Title: Song Voting for The Missing Part
Post by: MarkHest on November 09, 2011, 12:42:25 pm
So i have this song i am making for The Missing Part (http://forum.chaos-project.com/index.php/topic,9699.0.html) (It is incomplete).
I'm having a hard time deciding where this song shall be used. I realy want it to become either the Credits song or the Final Boss theme. I got big plans for it either way.

I want the final boss theme (THE final boss theme) to be epic in a sort of deep and meaningfull way, the battle iself is of course exremely decisive and the enemy is not one to be pushing around(trust me...). So i've decided to devide the final boss battle in different parts/phases, three parts/phases to be exact. So the first battle music will be sort of calm and sad but still epic and with a strong beat. The next battle will have a more dangerous song that represents the threat of the enemy. Then for the final phase THIS song should play becous it fits in such a way i cannot describe. The final phase should have a epic/positive feeling to it that screams: "We're moving towards something good, let us not fail this!"
What do you think?

But then again, this song altso fits unbelievably well as a credit song. I imagine the last scene of the game where something awefull has happened(Maybe you lost a party member or something) and in the middle of the sad moment something happens. The party hear a voice of someone familiar, that's when the music starts of with its intro and once the piano and strings ticks in the charakter that believed to be gone is now standing in front of them, then the screen fades out and the credits roll.

Both of these are amazing moments for the song but i just can't deside. I was going to put the Main Theme (http://soundcloud.com/markhest/sets/the-missing-part) as the credit and i probably will as it can be used in the exact same moment and the form of the song is the same as this one at start(Starts of with a soft intro then ticks in with a beutifull epicness).

So... shall i use this song for the Final Boss theme or shall i use it as a credits theme?

THIS SONG

(Note that it is incomplete and kinda short, i will remove the calm piano after half of the song if it gets more votes as a Final Boss theme and make it more upbeat. And as i said, the song is incomplete and yet young.) (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29306744/huh.mp3)

I need many votes!
And even some explanation to why you want that song you chose, let me hear from others perspective than just my own.

I like the song as the last phase of a boss battle, I've even had a similar idea myself.  I think that one thing to keep in mind with the song is that even though it is positive and relatively calm, you should keep a building motion going throughout the song.  Specifically, I think the part that starts at 0:37 sounds too bland, and would be much better if it had more forward motion in it.

Yes, if i chose it as the Final Boss music i will completely REMOVE the calm part and make it high tempo instead.
The song should altso be very long when it is finnished... i want it to be like... 4 or 5 minutes :3

Okay, that's 1 Vote for Final Boss.
I need more Votes  :D

The song fits this perfectly. I would use it in the climax or ending scene, not the credits. You could use a faster remix of the Main Theme for the credits.
