Hey. I'm leaving for a while. Shits been going down and it really pisses me off and no, it's not my grades because they're fine. Lots of things happen I suppose and we can't do anything about them, but I'm not really in the mood to deal with them. so, I'm going to seclude myself in the real world before I come back here and MSN. I'd like to just get away from it all. I'll be trying to hang out with some friends and organize something I've always really wanted to do, but never had the commitment.

I'll start this off saying this is the first time I've ever reviewed anything, so feel free to give me advice on better format. I'll next point out that I'll not listen to you anyways. I use a 4 point scale, with 1 being the lowest and 4 being the highest. The following review is extremely opinionated and biased.

All of these should be self explanatory.

Synopsis:
The story starts out in a town, a small town, described as frozen in time. It, as we will hear quite often is the town where memories come to die. This town is isolated for one purpose only: to house both the Mnemonicides who treat patients afflicted with the Dolor and those afflicted with the disease. Mnemonicides, if you can remember your Greek roots, is a term for "memory". Combined with the Latin "occido", a term for kill found in suicide and other such words, this term realistically means "Memory Killers". We are introduced to the first of two main characters in the story, Blackiris. He, in fact is as strange as his name is. On his meaningful and ceremonious walk to his new living space, he provides a beautiful narrative account of the setting, the wonderful town where "memories come to die". Upon reaching the house, he meets with, for seemingly the first time, "La". La is a beautiful young girl, whose kindness and innocence are illustrated from the very beginning of the story. These two, along with others, find their pasts and confront their fears in a town where people come to escape these very things.

Artwork
The art work was mediocre, nothing special, certainly better than I could draw. Scenes were illustrated as they appeared in the narrative accounts, a definite plus. Overall, it gets a 2 for lackluster drawings, but nothing terrible.

Characters
The characters in this visual novel are endearing and find a special place in my heart. The development is superb. Well done. 4.

Plot:
The story follows a decent enough plot. Nothing amazing, but very well played. 3.

Setting:
Absolutely fascinating. Best setting I've ever seen in a visual novel. It gets a ten for its brilliant use of setting in relation with plot and characters. 4.

Overall:
As you can tell, I'm already liking this visual novel quite a bit. It's definitely worth the play. I can't find anything to bitch about so I'll skip and give the final judgment.

That's right kids, I finally got around to attempting to produce a game. I intend to complete this to the best of my abilities and will provide as much effort as I can singularly muster to make this a success.
In what way did magic enter the land of Chrono Trigger? How did the Kingdom of Zeal get started? What could have possibly caused the rift between the "Enlightened Ones" and the humans who possed no magic? I intend to maybe put a bit of my own spin on this and maybe even provide a form of entertainment at the same time.

Chrono Trigger's Kingdom of Zeal has yet to begin and the world has not found peace after the ice age has settled in. The people who dwell on this land have yet to organize and are loosely based in kingdoms, which are tribal in nature and they lack the resources and the leadership to get started. no magic has entered this world to taint and corrupt it's populace.

From the ashes of one former family of control, an aristocrat of the lower levels emerges a hero of the people, not unlikely, but unwilling to be the savour of his people and the world...

Enomenos was a poor boy, but respected nonetheless. He in his own right had all the makings of a noble of the newly formed court, his region being highly progressive. It so happened that life would strike a bargain with this newly found talent and render him the victim of fate, to lead upon the world a revolution of sorts and bring to their knees a generation refusing to embrace the saving light of unity. So it seemed...

You are the heir to magic and the one to unite the kingdom. The journey is long, the allies less than dependable and the food horrible. Nevertheless, you are the only hope for the generation and the only hope for the new order of humanity to succeed. You have to use your charisma and influence, applied with cunning and strength of will, to succeed. Fear not, your path is lighten by enemies turned good and friends turned evil. The path is bitter and so may be the spoils, but, no path left untested, never should you falter. Reprecussions of good deeds are rewarded tenfold in the life after and Union must be secured and preserved.

His feeling towards women are hostile at best, due rather to his fear of them than any prejudice, and he rarely meets a person with whom he can accept as his equal.

I don't really want to make a debate into this, but the public's opinion can sometimes be used as a good idea. What I mean is that Spoofus may not really take this fully into account, as these are just suggestions. It's not like he just thought of this without reason to back it up. Possibly Spoofus was deadlocked and confused to what weapon his hero should wield and he just needs a little help from the community to get it all back up. Whatever it is, I do agree with your point that the author himself is the best source for decisions like this, but when the author simply can't decide or make one, then it wouldn't hurt to get help (Until the author gets dependent on it like drugs, then it'll be unhealthy).

Weapon choice really matters on the setting of the story and what preference the character likes himself. I see the Bo and Tonfa are pretty popular choices so far (The Boomerang as well). It doesn't matter what personality your character will have when it comes to their wielding weapon. And personality to weapons are just sick generalizations. D: Just choose what you like, do research for the weapons, get a good history going, and have fun with it. XD

The reason I say this a bad question, not asking for a debate either, is that none of us could possibly suggest anything that would be nearly as self-satisfying as picking one yourself. We no neither the whole story nor the nuance of each respective character and we will no neither unless we were to reside in Spoofus' own mind. The author might reach a point where he remains fixated on a certain point, such as weapon or clothing or mood, but in the end he himself will resolve it. i suggested what was traditional and considering Spoofus picked all those weapons himself he /should/ know of all the possiblities, within reason of course. There is, or should not be, no problem with the story and weapon type relationship as this would defeat the purpose of asking as I'll assume he went through the trouble of making a story, and the weapon was a matter of "cool" or "unique". If the matter is on the "coolness" of said weapon then disregard my statements as my point is moot, seeing as I assume that this is a matter of resolution. Upon being a matter of resolution, I argue that HE is the only one who is capable of creating a solid plot so long as he himself is the creator alone. This is due to the tone an author or creator feels towards their creation, this feeling will determine the outcome of the plot and story as a solid unit as a whole. You seemed to agree with me however, saying he should do his own research and get a good history going, which seemingly states that you would wish him to do this himself while using our votes as an elimination point.

and btw i dont think many people would like to reside in my mind (kinda messy )

but the main purpose of this topic is to which weapon people that are to be players as well, would like to see being used,
and yes i do know that one of the weapons on the list will be used for sure,but lets put it this way all those who vote are helping narrowing down the choices of weapons that are out there.
so please dont take this topic in the wrong way..but you all do have good points on this

oh and on a side note*
the theory that the typical lazy laid back people are sword weilders..is sort of a cliche from movies and anime i think..
im really just trying to stay clear of swords if i can one reason im not really a sword guy

Try some rather onorthodox weapons in that case. Try and be as uncliche as possible. The MOST uncliche are the fan and the tanto. They all have been used a lot but out of those four try and stick with those two if you want to be not as dry with your story.

Well this is too be my first advertisement, not to say I'm proud of it. It's an IRC channel started by Ultaflame and mylsef to act as the outlet for all our antics ^_^

All characters are welcome but your strength is determined byt the amount of time you have spent on the forums, and no, not the days online xD

I won't be too strict on the limits of your people so long as you bring a good character to the table! Follow the storyline but feel free to play as many parts as you want. RMXP Linux

Alrighty then. My first "tut" I'm making will be how to install RMXP on a Linux OS, Ubuntu in my case. I'll try and get a broad enough explaination so every Linux user can use this tut. I use Ubuntu so this is based off an Ubuntu Experience. This is quite simple in the long run. No need to do anything aside from the point and click method xD. The one part of this I'm concerned about would be installation. I'm not familiar with all the Linux distros but I'm sure Ubuntu isn't the only one with a nice program to load apps.

Wine's Homepage This is the homepage of the Wine software. It's a program for UNIX like enviorments to run Windows programs. Download it in any method you see fit, terminal, compile the source code...heck use the standard application adding tool if you feel like it.

Next, after all is installed and good is in the internet, go to your folder with your rmxp file that says "setup.exe". Try clicking it and it should open up the standard window. If you click the buttons however, it may not load them. Solution? Go into the Setup1 folder and look for your "RTP_Standard_102.msi". Right-click and go to permissions. Click the "Allow executing file as a program" clicky. Right-click again and open with the wWine program loader. The menu should come up now. Next, go to the folder marked Setup2 and do the same to the "RPGXP_102a.msi". This will install it.

Run it through Wine under your apps or go to the virtual C:\ drive through terminal by typing wine explorer and go into program files\Enterbrain. It shouldn't have a problem obtaining the trial number thing xD

Note: Do not try and click the standard toolbar thingy (Says File on it) Only use the icon based one. This is due to a problem in the Wine program which is trying to be fixed. I'll try and find a good solution but don't count on it. Also you must install the standard windows fonts like Arial to have texts. Scripts will run fine and all. To play games you must also load the .rxproj and play i that way. I haven't seen a normal game run but I'm guessing it will produce an error. I'll work out a way to fix that one with the commandline I hope so bare with me

Tell me if this doesn't work for your particular Linux Distro and I'll find a suitible solution. Tell me if you still can't do this and I'll work it out for you.

PS: I'll clean this thread with some cool screenies later. I wanted to post this to see how many people actually cared xD

Hi im Diokatsu. Im really into anime specifically harems and romance. Soem of my favs are Code Geass, Kaibutsu Oujo, Kamisama Kazoku, Shuffle and H2O Footprints in the Sand.

Im basically a n00b with rpg maker but i have it anyways. I liek to make stories so i should start a project soon lol. Im rather more into scripting and hopefully i can leanr ruby soon. I know python, Java, Small talk and Perl nao. I wanna start 3D modeling as well as a side note.

Im not much of an artist but i do experiment with PS a bit and i know how to use some basic stuff. Im horrible at spriting i've found out...and id like some pointers if it's not oo much trouble. Im pretty laid back and i like to spam alot to get more into the community that way but i'll try and be as helpful as possible and obey all the rules! Arigatou Minna!
