Messages - MetalRenard

In my opinion, each of them is equally good but they all give a different image of your game. These are all, as I said, personal opinion.

The first is light hearted and friendly. It'd be good for a game that doesn't dig too deep into the psyche.
The second is my favourite but that's got nothing to do with your question. It has a certain mesmarising effect about it and would be good for some kind of treasure-based quest game.
The third shows betrayal lust and violence. If your game is like that then it's this one.

I hope that helped!

Please delete this thread and create another in its place since I am leaving the project as I am unhappy with the terms.

Good luck guys, no harm done.  :)

He does some intersting stuff, why not? :)
Make sure it's specified he needs to do orchestral stuff and not electronic stuff though.

The only issue I see is with the production, but that's partly due to the youtube video/audio quality.

I'll leave it to a project manager to contact him.

This is more of a jingle, like when Link finds an object in Zelda?
This one is for a royal entrance:

It's meant to be played just once.

not really.  If you just want a loop you can simply not use an intro.  It actually gives more freedom, not less.

I'm not talking about the game creator's point of view, I'm talking about the music writer's point of view.

Yes, it would be nice, but to do that you need to be 100% sure you're going to do it because music needs to be written to accommodate that. If you change your minds later then it's too late.

Upload a .wav lossless file and I can do the rest.

Also, try and keep the audio quality consistent. If you have issues with sound production I can help.

I think that you should just do anything you feel like doing that needs to be in the RTP and we can put everything in there.
Later on we can decide what to keep and what we don't want.

Basically, don't 'reserve' a type of music, just do it. :)

Ok, let me know when it's done ;)

Music for the ARC RTP

This is the topic for discussing music that's going into the RTP.
If you upload a song to the RTP drop box, create and mp3 or ogg of it, upload that to a hosting site and post the link here. I'll edit the links into this post.

Specifications:
Music submitted to the RTP needs to be high quality flac.
Music on the thread can be an mp3 or ogg... Or any file that is easily read by Mr average without the need of a specialised codec.
Music must loop seamlessly.

Here's a list of what an RTP needs (I will add to this):

1st file uploaded to the drop box. It loops perfectly and seamlessly.
Now... you want to create a music section or something so we can coordinate our work (I'm not the only musician right?)

Oh that's ok, my software detects the end automatically or, in this case, I'll tell it to stop abruptly at the end of the MIDI file I composed with within the software.
Easy as eating a watermellon while handgliding! ... Oh that's quite hard. Well it's easy.

Ok then. That's pretty bad.

If you can make the beginning and the end match and give me the song speed in BPM and the number of tacts, I can pretty much cut it myself in Audacity (actually you can, too xD). That's the least problem.

I have given you access to the RTP.

Hey don't touch my files! *runs away crying*
Don't worry, I'll edit the original project files to change the ending of the song so it matches the beginning. And... What's a tact?  :^_^':

Where can I find the access point to the RTP? I'll have a look around but if you're gonna answer my 1st question, might as well answer the 2nd too!
=> Found it.
...
Oh you posted new messages while I was typing.

Erm I don't use VLC Media Player, it crashed about 20 times on my machine so I gave up. I use Winamp now. Haven't tested the loop on that though.

I would like to be credited "MetalRenard" since that's how people have come to know me in the RPG Maker community.
Thanks.

Ok then, but right now we may be equally bad. I currently don't have a social life. Every social interraction I have is through this screen.
Why?
Because 1) I'm about to move countries (from France back home to the UK)
2) I didn't get on well with the French XD

Ha! You have competition :P

Okies. Well in return for perfectly looping tracks, I want software that can create a perfect loop.
Can you do that?

It needs to load the file before it finishes playing and play it exactly at the end of the previous track's ending (even though they're both the same track). *points to windows media player* That doesn't do it. *points to RPG Maker* That doesn't do it.

If you do that then the least I can do is provide big endings without fadeout. It would be a waste otherwise though.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Digisoul, do you plan on making a lot of music for it? In which style? For which occasions?
Maybe we need to decide ahead of time who will make what.

I specialise in rock and filmscore for example. What do you do?
