Blizzard set up an IRC chat for us so everyone will be able to have contact with each other instantaneously.
Enjoy!
*waits for Blizz to kill me for stealing this posted news*
EDIT:
For those amongst you that connect using an IRC client, the server is
irc.p2p-network.net.
- When you connect, type /join #chaosproject (not necessary if connecting over the website).
- You can register your name with /ns register PASSWORD EMAIL. The EMAIL is used in case you forget your pass.
- When you log in, use /ns identify PASSWORD so that the system knows it really is you who is using that name. This is only necessary if you have registered that name. You will be prompted to do so by NickServ.
- Finally you can kick someone from chat in order to regain your nick by using /ns ghost NICK PASSWORD.
- You should change and validate your name before you join #chaosproject, but it is not necessary.
RULES OF THE IRC CHAT! (http://forum.chaos-project.com/index.php?topic=4.0)
Make sure you have a complete understanding of the rules before going in there.
If you need help in connecting to the IRC chat, follow this link here.

*is inable to use it :/*
If you want to enter the IRC through other means, then go to the following server:
scruffy.centralchat.net
And go to the following channel:
#ChaosProject
By the way, I'm the first person to get banned on the Chat! :D (For a little bit)
I don't want to know why^^
I'll tell you guys anyway. xD I was changing nicknames too fast and I had two people on one IP Address. But I'm sure it's the name problem. ;_;
EDIT: Never mind, it's because of a Floodbot problem. Apparently they banned people with numbers at the end of names because those were "bots". I tried changing my name to shdwlink1993, making me banned. :P
We're working on it, SRK.
EDIT: SRK, you can join again, but you mustn't use numbers in your name.
maybe u shouldn't change your name then star xD
lol silly antics all up in that joint
I'll clear this up. You may only use numbers in your name if it is up to two numbers long. Do not use a name that is more than four numbers. I don't know about three, but don't try unless you really want to get banned. Recently floodbots under that number string amount have invaded centralchat so they did the simplest way of banning.
Ya you won't get banned though. I keep trying to change my naem to 1337Bot but it says it's invalid
You'll only get banned when the four numbers are at the end of the name. You also can't use inappropriate or banhammer encouraging words as your nickname. Sorry, no porn or Alfred. :/ The nickname thing is VERY tough on some items.
That's a bad example, indeed. XD
You need to update the Chat link. chat.chaos-project.com doesn't seem to work anymore.
*fixes*
I would like to use Opera's IRC function and would like a step+step instruction on it if possible Blizz/Aqua
http://revver.com/video/1108691/easiest-irc-client-ever-irc-in-opera/
CP's IRC channel has been moved. The new server is: irc.p2p-network.net
EDIT: I have also put up a new java applet for chatting which supports all our forum smiley codes. :naughty:
I love the new chat. I can actually load it in Opera <3 design is awesome too
I made sure of that. <3
The design isn't mine, but the colors are custom.
It's been a little lonely lurking on the IRC lately; it dawned on me that many people probably don't connect because they just don't know how (in case you haven't notice, the "Chat" button here on CP doesn't work very well; using an external client is necessary. Don't worry; it's really easy to set up and use.) So, here's a little tutorial. Note that I will assume you're running a Windows OS; if you're running a different operating system, you'll have to use a different IRC client, but the instructions should otherwise still work just fine.
STEP 1:
Download an IRC Client. For Windows, I recommend mIRC - it's lightweight and gets the job done well.
You can download mIRC from here:
http://www.mirc.com/get.html
STEP 2:
Install your IRC Client. For almost all programs, the installer is pretty straightforward. You shouldn't have much trouble with this step, hopefully. The rest of these instructions assume you're using mIRC, but the actions you must take on other IRC clients are very similar.
STEP 3:
In the options window, select your nickname. I'd recommend using the same name as your username here on CP so that other members can easily identify you.
STEP 4:
Select "File->Select Server." Chaos Project's server is "irc.p2p-network.net." (without quotes, of course.)
Click the connect button.
STEP 5:
Enter a Channel name; Chaos Project's channel is #ChaosProject.
STEP 6:
That's it! You should now be connected and be able to see and chat with other members of Chaos Project!
If you have any trouble, post here and I will give you a hand.
Nice. Hopefully a few more users will get on the chat, it's quite lonely in there. O:

I'm advertising Xchat over mIRC, because it's not some dumb trial version:

I agree; when I wrote my tutorial, I wasn't aware mIRC had changed to a trial version format. I remembered it being free.
It's always been free, regardless of the trial version. You're still able to use it after 30 days. Simply wait for a small bit for those "Trial expired messages" and continue on your way. xD

Actually, I think you may be incorrect. I tested it out, and mIRC does indeed force you to quit after 30 days. To add insult to injury, you STILL have to go through the nag screens to quit.

Perhaps that's the latest version then, hm... I haven't updated mine in a bit, after all. If that's the case, then an older version can always be downloaded at http://www.oldversion.com/ .
But whatever. xD
Mine is the same as Starrod's btw.
Hmm, I just took a look at Xchat, and the Windows version seems to be a 30 day trial as well, according to the official download page here:
http://xchat.org/windows/
nah, that's the main xchat, I'm talking about xchat2

You can always use the integrated chat on CP. :V: Or in my case Trillian. :V:
that chat on CP doesn't work for me, on both firefox and chrome java gives me an about accessing a sand box resource
I used to have problems on Opera a lot earlier, but now all I have to do is to install Java and it works just fine. I think that you can just ignore that error, though. It worked for me back then.

It'd be ignorable if it didn't pretty much tank the java app.
MIRANDA!
Nice iPod Touch/iPhone app for IRC http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/colloquy-irc-client/id302000478?mt=8 1.99 on the appstore, very excellent I must say.
If the normal chat doesn't load for you, try this:
