Figure I'd officially-ish introduce myself here.
I go by Berans, my real name you shall never know :P
I like using RMXP to make fun games, especially if I can challenge myself in making them
I very recently introduced myself into the world of rubyscripting, so in the future you might see some work from me up here, or I might ask for help :^_^':
Well...that's all for now I guess, feel free to ask me any questions.
Welcome to CP.
I seen your previous few posts in the RGSS scripts section. You do seem very knowledgeable within Ruby, and I hope you prove to be a very smart person. :P Well, I don't have anything else to say but...:welcome:
Welcomes!!!!!!!!
Haha, thanks. I made sure to read a ton of tutorials before attempting my first couple of really basic scripts. Pretty much started by implementing tiny script commands in the event system, and now I'm onto doing my CMS.
I suppose I also got a bit of an advantage from doing a semester of programming at college as an elective subject. It really helped me understand a lot about the logic etc. behind it :P
Ah, no wonder you're doing so well after reading nothing but tutorials and an elective. Many people who read tutorials usually go into a landslide of frustrations and "ARGH!" because it's not working for them. Well, if you are going to be focusing into the Scripting side of CP, I hope you make something deeming to be into the database. :3
:welcome: to CP :D
You'll get good at scripting if you know the basics of programming. Me, I didn't even check out any tutes. My first programming language was RGSS and I had to work a lot from scratch to familiarize myself. I'm in college now and my dept. is Computer Science, so I'm much better off now.
My only real programming experience before RGSS was some really basic stuff in java, still helped a lot with the understanding though.
In some respects, I find Ruby handier to use than java, though that might just be the fact that it's so specialised for its purpose.
