Sitting here listening to music and whatnot, decide its bedtime so I go to open a movie on my computer and by default VLC Media player is the default player. Now there was no sound playing. I tried opening the file in windows media player and it gave me an error saying the file cannot be accessed. Thinking it was just that file I tried several movies and other video files. No video will play unless played in VLC and VLC won't output any audio. I thought it was odd that I was just listening to music, I go re-open iTunes, what do you fucking know. Audio files aren't being played either. Strangely enough I can go on youtube and watch videos and hear it just fine. I tried restarting the computer, no luck. It makes no sense to me at all. I did a virus scan, no viruses, malware or anything. Anybody know what is wrong?
My audio breaks sometimes when I work on our audio library. There should be a notification icon in the system tray (the try icon should have a small red sign that the audio is disabled). Just click on it and select the option to identify and repair the problem. It usually works for me. You can also try reinstalling your audio driver.
Oh thank god. ._. Thanks Blizzard! I was worried, I've never had issues with audio or video drivers before.
At least Windows 7 (unlike earlier Windows versions) is able to repair that stuff. xD The only downside would be that it breaks quite often. But that's not a problem if you can fix it with a click.
No audio again. And no errors or coming up or anything. And you're solution isn't working either. Theres no sign or anything. Oh noes! A restart didn't fix it either. *goes to virus scan*
Problem solved after factory restore.
