And so on and so forth, but I always enjoy a good honest opinion directly to see what others prefer the most.

Yeah, this is another example of how piracy helps spread the word is acts as a form of marketing. Maybe I come across an old game and like it so I check out what new stuff the company made and buy something.

There's a level of piracy that really shouldn't even be considered piracy in the first place, if anything; it should be considered as a "retreat" or "revision" of choices.

Heck, every time I play all these retro consoles and games for nostalgia; I still get that feeling that I really would rather own a PS3 or something. But then at the same time, I am also like "damn, if I wasn't poor; I'd be playing something new, but then again... nothing beats the classics".

In my honest opinion, and not to stir up a war; but if it is no longer an "active" product, then why should it matter.

2) Most of those I have to install onto my computer in the first place

3) I said I wanted one to myself that can be portable and used to battle AI for practice

Usually being sensitive implies being a pussy, because most people aren't sensitive. They are just pussies, but they are labeled (and label themselves) to be sensitive, because they don't understand the difference.

Or maybe, those who have no feelings and are cold-hearted have no sensitivity that they assume being nice at all is being a pussy as well.

A computer virus is simply a program designed to integrate itself deep into the OS and cause harm. Viruses written for Windows usually don't even work on Unix systems. And the brain doesn't run on Windows or Unix. Of course it's impossible. Unless we get cybernetic implants and chips that get a certain amount of control over us have their own OS for which you could write a virus, there is no way a computer virus could infiltrate a human brain.

Well duh, I already knew that... the question was "what if it was possible". Catch a computer virus that shuts down a computer... what if the same effect happened to humans, just shuts them down.

General Discussion / I can't believe I'm asking this

But anyways, do any of you know of a game/program that allows me to play Magic?

Cause all and all, after having been a long time Pokemon fan and Yu-Gi-Oh fan; I decided to now pursue Magic, but sadly... I can't seem to find any decent games/programs that I can run off of my flash drive.

So, since I can't find MAGIC on the internet anywhere; by any chance any of you know of a program, can build a program/game, or can portablize a previous program for me to actually learn how to play magic.

Like, after seeing it... I am more than fascinated, even more fascinated than I was when playing Yu-Gi-Oh; at least with magic, the cards look like something you'd see in a fantasy movie (werewolves, elves, etc).

So... any of you have any ideas of where I can find MAGIC to put on my flash drive, play against AI and get to know how the game works.

I've seen a few people play MAGIC the GATHERING: Land of the Planewalkers (or something like that) on youtube; and now I'm like "Oooh! I wanna play too!" But last time I checked, that program runs on DOS and like... I dunno how to make it run on my windows cause I'm not good with using the DOS commands such as

C:\somekindofcommand\location\command\filename.extension\start

or whatever the heck they ask you to do in that stupid thing.

(By the way, the program/game has to be FREE and PORTABLE)

So, members of chaos-project; it has come to my attention that there are so many portable programs to use and find on the internet, it is nearly impossible to decide which ones are the best for the business and which ones will only slow me down.

So far, even the browser I am using isn't Mozilla, IE, or Chrome; it is called "TheWorldBrowser".

Anyways, I have a simple but rather "open" request from anyone and everyone on here...

List for me your top favorite portable programs (programs that run COMPLETELY from the USB/Flash Drive), and what they do or what they are for.

At this time, I am currently looking for:

=Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware
=Web Browsers
=VPNs (Virtual Private Network)
=Unlockers
=Compressors/Decompressors
=Programs like RPGmaker & Game Editor
=Cleaners (that don't need admin rights or anything)

Pretty much, my goal is to run everything from my flash drive without having the hassle of dealing with admin rights and other nonsense.

So, without further adu/ado; begin listing programs that are PORTABLE and what they do or what they are for.

The best of the best and maybe even the 2nd best...

Kind of makes you think... doesn't it?

I mean seriously, what would happen if say a computer virus was able to infect humans? What would the outcome be? Who would get infected? How would we protect ourselves from something that came from our computer?

BONUS: If you had to catch a computer virus, which one would be interesting to catch? What do you think would happen if it infected you and actually did something?

Inspired by this comic, a colleague at work asked an interesting question: What would be the difference between thinking "outside the box" and thinking "without the box".

Let's narrow this down in another view...

Without the box would be being a virgin
Outside the box would be being a re-virgin

For example, to think outside the box would be to question if you really lost your virginity and if you can "start fresh" all over again. To think without the box at all would be to have never had sex, but constantly have it on your mind.

Or something like that... maybe I'm just full of shit and I haven't a clue what I'm saying; that sounds like the best answer thus far.

aka: How today's men are pussies.

http://manhood101.com/media.html

I believe there is a fine line between being a pussy and being sensitive.

Being a pussy pretty much says "you are weak willed and kind hearted to the point that you let anyone step all over you"
Being sensitive pretty much says the exact same thing, but minus the being stepped all over situation.

Heck, even I am one of those "sensitive" guys and I don't really like to force others into something they don't agree with; but at the same time, if someone tries to overpower me, they better be expecting a fight and some broken bones in their immediate future.

Intelligent Debate / Re: Human Existence?

So, I know Voltaire already devasted this argument, but what is human existence? What are we?

I realized something tonight. People say that there can never be true A.I. because it will always lack emotion... but what is emotion? Is it not just a figment of homeostasis, a flux in our thoughts that causes us to react, a flag raised at the sight of a stimuli? In that context, do computers not already have emotions...?

These kind of conversations are what hold the balance of life in order, and then also are what create the biggest wars known to man; needless to say, there really isn't a defined answer for this question.

No matter what opinions, facts, or really any input into this conversation; the fact of the matter is this... we are human, all things we do are human, and humans are what created all things in the first place.

Now, obviously there is more to life that what meets the eye; there most likely is something else out there that we just don't know about... but in any state, we are living in a world in which everything human is only re-created and re-produced by humans.

If humans didn't exist, how would the world be without us on it?
If humans didn't exist, how would the universe end up?

Honestly, I don't know too much... nor do I even think I know anything at all, but I do know that there really isn't a correct or incorrect answer to any question.

When is the Apocalypse going to happen? Will it happen in our lifetime? Maybe, maybe not. In science we're watching this Super Eruption movie about what would happen if Yellowstone National Park would erupt. When will it erupt? Will it erupt in our lifetime?

Will it happen in 2012? I'm frankly to be honest scared. If yellowstone does erupt imagine feeling that pain while we slowly die. All that ash in our lungs slowly turning to a liquid cement. I'd rather be up there and die instantly.

I think the Apocalypse will happen after our life. But who knows. Whats your thoughts about the Apocalypse? If yellowstone does erupt it could last for weeks or even be an endless Super Eruption. The beginning of the movie it said
"This is a true story, it just hasn't happened yet."

My question is when will it happen? In our lifetime? And if not will there be anything else that kills us all?

Post your thoughts.

With much respect, I fear pain more than I fear death... dying is the least of my worries, but dying painfully scares the snot right out of me.

Although, I will admit one thing... if the world did come to an end, it better be by a zombie apocalypse or something; that way at least it is amusing to a point.

(And by zombies, I mean the ones that are REALLY SLOW and REALLY STUPID)

But other than that, I get where you're coming from; it is a bit creepy, but sooner or later... we all die anyways, I just hope that we die peacefully.

Sometimes I'm shocked at how often and how easy it is to get way with things that are technically illegal.

THE most common by far in america is probably speeding. did you know that it is illegal to go even 1MPH over the posted speed limit? really it is. but the fact is that EVERYONE goes between 1-7MPH over the speed limit, and all but the strictest cops will let you go if your between 1-4 MPH as long as it isn't a school zone then they will give you 1-2 (though I've still heard of people pulled over for 2mph over)  and if your in a lard group of car that are speeding they will only pull over the guy who is passing or the leader. it simply isn't work their time or effort to go after everyone and keep people under the posted speed limit and thus it is the most commonly over looked "crime"

then there are what I refer to as "internet crimes" ranging from copyright breach, to pirating, to DMCA copywrite circumvention crimes. these "crimes" are so numerous and so hard to track that that only a tiny portion of them are ever known and damages pursued.

the reason I bring this up is that recently there has bee a few topics that bring up the fact that using the RTP outside of RMXP is a breach of the EULA and copywrite infringement. however that fact that such a crime is a civil matter most every where means that if enterbrain wanted to pursue damages then they would need to spend boat load on layers and legal processes to sue the target for damages and legal fees.  the fact that most of their targets would be people between 12 and 24 they people who likely don't have enough money to even cover the legal fees means that it is highly unlikely that they will ever do such a thing and are more likely to ignore it.

tl;dr it is common place for people to get away with crimes because it isn't work the effort to carry out a punishment

my conclusion is that the legal bloat in the world protects people my making so that companies and those with money cant just plague us with frivolous charges ect. but it also lets countess lesser crimes through, ignores because the legal bloat makes it too much work to rectify it.

what are your thoughts?

All and all, there is a level of "legal understanding" that I will never see.

Like for example, here in the USA... pedophilia-like anime is considered to be just straight up "pedophilia" and you can be charged as a criminal for it.

Now, on one level; I can understand where people are coming from, pedophilia is wrong and disturbing... plain and simple.
But on the other level... it is ANIME, not real people; so what is the big deal?

If anything, the way I see legality in the world of today is this:

"As long as it doesn't PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, FINANCIALLY, or EMOTIONALLY harm someone else (with direct intent of course); then what the hell should it matter?"

Like yeah... child porn is WRONG, but ANIMATED child porn is just like... "lol, it isn't even REAL PEOPLE; how the hell am I a criminal for watching animations?"

Intelligent Debate / Re: Money or Passion?

Recently, I just had the opportunity to choose between these two. :uhm:

I'm currently job hunting because I can't afford school for a while... But luckily, I was soon spotted by a game publishing company and was immediately "hired" as a game management personnel (GM and Mod)... Although I'm still a week away from the contract signing, I already feel like this job is where I should stick to, since it's the closest I could probably get to observing how the game industry works... :D

However, just yesterday, my mom and aunt found a call center job with the same salary but has better incentives like transportation and food allowances... Although it's not that much of a difference, it's still pretty decent considering that I won't have to pay for some of those and will just have to worry about the job... :^_^':

My big problem now is that I have no idea which one to choose... If I get the game job, I won't be able to save up faster for a laptop and might take half a year, and even the employer said that promotions are only given when absolutely needed... But I will love what I do... On the other hand, I never thought my talent for english, math and logic would be wasted on answering impatient customers... Sure, I'd have a decent pay but I don't like my job... I sure would love to take some extra dough for my folks, though... And it seems that promotions here are more often compared to the other one... :P

I'm really confused right now and I know I'm not very good at making decisions on my own so I'd like to have some external opinions... :3

And if you were in my situation, what do you think you would choose? :)

I am going to try and be as respectful as I can be, but in the current life we are in; passion is nothing more than a daydream followed by a nightmare. Sooner or later, your passion will come to an end; and then you will have to pursue something you care less about.

Overall, the way I see it (no offense to anyone); just get a job, work your ass off and keep yourself (and those you care for) alive and well.

That is pretty much it... cause seriously, a job is a job... regardless or not if you like it, as long as it isn't ILLEGAL; then you better work until your hands are sore, your feet are sore and your entire body is aching from the agony that swells over.

Intelligent Debate / Re: Morality.
October 18, 2013, 06:56:10 pm
Like what many have already said, the idea of "morals" itself is merely a figment of hysteria.

Or in other words, because different people and places have different moral beliefs; you can't just subject anyone to one specific moral. Some people have morals that to many of us, appear as something absolutely disturbing and bizarre.

If anything, morals are just a means to justify what you do and why you do it. Although it isn't exactly a justificiation, but more or less; a way to create an "acceptance" without being accepted.

Intelligent Debate / Re: About Piracy
October 18, 2013, 06:53:06 pm
There's a level of piracy that honestly doesn't make any sense, seeing as how it is almost similar to a real life situation; but through technological means.

Like, for example... illegally downloading worn out games and game systems (emulators). These companies know full well that there is almost no way to get these systems, and also these companies know that they won't get money for us buying the system on Craigslist or something; and yet they still post on their website pages:

"It is illegal to download older game systems and games" (or well, that's pretty much what they're saying)

In my mind, I'm like "How the hell am I supposed to get this game or game system otherwise? Heck, you don't even make it anymore; the least you could do is say 'you know what, if you enjoy the classics; then congrats, but please... if you can, try and buy something from us'.

Oh well, nothing much you can do to change that -.-

Intelligent Debate / Re: Who's worse?
October 18, 2013, 06:46:03 pm
Well, we are looking at it from a general perspective; couting out the odds and ins of each side.

On one hand, you have someone who follows along; most likely hoping that good things will come their way, yet deep in their heart they know better.
On the other hand, you have someone who tends to force the situation the way they want it; creating a decent profit and striving from the matter that is.

If anything, you still have to bring in the other variables such as "common sense".

Although both people play a small role in life that millions of us do, there is still that small portion of our hearts or our minds that tell us to do differently.

At any moment, either of them could change... whether by choice or by being forced.

Intelligent Debate / Reasonable or Not?
October 18, 2013, 06:35:34 pm
Alright, with minimal effort; I plan on starting this thread in hopes that it may turn out to become a "sticky" thread as many consider.

Question: "Is it reasonable to _______________________?"

Solution/Opinion: "I believe that it is/isn't reasonable to _____________________..."

So, the idea of this, is to list something that you consider to be unreasonable; then give a reason as to why it is unreasonable and see what others may say.

Now, I shall begin and see where this goes... hopefully you people on here don't take these conversations as seriously as people on OffTopicz.com

Question: "Is it reasonable to say that RAPE can be considered a fetish?"

Solution/Opinion: "Clearly not! Considering that 'rape' itself is defined as an unwanted and unpleasant sexual act, how does one have a fetish for something such as this? If you look at it clearly, both of the definitions for 'fetish' and 'rape' differ from one another; 'rape is considered to be unwanted and pleasureless, while a fetish is full of pleasure and wanted badly. Therefore, only one of these definitions can exist; thus making it so that these words cannot go together."

Anyone else agree... or disagree?

[Proceed with replying to this question or starting a new one]

Intelligent Debate / Re: Jesus was never real
October 18, 2013, 06:23:14 pm
From my own perspective, religion in itself is nothing more than a solid opinion; fueled by dependence and run by self-love. That in itself is the ultimate sin (assuming sins are even existent).

If anything, assuming that religion itself existed; the real question would be... "would religion exist if everything human and remotely human didn't exist?"

Like, think about it... we are the creators and designers of all that is, all that was, and all that will be; we are those who have created these ideas and without us being around, it would simply be just living by instinct.

Although, animals are better off anyways; humans are a disease, just saying.
