Chat / Re: Post what you THINK other users look like
April 12, 2011, 05:35:27 pm
Every time I see his avatar, all I can picture is the scene where he's yelling at Ted: "You know what I'd like? That for once when I tell you to suit up, you do it.." "I did, that one time.."  "That was a Blazer!! It doesn't count!!"

i imagine everyone as what their avatar is

So, in theory, I look like Angel from the Buffy series? hehe

News / Suggestions / Feedback / Re: IRC Integration
April 12, 2011, 05:30:10 pm
I agree... One of the sites I used tio Admin, had chat nights every week, usually Mondays. The process was simple. One user was selected to talk about a topic, and, they 'presented it' in some form, and the rest of the membership had a discussion about it.. The topics rarely had to do with the site contents too, so that way people got to know each other, see each others other interests, etc.. Maybe a good idea to replicate here? They always turned out to be good, and, they ended up bringing people together more.

So, I know it was somewhere in shoutbox, but... What're the problems exactly?

Electronic and Computer Section / Web Browsers
April 11, 2011, 04:10:28 pm
Okay, so I totally stole this from the shoutbox.... Everyone seems to have a favorite browser, and for different reasons... This thread IS NOT meant to turn into a full out war of browsers... Keep civil about it please  :P

I would ask The Niche about that.. He seems to be quite knowledgeable, and is helping me with some sprites for my game as well... On a different note, I love the signature you have lol

@Ryex - I sent you a pm about this, for consideration. If it's a good idea, I think it would be the most beneficial, not only to the students, but to the community as a whole, allowing everyone to access it once completed?

In regards to the immediate portion, I would have to agree with the above system. Increases with uses, and I vote that ALL skills should be done in that way. It makes it seem a little more believable. In "real life", you don't gain the same amount of knowledge every time you repeat something... In fact, sometimes you don't learn quiet as much as the last time you did something... So I guess that introduces another option: The possibility that your increase is random?

Run Time Package / Re: Run Time Package

Well, medium / large blade would work, and I kinda envision an axe that's curved blade on one side, and warhammer on the other side...

I wouldn't mind being a character :)

If you can, I'd like to be a axe-wielder, brown hair, green eyes, medium build

Event System Requests / Re: [XP] "cheat" system
April 09, 2011, 12:32:59 pm
Okay, well, the directions, although a little unclear, pointed me in the right direction, and, I have a working cheat system :)  Thanks for the pointers guys! They helped quite a bit!
831
So, I read through, and, the cheat system that's already been made is based on numbers instead of words. I've been tinkering with it, and I can't figure out how to accept a string of characters, and compare them against possible options. I'm actually not sure it it HAS to be an event, but, it's currently a common event, and, is tethered to an item activating it..

I'll help with adudio if needed. I've done a bit of work for things like this before. Just need to mess around a little, and, redownload the programs I use for synth..

Tutorial Database / Re: [RMVX] Cheat System
April 08, 2011, 12:33:59 pm
Do you know of a way you can input letters of variable length, instead of numbers, of a set length?
834
Ah, okay then.. Now I just have to find a joomla site, install the smf software into it, and, make sure it's all compatible and not blocked by work...

Video Games / Re: Diablo 2-ish?
April 07, 2011, 02:25:58 pm
Alright, well, I most assuredly will not be having anyone lose experience with death. Nothing will be impossible. Difficult? Yes. Impossible, not quite. The only things that you cannot return to are bosses that give you elite-ish items, and, provide useful info, unlock a portal, etc. All good levels can be revisited :)

Oh-damn...  :'(

Hmm.. Well, Skill trees I should be able to manipulate with just the database itself. Thanks for the script link! I shall def be using it, and I'll give proper credit.
838
I shall be using this script, and I'll put credit to you in it... It sounds pretty awesome so far

Hmmm.. Alright. The stats part I will need help with to script that and the levels / skills / stats relations, but, I have the theory done already for it. Grinding will be a part that needs to be done, but not even close to the amount d2 wanted you to do lolz. I personally hated act 2 the most... it was all a bunch of running through corridors and desert space >.>

I didn't mind a1 though, I was a pro ninja at it  :ninja:  lolz

I do have some armour / weapon sets planned, and they're all attainable in-game right now. I'm adopting the idea of a specialty shop though, so there will be some random items available in the CP Dungeon area.

As most people on here know, I have my own forum, kinda like a sister site to CP, but there's a few things I need some advice about, and, I figured this may be a place to ask... I also use SMF software for the forums, but, I haven't been able to figure out certain things about it, like how CP has a main home page, and, a separate forums page? I have the main page option, but it brings you straight to the forums... Would it be wise to switch servers, and just use SMF as a separate installed extension, or, is there a way to manipulate the software? I'm using freesmf.net as my server atm.. Anyone have any thoughts, ideas, etc?
