It's a free version of Guitar Hero. I just got it working on my Mac, so yay :P
Anyone else play this?
Post a link :P
I do :P

I'm dl'ing some songs for it now. It's actually pretty fun. I have to use an old version, though :P
Eh, it's not the same as playing with Guitar Hero. The editing system isn't as user-friendly as StepMania or osu!, but that's okay. At least at times it can be fun.
I know for a fact you can make something epic when given that fact. I don't have the latest version so I don't know how awesome it is now. I had it around 2007, when I was in my rhythm groove.
It's not as well-made as Stepmania in my opinions, but then again, Stepmania has a much larger community to draw off of. Osu is probably the best made and most organized, but, in my opinion, it's not asentertaining. It does have some neat features though. Frets on fire is ok for a GH simulator, but the only reason to get it is if you have the GH discs to get the songs off of. Otherwise, there aren't many good songs out there. Stepmania can just use the orbular noteskin with a reverse/hallway mod on to get a GH effect.
can i have a link for osu?

You may need a nice computer. You can tell UltaFlame to check it out, since there's a few Hellogoodbye songs on there. :P
But I digress!
How is Frets on Fire doing? Is it prettiful?
*Checks out screenshots*
Oh...at least they added a stage...It looks nearly the same. Eh, oh well. :P

Man...that's the BEST statement ever.
Quite seriously, I do mean the opposite. Did the developer intend to rip off Guitar Hero? Yes. But what was the point then?
Oh, the point is quite simple. Frets on Fire is a Guitar Hero SIMULATOR. It simulates Guitar Hero play on the PC. Yes, PC. But the way for it to be unique from console Guitar Heroes is that you can custom songs. It's just like StepMania except it has a custom interface. Well, I suppose that's osu! is too. Anyway, going back on Frets on Fire. Another point is that you're able to play songs from any Guitar Hero on it provided there's a rip.
It's just a simulator. Of course it's a rip-off. But rip-off is such a negative connotation.
I'm considering (possibly) modding the graphics a little bit on my Mac version, just for fun.
I'm getting fairly good; I can get 88% on Bang Bang on easy :P
lol i like that name, bang bang, and ontopic,
fof lags on my computer i duno why...
It's basically running RGSS, but with a different language and more flashy effects. You can go into Setting -> Video and turn anti-aliasing and quality down to speed it up if you want.
I just got 6000 last night, yay :P
