Entertainment / Most messed-up Roguelike EVER.
January 15, 2010, 07:15:11 pm
WARNING: IF YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR SANITY, DO NOT READ THIS TOPIC.

You have been warned.

This is either a very messed up roguelike or an average Japanese RPG. It depends on you.

There's also no permadeath.

More perversion potential/Other cool stuff:

- You can have children with any of your pets/companions. Regardless of age, gender, or species. So, would you like to marry your loli or your black bear?

- You use leashes to keep your pets from being stupid and going away from you. Again, seeing as you can keep pretty much anything/anyone as a pet...

- The Riding skill allows you to ride any of your pets. Uhhh...

- Pregnancy is a status effect. Seriously. You can get it regardless of whether you are male or female. To recover from pregnancy, you must drink a bottle of poison.

...okay, before you go thinking I'm a monster, the pregnancy in this is similar to the ones in Alien vs Predator. So, if you're pregnant and give birth, you give birth to an alien mutant baby that will try to kill you. And impregnate other people. Damned aliens.

Having a real baby (a gene) is a good thing, though. It lets you start the game off again with a new character.

- To set the tone of "HARD" for the rest of the game, the tutorial intentionally screws you over. For your eating tutorial, it gives you a Beggar's Corpse. For your equipment tutorial, it gives you a Cursed Bow. It is the kind of tutorial where you want to restart after completing it.

(Eating human flesh drives you insane, unless you're a mutant, BTW).

- You can purchase nukes and destroy cities with it. It is the best way to get rid of Alien Pregnancy infestations. (everyone respawns anyway...)

I am a Level 9 Juere Warrior, happily married to my Little Girl. And my Horse. I currently want to amass some experience and skills so I can start killing stuff. Having to hide behind your claymore-wielding Little Girl all the time is kinda depressing.

Resources / Jalm's Sprite Stuff
December 03, 2009, 07:42:27 pm
Not being terribly new to the RPG Maker scene, I generally end up doing a dozen random edits and frankensprites. I figured I might as well post a bit of my work here and stuff. Feel free to use anything you find, but remember to credit!

I also do requests, but wait at least one week for ONE spritesheet/charset. I have the right to choose my priority etc etc. School may also get in the way, but that's doubtful. I don't really have much of a life, and studying is for the inattentive.

Villager: ShowHide

Gozaru 001

Gozaru's sprites can be found here. http://fayforest.sakura.ne.jp/sozai/index.html

Knight: ShowHide

General: ShowHide

Cat 001-Fighter01

Normal: ShowHide

Credit Coyote instead of me for this one. All I did was add a few missing pixels: the original was missing a good portion of its back legs.

Defend: ShowHide

Down: ShowHide

Others

WIP-001-Weapon01: ShowHide

Note to self. Get something better than MSPaint.

Extra Poses: ShowHide

The redhead girl isn't my sprite: I merely used the gun, and I figured that there was no point in deleting the rest of her sprites. I forgot the original author. If you know who it is, please tell me....Or I could just delete the redhead. Eh.

Games

Because I have no creativity.

Team Fortress 2

Engineer-Tan: ShowHide

Fun fact. Engineer-tan was originally a Rule 34-ified version of Engineer before she found herself in the comic Nerf NOW!!! Also credit Captain for creating Engineer-tan.

Another fun fact. I kept reuploading and taking this sprite down three times because I didn't like the helmet. I'm satisfied with it...for now.

Killzone

Helghast: ShowHide

...Alright, so it's just a recolour, and it's not very accurate because I didn't even bother with a reference. Whatever; I didn't want Team Fortress 2 to be lonely.

Abandoned

If anyone wants to salvage something, by all means.

Dizzy, Guilty Gear: ShowHide

...I'll finish her...someday...maybe...I'll probably just start from scratch.

Requests

Sigma, Request by SigmaCross, WIP: ShowHide

SigmaCross did the original drawing and stuff. I'll...finish it...eventually...

Sark, Request by C.C. rOyAl*: ShowHide

Non-RMXP Stuff
Travis, Pokemon: ShowHide

This is my OC for a guy's comic contest. He's dressed up as a grim reaper because I wanted a black hoodie but I didn't want him to look like an Org XIII cosplayer.

Melody.EXE, Megaman Battle Network: ShowHide

It occured to me that we don't have any...uh..."eye-candy" net navis...anywhere...in any Megaman-related forums...so I made one.

STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT.

*- Full charset unavailable. PM C.C. for details.

General Discussion / Random Encounters vs Monster Events
November 09, 2009, 07:25:23 pm
Well, spotting your enemies is pretty important, but I could never decide on which I wanted to use. Sure, monster events allow you to have bonuses like advantages, etc, but it's very easy for the player to just avoid all those fights and head straight to the boss underlevelled. Random encounters are well...random, and can be annoying, but they're also a lot easier to implement, and save you the work of having to make enemy overworld sprites...

What's your say?

Tutorial Requests / [REQUEST] Mapping Cities
November 02, 2009, 04:12:59 pm
Or castles. Or towns. Or any human-based establishments, really, but I'm mostly concerned with the Castle Town tileset.

Many people can easily map natural settings just by randomly spamming flowers, grasses, etc, and I've seen a few tutorials for those. Any of you mapping geniuses mind writing somethung up?

Script Requests / [XP]Targetting Enemies/Allies?
September 16, 2009, 06:28:08 pm
You know in Blizzard's Tons of Addons there's a Zombie status effect? After seeing this, I wanted to give players the opportunity to kill zombies by chucking feathers at them, but you can't switch between targetting allies or enemies normally.

I know there's a script out there that does this, but I believe it needs the SDK, and the SDK conflicts with a lot of my other scripts.

Tell me if you need me to clarify.

Welcome! / Nice to meet all of you.
September 01, 2009, 08:37:03 pm
Name's Jalm. I think you could call me a spriter, a fanfic writer, and an RMXP-er, but I rarely ever get any projects of either of the three done, so I don't really think it counts. I have two years or so of experience in RPG Making, but I'm not very skilled.

I really don't know what to say, here, honestly. I'm a gamer (who here isn't), and I've been lurking this site for a while.

I'd be glad to stay around a while, until you all get sick and tired of me. Well, it's great to meet all of you!
