Working in RPG Maker XP.
So far, I'm finding that I'm generally pretty good at editing sprites, provided I don't have to change anything to spectacular, so I don't need any help with too much, but there is one thing that I do know I need. None of the sprites available are suitable for the common enemy that I want to have in the game, so it will need to be built from scratch.
The creature, which I'm tentatively calling a "ghoul," is roughly man-sized, but with ape-like proportions. It has leathery brown flesh, red eyes and no lips, so it always appears to be grinning. It has no apparent neck, so the head just seems to sprout right out from between the shoulders and it moves with a hunched and sort of shambling gait.
I'm using the BlizzABS script, because I hate turn-based combat, so I just need the sprite and not the battler graphic.
Anybody out there willing to help me out?
I can give it a go~
It sounds like a very interesting creature; really good description, too. I'd be glad to make it if you'd allow me. :3
You just need the sprite set, right?

I'm amazed someone jumped on it so quickly. I hadn't even finished browsing the rest of the forums.
Yes, just the sprite set is all I need. Thanks for giving it a shot.
XD It was just a coincidence that I was on, I guess.
No problem! ^^
Gives me something to do....lol
How's this? Anything I need to edit?

Mostly good, but if we can get the head just a little farther forward to give it a more hunched appearance, it would be perfect.
Is this better, or does it need to be lower?

Yeah, the head should be lower. The top really ought to be only a little higher than the shoulders.
Actually, I think I can work with this. Sith Jester's Ryuk Sprite has the posture that I need and i can use the colors of your sprite to edit it. I think. It'll be the biggest editing job I've ever done, but I think I can do it.
What name do you want me to put in the credits for your help?
Okay, just finished making the final edits to the sprite. I was worried about it, but with the light levels turned down as they are in the game by the time you actually get to fighting them, it actually looks really good. Thanks for your assistance. You can even still see the most recognizable parts of your work in it, too. By which I mean the face (although I did edit the mouth a little bit to make it look more toothy).
*sweatdrop* Sorry I couldn't be of much service. Glad you could finally edit it, though. ^^

Your help was quite useful. Your sprite provided the colors I needed (I knew what I had in mind, but had no idea how to do that with the programs I had (extremely bad with paint) and showed me how to do the texture of the skin. On top of that, various pieces were taken from it and modified to give it the look I needed. For example, on the upward facing sprite I used all of the head and back, although I flipped the lower neck so that it would appear to have a deeper hunch. I'd never have been able to do it without the spite you made. So, thanks.
D'aww, I'm happy it helped. It sounds like a very interesting game, keep it up! :3
