Script Requests / [RESOLVED] Killing the SDK.
July 10, 2010, 10:00:26 pm
I'm trying to get this script to work without needing the SDK.  It's a relatively short script, but as I know basically nothing about the SDK and its methods this is completely beyond my ability.  It'll be a while before I'm capable of decent coding. >_<'
Here's a demo.  For the record, the script is Elei's Lockpicking Minigame:

If you want me to upload to a different site, just let me know.  Hope this isn't too much trouble.

Projects / Games / Ice
April 20, 2009, 08:49:30 pm

You awaken in a frozen tower, filled with statues.  You cannot remember a before, if a before ever existed; you do not know what will happen after, if you live to see that day.  You only know that you must leave this place.
Ice, when one attempts to classify it to a genre, is a free roaming puzzle game.  There can be more than one way to solve a puzzle, each solution holding it's own consequences; there is an alternate ending, for those talented enough to reach it; many areas in the tower are optional, and hold rewards in the form of plot.  There are no battles, but there is one method through which you can die.  To truly understand Ice, you'd have to play it, and moreso than that, complete it more than once (which shouldn't be much of a problem, as the game is only half an hour to an hour).  With that said, I'll now provide media in the form of screenshots, and a download to the project.
I realize I'm not providing much information in the way of story and the like, but as the game is so short in length and I really did provide anything that isn't an interpereted part of the plot, I feel this thread does it justice.

The game may be downloaded here (click).  The file is only 5 MB.  And a special thanks to Forgotten Bard for betatesting; without him I wouldn't have been able to post this up here.

Troubleshooting / Help / Corrupted Data? [RESOLVED]
November 01, 2008, 12:54:57 pm
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-
I keep my project on an external hardrive.  When I had to quickly eject the hard drive, I didn't bother to click "Safely remove hardware".  I think I had closed the Game.rxproj, though I'm not entirely sure, and I know I had the project folder up when the flash drive was ejected.  Now opening up the Game.rxproj gives me a 'Failed to load system data' error.  Opening the Game.exe gives me the popup:
Script 'Scene_Title' line 29: ArgumentError occured.

marshal data too short
And then the game window closes.  I tried copying over the scripts.rxdata to a new project, which worked, but copying the entire Data folder and attempting to open the rxproj gave me the same error.  Thankfully, Audio and Graphics are definately safe, because I used a different RTP to hold their data.
Please, if anyone knows how I can recover the data, I'd be grateful.  And of course I'd update this post if insufficient information was given. ;)

General Discussion / Mapping Improvement Thread
October 25, 2008, 10:24:44 pm
It's pretty self-explanatory. You post up your maps, people critique whichever maps they like and if they so choose post their own. Remember to take criticism with a cool head, (i.e. no flaming) yer the one who wanted critique in the first place.
To the mods: If this is in the wrong section, please move it, or if one of these threads already exist, feel free to lock it. :)
I'll start this off:

Crappy version of Photoshop caused it to fad out around the edges, sorry. :P

Most of you have already heard of the map links script.  I believe it's a script that lets you seamlessly tile two different maps together, even if they use different tilesets.  I've lost my copy of it though.  Does anyone have a link to the script?  Thanks! :D

I had first inserted Blizzard's Custom Input Module to get Berans' piano script to work properly.  After going through and having to delete some little eye candy scripts (such as a window that pops up whenever you gain an item) the game could actually appear without crashing immediately.  However, a button mashing minigame involving button input processing, which had previously worked fine, now freezes.
Now, I could get into the long list of scripts I have installed, but first I'd like to know:  Does the input module use anything to replace Button Input Proccessing?  If it helps, the Custom Input Module is inside Blizz's Tons-of-Addons v 6.56b.
If you know what I'm doing wrong, or if I'm not explaining well enough, please say so!  :.)

Welcome! / Hey.

Hi, I'm KRoP (other aliases: King of Red Pancakes, Mr. Muffin).
I spam, complain about scripting imcompatibilities, and abuse the chat.  I started using RPG Maker XP at the age of 8, or something like that, and am nearly twelve.  I currently own both RPG Maker XP and RPG Maker VX, though I currently have released no completed games.  I have a tendency to be banned. :^_^': I also go to the forums RPG Palace (though the site has apparently been down for quite some time), eminweb and RMXP.org.

So, what else did you want to know? 8)
