It would be a small edit. And ughh! Its my terrible menu system D: (Not saying it looks bad I'm saying it was probably one of the worst coded scripts that I've ever made)

It's the only one I liked that worked right away. There is one called Diago Menu or something form another site or from here which is epic but it changes way to much and couldn't get it to work.

The 3 members there hardly come. Yet I go to their sites and post or shout in the shout box about once a day or more :...: But right now there is a download for an auto update program. Shortly there will be a user demo of a CMS (Content Management System) I'm creating in ASP.net. Its a gaming CMS. There will be two modes. Once for sites that want to be like IGN and for clans. Both systems will be free unless you want custom features. But I'm not talking requests for them yet until i have a decent layout and it public release is near. The clan system layout will be a lot easier than a site like IGN. Along with my MMO that is currently being tested by me for script compatibility. Will be adding More information shortly.

I was just on there. Got my butt kicked by a guard. My bad for trying to figure out the controls. As i said might want to re-map them. They are really confusing. Also when you die you might want to find a way to stop the weather.

Snow in a house?: ShowHide

That was about 5 minutes before posting this. There where more but I don't have enough time to take pictures and post them here. Well for right now i don't have the time off to work we go!

I've added two screen shots. There will be a demo of the crafting system shortly. Also for G_G is it possible to change the name on your menu to the own players use to create their account?

Are you still looking for some game to help mapping? I've come to except I'm a horrible mapper and better off at sticking with eventing. I have the tilesets I want to use. Although they are different styles. Which actually might work out in my favor for there are 4 regions. If you would like to know more about the game look here.

I know there hasn't been updates in a while, School/Mid-terms/College kicking my ... But I've been working hard on this and another project in my free time. I just need a few maps up and running to help get this moving so i'm able to release an alpha or beta test.

Contacting me:
Either through PM or

Give me a few days and I'll have some mockups for you if you would like to map.

Oh yeah... finally... all worked... but I have a request... You see, everyone's appearance on my game is the same... Is there a script that can let people choose their eyes, hair, mouth etc. in order to create a custom character? Like most games, they can let people choose their own appearance and type in their name... do you have a script like that, Blizzard?

So far from what i know the only way to have different characters is to make a starting map where users may choose a avatar and then with an event change the character avatar. Other than that there is no way to customize a user to my knowledge as far what you want.

Your using quite an old version of the OS there...

1.01

So... is that a problem? :???:

First I'd update the OS to the current version of 1.09. And see if it fixes. You should always use the newest version of a program that is released. Then only touch the Host and SqlHost options in the config and see if it works.

change your server ip to your internal ip address. Then you should be ok. Also make sure your ports are forwarded correctly.

Still can't make it to work... who can list the the things that I may have done wrong? I can't launch RMX-OS.rb cuz when I double-clicked it, it opened for about 1 second or so then closed automatically... Suggestions? It's best that someone could gimme a list of what I may have done wrong and then I can try everything out... hehe... thanks...  :^_^':

I had the same problem when i first started with 1.08. Your best option is to post in the quote tags your config file. I found out I had it totally jacked up and thats why it didn't run.

Okay...  I'm stupid.

Do you have to set the thing up on an item or something?  I used the script call on an action-button triggered event and it pulled the log up no problem.  ><

All quests are set up through the script. If you read threw the script you will notice how it is set up.

I set everything already... But I'm not sure about the host and the port... what should I type in? Coz when I type in my IP it won't work...

You should use the IP-address of your localhost, in most of the cases that is: 127.0.0.1

In most cases? Then if I'm not one of those "most"? How can I check my localhost... I'm new to these so... please forgive me... :shy:

Bring up your command prompt window. Type in ipconfig. Your local host will wither be 127.0.0.1 or more likely a 192.168.x.x ip Find the 192.168.x.x and put it in the config file.

(x.x. - is more numbers for your ip.)

I also suggest using no-ip or something like that to hide your external ip when you ship out your client.

Programming / Scripting / Web / Re: VB.NET Updater
March 19, 2010, 01:12:07 pm
I was gonna say i didn't  read anything about it. So is your updater all in ruby then?

Version 0.2 is out. With this update there was a visual downgrade. The web Browser component was deleted. It was causing problems. It will be added again. Just wont use I.E. Also there was some useless code that was deleted. The structure of the entire program was re-worked. The design is to the original c#. Support for graphics was taken out but will be added and all you will have to do is change the image file. The image will not be hard coded. As in the form loader event will load an image file which will be the background. Will add the ability to save on download time and use a more logical update system. Instead of having one zip that you have to update multiple times. Idea came from jcinsider's updater. Breaks the updates down into sprites, sounds, Game data, images. Not sure how I will implement this yet. But I think of a way.

As blizzard said above me he has made an offcial RMX-OS updater, which is not released yet. Once it is released I suggest you use that one instead of this.

Oh lol! I already made an in-game updater plugin for RMX-OS and now this. xD I just can't release the auto-updater yet.

Wait when did this happen? If I knew you where going to make an in-game updater I wouldn't of done this. Then again it is still a great way to learn on how to download files and update other things.

I'm going to take out the web browser. I really don't like it. And I'm going to re do the structure and have it auto download the ver.txt so you don't have to click check for updates.

Bytes will be switched to Megabytes so it wont show 19098 for 19.10 megs. Also will be added a percent on the progress bar.

Nice, crzy, though might I suggest you fix the grammar error that can be seen in the screenshot?
(Should be "you're," not "your.")

You are correct. I know I have some things that slipped by me. I've been working on making it work in vb.net. Although the converter did most of the work. I had to rework the entire checking for updates though. Now to figure out how update the updater so that you can change the layout once in a while. I know it won't over write files when they are in use. But that can be done later. Rather fix up the errors I have now.

Author's Notes/Planned Updates
I will not accept any PM's on this system/program. Updates will come when I have time.

I removed the IE web browser. It was causing to many problems.
Bytes received compared to total amount was changed to percent completed. The bytes received/bytes total size was causing some crashing issues.
Better error handling was not added. Decided to stabilize the program first. This is why its an update but a visual downgrade. I will add the web browser
Code is restructured and more organized. Useless code is now eliminated.

I know its been a while. Sorry for the double post. I was able to finally get this working. No more errors. Now my question is what type of License is there for this? I don't know a lick of c#. So I was wondering if i may transform this into a vb.net project and modify it.

Thanks for your answers. Of course the orginal author will be credited in the Commits of my vb.net version.
