Title: Just a quick question about posting a script
Post by: Magus on September 24, 2011, 11:40:23 am
Okay, I have this script made by an author that isn't on this forum. Which forum rule do this forum follow?

rule one:  You must credit the author when posting his or her script UNLESS he specifically say THIS CANNOT BE POSTED ANYWHERE ELSE.

or

rule two:  Make sure you have the author's permission. Make sure to credit.  (while following the forum's existing rules)

Probably rule #2. Its probably the best to get permission first.

Actually rule 1.

Unless the author specifically states that his/her script is to remain exclusive to a specific forum, they are publicly posting it on a public forum on the internet, which is pretty public. This being so, people are allowed to post it up wherever they please. I'm not sure of how much "legal" protection the author has either way, but its out of simple respect for someones property.
