Chat / Re: What is the length of your erect penis?
March 04, 2016, 06:31:54 pm
Don't worry about it.  You can easily Google some average numbers if you want.  But you can't change your size, so focusing on it is just going to stress you out.  If you really do need to talk about it, either have a private conversation (pm), or a completely anonymous conversation (make a throwaway on reddit).

Academics / Golden Ratio
January 09, 2016, 02:28:53 pm
I came across the tumblr post that was pretty interesting: http://1ucasvb.tumblr.com/post/55672229355/the-golden-ratio-ah-the-golden-ratio-no-other

There are plenty of good explanations in there, especially about why we see the golden ratio in nature.

just because it works in an event doesn't mean it will work anywhere in a script.

The Interpreter (which runs events) has @map_id defined, but Window_Message does not.  You have to get the id from $game_map instead (I think it's $game_map.id, but you might need to check).

Sounds like a script order error.  Is Blizz-ABS below all the default scripts and above Main?

Academics / Re: P = NP?
January 03, 2016, 12:41:06 pm
Having taken a graduate level logic course, I am quite confident that nobody here is going to come up with anything remotely close to a solution to P = NP.  It's a problem that seems simple at first, but the more you learn about it, the harder it becomes.  Feel free to discuss it I guess, but you aren't really going to appreciate why it's such a difficult and important problem without doing a lot of heavy reading.

Bug:
Forum does not update the last read post in a topic

Theme:
Smooth

Browser:
Chrome

Reproduction:
I can't tell if it started after the update, or after switching to the Smooth theme, but the forum is no longer updating the posts I read in topics.  It always takes me to the last post I read either before the conversion or before I switched themes.

General Discussion / Re: new custom Sprite sheet maker

spriter is supposed to be easy, when I opened it i just went to "file" clicked "Import" and i was golden, imported my resources and got to work

Well it's good that it has an easy way to import, but I was wondering more about the animation workflow (0:18 - 0:26) and the image editor (0:34 - 0:38).  Animations look decently complicated, especially for anything past arms + legs.  It was hard to tell from the 5 second glimpse, but it seems like the image editor is relatively simple, like they might expect you to stick with a different program for editing, and then just import them for the animation and extra features.

Also, does it have some improved way of image scaling, or is it just standard linear/quadratic/cubic interpolation and nearest neighbor?  Because if it's standard, scaling is probably never going to produce a very good sprite.

I've tried messing with spriter without tutorials, and it was a nightmare for me D:

Yeah I was wondering about usability.  The voice over in the video says "easy to use" while some pretty complicated stuff is going on in the background.  I wasn't sure if they were just demoing some of the more advanced capabilities, or if that was supposed to be their definition of 'easy to use'.
