Title: Piano Script
Post by: Lost_Hope on June 16, 2008, 03:56:02 pm
Ok well in my game, one of the main characters has a piano, so I was wondering if there could be a script to where you can hit certain key and a note would play, just like if you played a piano. (By KEY I mean a letter or number on your keyboard.)

If you can help, Please do!

P.S. - Don't tell me how top write it because I don't know anything about scripts!

Thanks

~Sean

Can you be more specific about what happens when you play the notes?
Is it just for playing songs or do certain combination of notes have effects like attacking or something?

I /might/ be able to event this... lol
It might take be some time though XD

I think that this can be done easily. You would need a direct keyboad input script and just the appropriate sound effects, each halftone of an octave. Then simply by pressing a couple of keyboard keys you would play the appropriate tones. That sounds like a very interesting idea for a minigame. :3

it is somewhat of a mini game. If you play the right notes in order, you activate a cartoon scene about colton and all the friends

Okay... I /should/ be able to event this with a keyboard input script.

If you play the right notes in order...That opens a new door for a lot of stuff. Make sure you give in hard songs such as Turkish March and...okay...I give up.

Well, a piano usually has 88 keys...but you don't want to have 88, considering that's quite the handsome amount of octaves, and you just need only some of them...

May I have a suggestion? Add in the Sharp Keys (The Black keys, if I'm getting my Piano Lingo wrong). They are used quite handsomely in the piano...:3

I thought a piano had 86?  Lol I haven't played mine in awhile =/
And yeah, they're called black keys.

Lol I could possibly use this for my game so I do wanna event this :)

Yeah...
I was about to say. This should be able to be done without much difficulty using events.
