WoW is terrible.
and it's a free to play MMO, hence the cash shop.
WoW wouldn't have a server if it weren't for the monthly fees.

1. That's strictly opinion based. No particular game sucks, so I agree with you in that respect. However I can say I'm not a big fan of WoW.
2. Let's just drop this stupid arguement. A cash shop doesn't determine how amazing or how terrible a game is. I'd have to say it only factors in a little.
3. WoW could be free. Blizzard Entertainment could definitely afford it. But donations would say the same thing as a cash shop. There's no point in argueing a stupid point like that. But blizzard entertainment wouldn't need something of that sort, would they?
4. I'd assume you're trying to say WoW is unique when it's just another MMO. But once again, this is all opinion based.
Hey blizz, this is turning into a debate :<_<:
[quopte]would they?[/quote]
no.
Here's what would make a fun MMO, in my opinion (note that I play WoW, mainly because it doesn't bore me so much and I need entertainment, hence I play it):
- KHII-style ABS
- Quests that surprise you
- No Grinding, nothing but PvP and Quests
- A really interesting, fresh world with lots of randomosity
- FAST-PACED
I would LOVE that game. A game that's actually fun, but with a lot of people at the same time. That would be way better than modern offerings, in my opinion.

That doesn't change the fact that it's slow. A turtle is fast compared to a snail. Doesn't mean it's fast. And if NAMK is looking for fast, it's obviously not a viable option.
wow i s a very fast game if your at least good at mmos and rpgs...
I personally hate MMORPG's period.
But that's just my taste because when I start playing them it's like a drug, I get addicted fast and I can't quit. Seriously I used to waste 5-6 hours a day and 12-14 hours a day during the summer playing WoW. I wasn't even high level either, I used to go to Instances none stop and grind a lot but i still was only level 27.
It's not that I wasn't good I just never cared for it and it was soo slow.
WoW hardly has anything on the list WcW mentioned.
- Yea it has an ABS but it's no were near as good as KHII
- All the quests are basically the same, go get these items or kill this guy, they need more variety, once again, not like in WoW
- The whole thing is just one big place to grind, the only place you can't grind are in the cities, so this one is missing from WoW
- Well that is one good thing about WoW, it puts you in the game. Good Graphics, overall quality, beautiful nature, so that is a feature in WoW
- WoW is not fast paced at all. For one it takes 1-3 Hours to get through an instance, two, it takes a long time to level up once you hit 40, three no combos unless your a rogue. So not a feature in WoW. The only thing fast paced about it would maybe be it's Fighting and that's still slow unless your a rogue or a warrior, you would have to aggro a lot for the ABS to even be fast paced.
That leaves 1 out of the 5 items in the list WcW wrote.
I'm not saying WoW is bad or anything because if I rated WoW I would give it a 7.5 Overall.
I'm just saying that WoW is addicting and pointing out reasons why WcW might not like it.
Sorry, if this post was negative to anyone in any way, I was not trying to be negative. Just pointing out some stuff in WoW that would make it bad for WcW.
No, it's not. Not when there are games like Nexuiz, Call of Duty, KH, FFXII (sorry, I'm not as big of a gamer anymore) that go waaaaaaaaaay faster, and dont' take hours upon hours just for the most basic of achievements.
Yeah those games are good, it takes like 30 mins most on Call of Duty 4 to reach rank 10 when it would take 1-3 hours in WoW to reach level 10. WoW is not fast at all.
QuoteAll the quests are basically the same, go get these items or kill this guy, they need more variety, once again, not like in WoW
ovisly you never got passed level 40.[/quote]

it does not take 1-3hours for an instance. only raids with are for the people who like long time things, pvp is for people who like fast pace. lower level isntances take 30mins.
it takes me one hour to get to level 10...
also theres 50levels in cod and theres 80levels in wow... and in cod you can go back to level 1...
MuOnline was a nice MMO as well, but I grew so sick of it that I hate it today. One could say that I was addicted to it as I played daily usually for 12 hours. At least when I stopped, that allowed me to actually see why I grew so tired of the game. I only got "addicted" to it because it was my first game.
From what I have seen of WoW, it's not fast paced at all. MuOnline wasn't fast-paced, but it was faster than WoW. When you get over level 70, though, you can be happy if you get 1 level per day. It becomes horribly repetetive and annoying. You need to walk around for hours to get a few miserable EXP. And if you die, you lose 5%-10% of your EXP needed to level up which means another hour of playing just because you didn't see that stupid monster attacking you from the back and you didn't have a potion to heal yourself. "WoW is so sloooooooooooooooooooooow." I hear that all the time from people who played it for years.
And if you die, you lose 5%-10% of your EXP needed to level up
NO NO NO you do not loes exp when u die in wow no no no... and i got 1-2 levels each day for playing 3-4 hours a day
i now have 3 80s and 2 70s 1 75 i could get them all to lvl 80 in a week if i played 3-5 hours a week.
Yes Susys, I didn't pass level 40 but I've played my uncles account which had a level 44 and it was a little faster and funner but after 30 minutes it got old fast. It was fun to go around as a hunter and let your pet kill everything and stuff but other than that it was boring... The only really nice thing about WoW is it's graphics. Besides that it's boring.
Yes it does take 1-3 hours when you do an instance with 4 people. I've done it with both a level 30 character and a level 65 character(my uncle's character) and they both took 1-3 hours on different Instances. That was also with a tank, healer, hunter, and another warrior.
The delay between attacks should be shortened down a little and make it realistic with a stamina bar or something.
WoW is a good game and I'm not saying it isn't. I just personally don't like it for those reasons.
well what instance was that? and if so then the people(or you) suck how many times did you wipe?

[massive sarcasm]Oh, ok. If you can get to level 80 that fast, then everybody I know IRL who played WoW is either a complete idiot because it took him weeks to get just one character to level 80 or w/e and they actually played the game for years and have only a handful of characters at level 80. Sure. You are totally right. Perfectly right. It all makes sense. All the people I know are idiots.[/massive sarcasm]
i ben playing sinse the game came out, and yeah i can get a couple characters to 80 it really isnt that hard... the quest in northrend give a ton more exp now and mobs give a ton more exp and the rewards are much greater in northrend then outland,
stats in normal 69 quest in outland:
13-28
northrend lvl 69:
48-64
and blizz i got ulta (smart-ass) to read ur post she said that it sounds like your talkign about wow, so learn to post a good post!
Not once.
I think the one my level 30 went to was Gnomergan(Idk how to spell it) and I don't remember which one the level 65 was on. It was like all purpley like and there was this pit type thing I think with a big giant. (I could be thinking of something completely different but I think that was the one.)
gnomergon should take you 45min - 1hour 30min

that doesn't make any sense.
edit: oh yeah, and in WoW, there is no strategy. It's all poopsocking for gear and equipment, since each class only has 3 possible effective builds, due to the skill trees, and the lack of true synergy between them. This is why I play GW, even though GW is relatively slow as well, because in GW there is no ineffective class combination (you can have a Main and a Sub class to enhance your build), and it's all about how well you play your build, not how much grinding you did for levels or gear.
why dont you stfu.
i could spend hours arguing you but im not gonna do that.
This is why I like GuildWars. XD
1. You don't have to interact with idiots.
2. It is one of the most fast-paced games I've seen, especially because it constantly involves partiess of 4-8 people.
3. Max level is very low (20), so it quickly becomes less about grinding and more about skills and strategy.
4. STORYLINE!!!!!! OMG!!!!!! EPIC!!!!!
5. Variety - most important thing. You can go out and explore, compete in PvP or GvG matches, do quests, do missions, capture elite skills, and even do hard mode vanquishing. It is very hard to get bored of GuildWars, even with only one of the campaigns, which I played for over a years straight.
6. NO MONTHLY FEE!!!!!!! One time purchase. No cash shop, no bullshit. They even ban people who sell in-game gold and items for real-world money
7. Community!!!! It is very easy to find a guild of great people who help you out with whatever you need, from quests, to missions, to whatever.
8. Graphics and processing speeds. This game has beautiful graphics (much better than WoW) and takes up less space and processing speed than pretty much anything else (including CABAL online, most FPS games, and many others).
I'm sorry, but the only reason to play WoW over other MMOs is out of ignorance, stubbornness, because you are addicted to it like a drug, or a combination of those.
MMOs have a great feature called community, which makes them "better" than traditional single player RPGs. This may be the most attractive feature of an MMO and really defines whether or not it should be successful. I know from experience that out of the three MMOs i played, WoW has the WORST community I've ever experienced. These are some things I noticed:
1. Everyone who plays WoW is so fucking defensive whenever anyone trashes the game and yet it seems like every other game sucks in comparision to WoW. Can't you just fucking take your blows as they come? Who gioves a shit what game is better if you enjoy it?
2. Learn to speak ENGLISH. I don't speak 1337. What are you all, five? Stop substituting letters for words like "u" for "you". It's utter bullshit how much effort people go to to make their messages completely abbreviated when it takes the same time to type it out. Memes are for slight forum jokes and 4chan. Shouting, "It's over 9000!" when you kill someone isn't funny, no matter how many times you "rofl".
3. I could give a damn what level you are, I'm out to play for myself. Noob or not, I payed my fucking way into the game and I'm gonna play at my goddamn leisure.
4. MMORPGs are NO BETTER than regular RPGs and are, in fact, less fun in general. I'll go play Chrono Trigger again before I pick up another MMO to deal with the shit leveling and grinding system. Farming blows and shouldn't have to be done in any case.
5. Outside of the game, don't talk about it. WoW is still a fucking fantasy game and let's keep it in itself. you want to talk about how amazing your new guild is, don't fucking waste your breath. It seems like all people who play WoW care about is how much they can talk about their goddamn achievements. Go speedrun a cool game and then start bragging. At least those take skill.
No MMO takes skill. It takes some timing and forethought, but no skill. Skill isn't found in point-and-click or click to attack games. Skill is found more in RTS, rhythm and puzzles. That is skill. Experts at Tetris blow my mind. There are no WoW experts, just those willing to spend more time on it than others.
Go play MMOs and rock your fucking world with the amazing quality of their gameplay and graphics. Go nuts. Leave me the hell out of all your crap though and at least think before you speak next time, Susys. 2-10 word responses with poor spelling and absolutely no coherency aren't giving WoW a good voice in this debate.
PS: Guild Wars story was amazing. I spent more time reading the story than I did playing. :3
one slight disagreement:
Although they don't require as much skill as RTS games, some MMOs do require hefty amounts of skill. in Guild Wars for example, anyone can make a PvP character that starts at max level with full skills and armor. The only way to be successful though is to learn which skills work well together and how to use them effectively, as well as how to play against many other styles of fighting. Also, a fair amount of teamwork is required, especially for support classes like monks. So although its not quite like an RTS, MMOs do have their own skill component (or at least GuildWars does)
Everything else is spot on. I would say that it is true that MMOs generally have less substance, but on the other side of that, they have a community of real people and a vast world to explore, which makes up for it, in my opinion.
QuoteWoW has the WORST community I've ever experienced

im not saying anythign bad against alliance, but its mostly full of the younger age groups who are immature. the 10-15, i still play alliancee and i always have to say "grow up".

I agree, this topic will just lead to flaming and other kinds of stuff...
You know, I haven't been reading this topic closely. But I can easily see what's going to go on here and escalate...
I might as well give one more chance at the whole idea. But then again, this is freakin' saying if a game sucks or not. It's the equivalent of a thread that's like...
"Legend of Lexima - good or bad?"
And that's not cool.
I'll lock this temporarily. If any person wants this unlocked, please PM me. Blizzard, if you think these guys are able to not fight, then unlock this yourself.
Dio's first point is very valid. Good that you locked this topic. If you didn't do it 6 hours ago, I would have done it now.

which leaves the impression that she can't handle the topic without flaming. The only comment I can give to this is "Why don't you just stop posting then?".
