Lol nice, reminds me of when I uses to play ruby/sapphire with my little brother. We would do that thing where you could see eachothers secret base, lol. So much fun on the gba...

Spoofus

I still have my Pokemon: Sapphire, and I picked up a few games today at a store that just opened up in my town that only sells retro games and systems.

I got:
Parasite Eve
Tales of Destiny 2
another copy of Secret of Mana
Rogue Galaxy
and a few others.

I will post a picture of them when I get the chance to.

I USED to have all those, except Origins (but I did have Tactics!).
That was before I sold them all years ago... :(
I am done scripting for RMXP. I will likely not offer support for even my own scripts anymore, but feel free to ask on the forum, there are plenty of other talented scripters that can help you.

Secret of Evermore just came to my mind. Man. That game was awesome. I still remember the commercial. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEu8wDAQuDk

I just finished replaying these games while at work, and I gotta say I did miss them. SNES has to be my favorite generation of gaming, it is just something about them that just clicks with me ya know.

The games I played through again for the countless time now:
Kid Clown in Crazy Chase
Brainlord
Secret of Evermore
and Robotrek

they just don't make games like they use to. Games now seem to focus on how pretty they can be rather than having fun gameplay and story lines etc.

I might be in a minority but... I do like my older games but I love quite a few of the games that are new. You have those telltale games that make great platforms for storytelling. Life Is Strange is sooo good ._. I also recently picked up Ori in the Blind Forest and I'm really digging the gameplay/art/story.

I picked up an N64 emulator recently and I've been playing Majora's Mask. I love that game sooo much.

Wow, what a commercial! Secret of Evermore is a very peculiar game, it was made for the western market, wasn't it?

Also, even if it looks pretty similar to the Mana series, it is completely different. And in fact it has loads of bugs that the Mana games don't have, mostly because of the alchemy system but also in the way it manages the party members or something. You should see a speedrun to know how broken is this game. Or maybe not xDD.

Some weeks ago I started Ocarina of Time, but time has been a bitch with me (dem work, much busy), and so it has been like two weeks since I beaten the forest temple, and haven't made progress since.

Apparently Square's North America division took the engine from Secret of Mana and hacked it to create Secret of Evermore which is also why it has a very American feel to it and was never released in Japan.

On another note I played through Chaos Legion recently. I saw some guy speedrun it and I was thinking "Shit, I think I can do this better with some practice." since I saw him not using some tricks that I knew could save some time here and there. I haven't committed to speedrunning it yet though. xD

@orochii: yes, SoE was made to appeal to the western audience, I love how the hero makes a random movie reference for just about everything, and the dog has always made me laugh, where it get's the hero into more trouble than is needed sometimes. Also if you play SoE on emulator there are versions that have multiplayer unlocked. You should play it, cause the ending is such a twist and funny at the same time.

@Blizz: SoE is the same engine as SoM just that they locked the multiplayer out of it, cause people didn't use it much in SoM back then.

I still love the theme of SoE where it is  just a ordinary guy and his dog on a crazy adventure.

Actually I was playing Seiken Densetsu 3 with my girlfriend <3 (just after we finished Legend of Mana *v*). It could be fun to play SoE later, after we manage to beat SK3 xD.

You know, multiplayer RPGs are great. They don't have the problems of MMOs where the story is rarely well developed. And of course, since there are two (or more?) characters, the possibilities for roleplay are higher.

I can't think right now of a well made multiplayer RPG (though I'm not savvy on the matter). I know you can play things like Fable with friends, but... I don't know, it's not the same. One of the character feels out of his place, like just thrown in there. This happened in Legend of Mana too but you could also use the NPCs, they often had something valuable to add to the story.

Spoofus

I could compile a list of snes era rpgs that I enjoyed playing that had good stories(to me anyways) and were just fun to play for you. Now some of them won't have multiplayer but I think you may still enjoy them.

Not entirely. There are a couple of modifications, one of the most obvious probably being the alchemy system. Another one that I can name from the top off my head is the different running system with stamina and the fact that you can run much longer if you first charged your weapon. Enemy and boss AI are also quite different. There are also subtle modifications in how hit boxes, collision and evasion work.

I used to play SoM with my sister. xD I was really disappointed when SoE didn't have the multiplayer so we could play together.

SoE and SoE are awesome games indeed, one of my friends actually gave me a modded SoE cartridge with the multiplayer mod + difficulty patches enabled
(2 player mod let's player 2 play as the dog, you can toggle this on and off, the difficulty patch, reworks some of the alchemy damage formulas, makes some cool items more frequent and available, levels all weapons of the same family instead of individually and made the dog not-so-OP at the endgame)

I gotta say, it's quite a contrast from SoM, but all in all both are some really good RPG's,

moving that aside, the same guy who gave the modded SoE cart, also recently obtained an english copy of little samson, I'll probably play it a bit on the weekend and check it out.

Now I figured I would post this up.

I dunno who here has played the Breath of Fire series, but I have managed to get my hands on all the games, plus the gba ports.
The only port I am missing is the Breath of Fire 3 psp port, and once I have that I can truly say I have managed to get my hands on all of the games for the series.

Without further ado:

Now I am not opposed to the idea of getting the psp port of BoF3 if someone has it.  :naughty:

I'll have to get pictures, but I have a similar collection with the Final Fantasy games. Black Label cases + Manuals + near perfect discs. All the way from 1-12 (PSX + PS2 Era, Minus FFXI and the new III since VI was technically III I still think its fucking stupid)

FF Origins had I + II
FF Anthology had V + VI
FF Chronicles had Chrono Trigger + IV
Also had Chrono Cross Black label + Manual since it felt right to have it alongside the collection.

I didn't go that in depth in chasing after ports for other systems like the GBA ports. I'll make sure to get pictures.
