Burning Brigades was so named because the Burned Lands were used by the Second Plane as the battleground of the last ascension of the Otheria Throne.

In the Temple, they meet a group of ten people, of varying ages, who keep the Temple repaired and who's family had been there for decades. The Otherian picks out a young woman, known as the Caster-chick for now because she is the group's combined black and white mage.

I'll finish this later - I have to go to work now. Yay, extra hours! Woohoo!

It's kind of a longshot, but does anyone know any forums specifically dedicated to roleplaying? A friend at another forum asked and I was all 'ya know what, I wanna find one too!' and so I'm asking you guys.

His specifications were somethin' like 'I realize this is a hard achievement, but a place that isn't overrun by pre-teens whose RP posts consist of one-liners would be great, kthnxbai~'

Whenever you work out an interesting tidbit of information, and feel like sharing it, put it here.

For example: Whenever a month begins on a Sunday, that month will have a Friday the Thirteenth.

"Don't you think maybe we should wait a while this time, Luta? I'm hungry and this constant attacking is wearing me down," said the voice of a physically young, but otherwise mature girl. Destra didn't want this senseless destruction, but she'd seen that Luta could care about people, too. After all, the older girl had taken care of the blonde-headed child before they'd come to the surface. This place had been a wretched hive of scum and villainy, true, but Destra didn't think anything deserved death.

Though there was certainly a lot of death since Luta went crazy. "No! They all will die, for the terrible cost they've given." The pink-haired one's response caused Destra to sigh, but still she followed Luta through the destroyed remnants of a former city. A few moments passed without either of the two talking. A lot of moments were like this, lately. Awkward, wrong. "Fine. We can eat," Luta muttered, and lowering her voice to a stage whisper said, "freaking girl's going to slow me down."

"Shut up, Luta, I'm still young!" came the faux-furious response. Both shared a laugh, and Luta punched open a door to a mostly destroyed restaurant. The splintering wood crashed against the wall far on the other side of the building. "Yum, food! Om nom nom nom," Destra mimed the act of eating in a humorously exaggerated fashion. Luta just walked in to the back, finding some precooked food. It would be gross, she thought, but they didn't need to eat much to survive.

"Here. Eat."

"Yum."

Later, they stood outside another city. "Luta. I'm tired," Destra's voice was indeed coated with the drawl indicative of a need to sleep. Luta simply nodded, and the two found a simple place to stay the night. As time went on, Destra found herself feeling worse and worse about their situation. She wanted more friends, and she wanted no death. More importantly, she wanted Luta to be the kind person Destra remembered her being. And underground, ten others were starting to awaken.

They would feel a pull. The computer would react swiftly, rushing them through modes of conversation, teaching them the basics of their abilities, giving them their mission. For the first few hours, at least, there would be no thought. Just learning. Mass learning. The computer needed to hurry, hurry. Destra needed the rest of the group, and needed them fast. So, rush, rush. They can learn more on their own, in clashes and in downtime. Just so long as they learned what they absolutely needed.
