Title: Field area vs. Town area

So, I've come to another decision in my game.  This time, it is the ratio of field area to town area.  Right now, it's about 5 to 1.  But one of my friends said it should be like 10 or 15 to 1 because it gives players so much more opportunities to explore.

For clarification, the I'm talking about actual amount of tiles of each, not the number or the size of maps.

Vote + explain!

I voted 5 to 1 but after reading how you clarified what you meant...I choose 15 to 1...

good!  I'm glad someone agrees with me.  I've long since expanded my field area (in my 500x200 1st area map (100,000 tiles), I have about 7000 tiles belonging to towns and the rest to fields.  To compensate for the huge expanses of explorable areas, I'm having much more of my storyline take place outside of towns, which actually makes more sense for my story :)  of course, quests and stuff will take you all across everywhere too, but it's nice to have a story that lets you explore.

Agreed!!

I am making a huge world map, Lol. And on the world map there are invisible chains of islands all over the place with little neat things in them, haha =)
